Fishing, banana boat, BBQ, swimming, seafood, cycling. that's what I can think for now. Haha

im looking fwd for my family trip to PD next week too ... Thistle hotel FTW! too long havent bring family out for holiday... haven't get to plan where to go or eat haha

Thistle is really nice view. Price a little higher

btw what about the breakfast? any idea?

Avillion has a mini zoo with feeding time, kids sure Love it, also comes with jacuzzi pools. The 2 beaches beat Thistle by miles & the water chalet is smoothing with open bath room.

As for Thistle, there is water slide and a mini fountain pool, kids will like it too. The banana boat ice cream is gooding!

Both are baby friendly, bought my lil girl to both places since 1yo till now 6yo still go. Try check out different dates, Thistle's rate is half of AV PD.

Grand Lexis is nice too with private pool but a BIG minus is it doesn't have a sand beach 

AV door can lock, so is Grand Lexis & Thistle, unlikely baby can open himself. Wave sound quite loud but it is smoothing & make you zz rather than disturbing.

AV mini zoo feeding time is around 10am or 10.30am, can't clearly remember because the timing is always ngam that I go right after breakfast, it is only steps away from the breakfast restaurant.

Thistle is expensive only if you book it late & on peak calendar. Try book early (e.g. 2-3 weeks advance) at Agoda for normal day e.g. School Holiday weekday, can get around RM220 nett/ nite, with break fast. Whereas the cheapest you can get for AV is nearly RM400 (for Garden Chalet, add about RM70-80 for Water Chalet). If your date is super flexible, buy 3D2N voucher from Matta fair can save a lot.

Thistle beach need walk pass the pool, ground, grasses, not that near to your room, maybe 3-5min walk if you count from the ground floor lift, but keep in mind that your room in up stair need take lift, end-to-end may take you 10-15min.

As for AV, there are 2 beaches both different end of the resort, depends on what room you get (but you may request for one that near beach). The one that beach is super near (almost in front of your room with < 1min walk) but the trade off is you have to walk farther to restaurant & zoo as it is located in the middle of both beaches.

Just to add, Thistle is just a hotel with beach & pool, nothing special but still I rate it better than all the other hotels except for AV. And the pub is super noisy till late nite that it disturb your zz, if you are a late person then no issue as I normally zz around 1am or 2am. I won't pay > RM250 for this hotel, not worth it.

I would rate AV as the best hotel at PD, follow by either Grand Lexis or Thistle (but Thistle is half price of GL), depends on you like private pool or beach.

AV Admiral Cove not bad too but I never go, normally I go the above 3.

My kid likes beach so I go PD 2-3 times a year, other than that I also go Penang, Terrenganu, & Kuatan (but I stop going since Lynas operate). In total I go local beaches 4-5 times a year & stay 3d2N or 4d3N.

I heard someone said book water chalet that room no starting with 900... because it is further away from the central location, I''m wondering is this 900 series rooms is nearby the beach?
