i have a hard time pvp with my rogue in battleground...its hard to cheap shot or kidney shot a ppl...coz the enemy is like skating..even after i stun him..he only get stun after skating forward in 1-2 sec...so zzz with msian line..my ping is around 300

For me, players start to "skate" around only when my ping is more than 800ish. They occasionally jerk around when I have +-500ms. But when I actually have the magical 300ms that you speak of, which is VERY rare at around 4-5am on a night with a blue moon. Everything is considered F**KING smooth for me to PvP properly. So if you're getting 300ms, and you're complaining. Move to California so you can get <30ms, no one here can help you man. Or maybe you can subscribe to fibre optics broadband. =/

FYI, I play a rogue too, and I never get less than 500ms. NEVER.

But Virtual Linux Box doesn't solve your routing issues. e.g when your ISP lag, you still lag and the ping doesn't go quite as low compared to a proper dedicated server tweaked just specially for WOW.

Hmm...., u know, I haven't managed to connect onto Gamepath since patch 3.0 was released. Even with cycling through the various IPs.

300 ms omfg thats like msian ping heaven. normally i get 500 to 600. On a standard tmnut snail day its 800. Try pvping as a war, much harder. I charge and i keep mashing that hamstring button...but how come no hamstring? lol rogues have it easier.

heh i play at 400ms and 600ms while in raid but i still on Top dmg..but yes even im not lagg i got prob with pvp/arena since i was huntard..lol..wonder how much dmg i can put if i play less 200ms:D /flex

didnt check during arena, but I do know I'm delaying kao kao,
always shadowstep and wanna hit tat time ppl sure 2~3 step away adi...
i guess thats our fate...lol..

(as my friend has check using a program, our main problem is too many lost packet from router to router, so maybe sometimes u hit that button but lost package, so ur toon dont react....which sux..)

pvp as a healer or a range dps... much easier.. 300++ is consider the best for msian.. i only play my rogue whenever i hit 280ms once a while..

arena servers are lagging and bugged, dont bother. divine shield having cast times are not fun at all.

and no, router to router (or more precisely, node to node) doesnt have "lost packets"
tmnut blocked pings on tracert for certain/most people. if you do a direct ping you'll get it

you can experiment urself, go cmd, type tracert www.google.com you get nothing after the first few nodes. if ur lucky maybe you'll get a hit or 2. then, try ping www.google.com.

Actually Gamepath has been problematic for me since October. Random lag spikes, 700+ms on all my favorite gates, and the only decent gate to Rampage (101) has a crapload of downtime. It doesn't help that Rampage is the crappiest realm group in terms of performance.

Connection to Bloodlust is a lot better though, to be fair. So far the Thaurissan dudes have no issues.

wound poison is 50% proc rate, with DB it procs 100% cripple once wound procs.

dual wound with ambush + 2-3 dagger white attacks, ur almost guaranteed the cripple.

so 50 out of 100 ambushes, ur target is slowed for the killing. not that bad of a deal really

i have a rogue and normally play with a 350 - 400ms.. thank god the mutilate have been changed and does not require to be behind your target. i find playing mutilate the better of the other talent for us malaysians..

we can never get a nice timing to get behind our target for an ambush. everytime i sneak up to ambush i get im not in the correct position, and backstabbing when im directly behind them says out of range. u need to be ahead of your target to backstab them. with mutilate spec its ez to just cheapshot, mutilate (if crits u already get full 5 combo pts), from there either u go evis > dismantle or kidney and mutilate again.. we cannot really do much burst that way but at least we're locking them and doing dmg compared to do 1 ambush and they manage to run and kite u back to death.

playing a range class is still easier for our ping.. there's a saying in my server that asian melee players that are high in arena rating are prob the best players because they dont have to deal with just fighting hard teams, but they also got to fight against lag and always be couple of steps ahead. lol

msian ping with hunter most easy i think..haha~beastmaster pet lolz

should've gone lolstep then. hemo spamming > mutilating. mutilating from non back position = shit dmg, thanks to MANY multipliers stacked on the 20% oppo multiplier.

and my ambush is 10yd. its much easier than you think. as my combat = ambush > mutilate > evis > CLOS+sprint+vanish for the great escape. if no cooldowns then fight like a spartan hero bring few more allis down lulz.

my ambush is around 2-4k crit on warriors in plate too btw LOL
just pala/sham with shield ill open with CS then 5pt EA + dismantle to cut them down to leather/mail armor status.

warlocks, if they got over 15k hp ill open with cs, better bring them down as much hp as i can during stun before they meta. if they dont have meta/sub 14k hp, ambush ftw.

erm...300+ms skating?? omg did you ever pvp with 1.5k ms?? i want to cry if i got 300+ ms lol, i play a mages and a paladin healer and hunter so think the first 2 class i had how to heal and how to shoot lol

Right on the money! I am not sure about the rest of you who use TMNut Screamyx, but for me, 80% of the time i am having a line with an average of about 20% packet loss. These lost packet is even happening within TMSuck network itself, which should not be happening in the first place.

then u should check wif ur line, splitter, the telephone panel, and lastly call up if din solve... tis mean sumthing when wrong wif ur hardware....
normally u wont get packet lost, even if u ping wif 1000ms...

It is always a dps + DRUID that is a strong combo. U know why a warrior is favored over other dps class in 2v2? as for 3v3 and 5v5 the warriors representation have drop drastically from there on while the rogues are popular. Again there is a reason and as a season l33t arena player like you, you should know.

