QUOTE(vick5821 @ Nov 1 2008, 11:59 AM) got a chem ques here Erm, i think is D, correct?Which of the following salts can be prepared by the reaction of an acid with a metal.? A Potassium chloride B. Copper (II) sulphate C. Lead (II) iodide D Magnesium nitrate because for A, we cant use reactive metal like Potassium to react with acid because explosion will happen. for B, copper metal do not react with acid cos it is located lower than H in ECS. for C, this is insoluble salt, must use double decomposition method(mix soluble salt contain cation and another soluble salt contain anion } for D, Mg can react with nitric acid. please correct me if im wrong. like work_tgr said, the answer is either A or D.
if A, K + HCL -> KCL +H2 if D, Mg + HNO3 -> Mg(NO3)2 + H2 *both of the equation is not balanced |
