Thank you arthos7 for sharing. I can confirm that with g I am getting stronger and faster connection. Video streaming requires less frequent buffering now.

Hi Guys,

Can anyone teach me how to revert back to the old ROM please???

I am on HK2 now but it seems not that stable when using Garmin XT... keep on giving me error.

I tried to run the i900DZHJ1_updater_xp.EXE but it say thet it already installed with the newest ROM
*
I am not sure this whether this info is useful to you. I have done a lot of roll back of firmwares on other electronic devices. A firmware usually contains its version code and when you try to update a firmware your device will compare what is already installed to the firmware you intend to install. The device will not allow you to install an older version of firmware. This is what to are facing now.

However there is a way to get around this. All firmware codes are written in Hex decimal. What I have done previously ( not on Omnia firmware) is to use a Hex Editor to edit the version of the older firmware you wish to install to appear to be a newer version, thus tricking the device to think that you are installing a newer version.

I have briefly checked the HJ1 firmware with an Hex Editor but were unable to find the location of the version code in the firmware. If I have more time later I will try again.

i never knew that this was possible. I always thought that if u updated up, there is no way to downgrade, except to wait for a newer upgrade. It does seem plausible but i take your word that u have done it before. On what phone/device may i ask?

Be sure to update us regarding this ya.. It would be a neat trick to have.

I am still trying to figure out the correlation between HH3, HJ1 and HK1 firmwares. These are the only 3 firmwares I have.

P/S Could not find any correlation during lunch time. Will be traveling after this.

Another Accelerometer game, Teeter, by speleomaniac @ Modaco. Unzip and install cab file. Copy the 3 other files to the Labyrinth folder. Soft reset and enjoy.

Can I get you guys opinion?

How do you guys feel about this phone without high resolution? Watching movies not fun?
*
With a screen size of 3.2 inches and 400X240 pixels you can hardly see a single pixel. Unless the video source is of high resolution 720 or 1080 lines, which I don't think PPC media player is capable of playing, you will not notice any difference even if the screen is VGA ,ie 800X480.

only problem i had with that screen resolution is...some games cannot be run properly due to the screen resolution

but if from the view of movie playback, the phone dont have any problem running high resolution files like avi and mp4 (smooth and no lagging), most video format can be run directly using coreplayer except for rmvb
*
I found the rmvb codec for WMP sometime ago but have not played a rmvb video as yet, thus I do not know whether this works.

anyone knows whether apps in java can be back up? I have yet to update fw and willing to..but afraid lose all precious data. others I have use the PIM Backup
*
In theory Sprite Backup or Spb Backup could backup all data including system files and registry. Do a complete backup and hard reset and restore from backup, you will have all data intact like before your hard reset.

Install the Garmin program and map at My Storage or Storage Card. After flashing you just need to install the Garmin program at the same location and it should work.

Instructions to install Garmin is indicated on Post #1.

Hi there. Have installed Garmin but it also keeps on hanging. can open but after few seconds will hang. shakehead.gif ..

can someone confirm whether both garmin and mapking can sit side by side harmoniously in omnia? bcos i haven't uninstall mapking..and not willing to bcos it works great with mapking..could this be the problem? two nav apps in a device. I heard someone does have both in omnia and got no prob..or is it the port splitter?

another apps that i installed is microsoft voice command..could this be the culprit? because i dont see anyone using this apps

Ohh..headache!!  rclxub.gif

I can confirm that there is no problem with Omnia installed with Garmin and Mapking together.

What is your device Storage capacity? It should be at least 10MB to prevent hanging.

I don't think firmware is the cause. Did you use Task Manager to exit all Programs rather than just close?

Hey you guys need a help for a friend of mine..
My offc mate bought a 2nd set (frm singapore i think as there is no fmg stickers or any other stickers inside..means no warranty..)

The problem is now the touch screen is making problem... cannot align. hence the touch screen is a bit off..

She has tried aligning more than 76 times and still the arrow is moving around.

I suspected the digitizer (my 838 pro used to changed the digitizer.. similar problem)

The question is will update ROM settle this problem? or how much would it cost to be sent to FMG? & is there any oher way to settle this prob?
*
No need to send to FMG. A Hard Reset should sove the problem so will updating the device with a new ROM. Hard Reset is the easiest but make sure you backup your data eg contacts etc etc.

Hey Doc... u sure abt that... wouldnt want to give high hopes to this cute little girl & sexy too..:-)

Not something wrong with the screen or digitizer...

Heheheh actually it always give me the creeps whenever to update ROM or hard reset... NOT STRONG HEARTED
*
If Hard Reset or ROM flashing cannot rectify the problem, only replacement of hardware will. Hard Reset will eliminate problems caused by softwares.
If you want to avoid Hard Reset, try this:

http://knguyentu.com/wordpress/2009/01/ver...i900-unleashed/

Goto Improve Screen Calibration Accuracy. This requires you to edit your registry, which is more dicey if you are not familiar with it.