What you are telling me from the above = best tools vs warrior is evasion...then if u pop it u get smashed by overpower and if sudden death proc u get executed. to be honest, pvping as a druid and rogue is difficult even with average 300 ms latency. This is something that has been around for a very long time now. It's not like other classes, who can attack from any side. Druid and rogue spells requires us to be behind another player. And more often than enough, we're either not behind them, or too far to attack due to lag.

so for pvp oriented guilds do they do sp runs to get necks and rings etc for resilience? so how do they gear up? start from scratch?

pvp guilds just bot/farm bgs till they get the marks/honour then they will go and arena till they out skill/out gear the oponent, if the pve item is REALLY good for pvp then they will make it an effort to get it or just pm their friends and trade arena points/ratings for pve gears.

I'm guessing that good latency won't improve arena rating by more than 50. Maybe 100 if you are melee.

I doubt that we become PvP superstars just because we get American latency. A lot of it is skill, teamwork and strategy. It sounds cliche but that's the toof.

i have a friend who has a shitty pc and crappy connection in sg he can play his rogue in blues(lvl 65-70) kara epics some za epics and greens he can own rogues that have s2-s3 and you know what is funny? his warlock quite high in jubei. and i know ppl with GREAT latency good pcs cant even do shiz masuk terus mati.

prolly not as im too lazybusy to make pvp videos

300ms is not too bad for pvping once u get the hang of playing with the slight delay. but pvping with 1k above is really bad. the time u cast a scorch, u prob could've casted a fireball.

the only problem im facing pvping with my rogue is when i want to open a garrote or ambush on my target whilst they are moving. ambush can be helped by getting a glyph, but garrote u really have to pop sprint and chase to garrote. other minor stuff which lag kills us is unable to cloak on time (i.e: about to die and paladin throws the stupid hammer of gg or when u see an AP mage popping out CDs u press cloak but ate the dmg already then cloak comes on lol...

cos is one of the issue
what make me most frustrated is....
even if the screen show i'm behind of the oppenent or i'm next to the enemy, i always for the warning msg:"you are too far away"

and in bg...
when i'm stealth while one enemy come towards me, i try to cheap shot when he's in front of me i'll always miss..

Haha tat happen to us always... unless u tunnel will be better.... i'm a warlock cast instant spell mostly of the time will get the msg if i'm jus at 30 yard... when i go on my rogue.... i nvr got a chance to stealth, kill and run .... coz delay and always get detect or my rescue button cant activated = =

my s2 3v3 partner, a holy paladin partner used to heal us at 900ms - 1100ms.. and our crappy combo, mage/warlock/holy pala made it to 1950 highest.. he then proceed on claiming merciless glad and also vengeful glad in his 2v2 with my other warlock partner while still at that shitty crap latency.. i have to wonder how he can do that...

how you know its 900ms-1100ms? because its nowhere near possible especially in S3 pairing with a warlock when you gotta face so many druid teams with warriors/rogues having penetration.

Above that you're saying that he used a paladin/warlock 2's combo to climb to gladiator ratings? With all the superiror warrior/druid, rogue/druid, warlock/druid, rogue/rogue around.... @Mindcry, I'm simply judging them from their videos. Acrono's videos are really enjoyable. He's also the first to showcase the 0/31/30 spec in a video and thus, making it known to so many people. Almost all rogues were AR/prep in arena back then right b4 I quit a year ago. He is very creative in terms of gameplay, arena setups and world PvP.

Neilyo on the other hand is seen by many rogues as the rogue god because of his arena videos showing how he performs against the highest ranked teams. You can literally see his uber reflex speed and his situational awareness. Both prolly honed by his CS-playing as shown in one of his videos. Heck, when I played CS years ago I was pretty damn good with my 4-6 and 1-3. =P But with my ping in WoW, no, just no. In fact even with a good ping, finding THAT teamate proves to be a daunting task.

Anyways also his millions of duels with every class and last but not least, his infamous Vanishing Death Coils. So I'll comfortably say Neilyo>Acrono

TLDR version : Bullsh*t Exshige and Neilyo>Acrono.

crappy bg perhaps? probably not since my bg got player like quazacolt in it.. quaza pawned us couple of times during the rogues ARprep golden age days in s2..

he was on 56k when we were playing in s2 and would DC when he join a 25raid instance.. not only he lag but DC like 1/20 arena games too.. failing to breach 2k with our 3v3, my 2 partners form the 2v2 gladiator team where the dmg is more "manageble" for his lag..

yes i know all the armor pen.. all the warr/druid.. thats why i find it fking amazing they can pull it off and with that shit lag..

so i reroll a holy pala in at the end of s2 and play arena as pala for the whole of s3 trying to copy cat him... but my another warlock fren is not as good as my original warlock partner or maybe i sucks..

also 56k doesnt mean he'll get 1k ms, ive known american friends that plays with 56k but have 200-400ms ping. (envy no doubt, it IS 56k after all)
bandwidth != latency. WoW only takes like few KB transfer rate, where a 56k (ideally 200-300kbit bandwidth as you need ventrilo too) would be ok to sustain it.

its pretty simple why we're callin you bullshit, on either the ratings, or the latency, because NO TEAM at post 2k rating would let a paladin FREE HEAL with around/over 1k latency. almost EVERY class can interupt heals one way or another. there is no excuse. so again, either the ratings, or the latency, or both, were lies. and im not the only one in this apparently.
