QUOTE(RoxyGal @ Jan 10 2009, 03:36 AM) who using samsung here?
U guys set the RTA to wat
there is 3 mode
off mode 1 mode 2
im confuse with the manual stated that
it's optimal for video movie = mode 1
optimal for still screen like word = mode 2
but also stated..if u not watching movie..set to mode 1 or off
so which is which?
as i know OFF = normal ms timing
so mode 1 or mode 2 = over drive 2 ms mode? Quick q, where do you see those? Can't find them on my 2233SW.

Nah not all movies are in 16:9. But majority are in 16:9 xD! Some are even wider than 16:9 . But at least the 16:9 ratio monitors can view the most of the shows without the black bar. That's the main point why I got the 2233SW hehe.

QUOTE(ericpires @ Jan 12 2009, 10:59 AM) So, its better to go for a lcd with the 1:1 pixel mapping? What are you using the monitor for? If you're using it for your computer, you don't quite need to worry about 1:1 pixel mapping since most graphics card can actually do that instead. But if you're gonna to say get a 1920x1200 monitor for a 1920x1080 input device (PS3, Blu Ray and etc), then you need one with 1:1 pixel mapping or get one that is 1920x1080 native resolution.

QUOTE(doob @ Jan 12 2009, 08:36 PM) wow need to study more huhuhu anyway y samsung lcd make very high contrast but dell only make 1000:1 contrast?? Samsung is Dynamic Contrast.. i think the true contrast also is 1000:1 if I'm not mistaken. All those numbers, Dynamic Contrast are just marketing gimmick, there isn't a standard way to measure it.

QUOTE(anep @ Jan 13 2009, 12:25 AM) how bout acer X203H and samsung 2233SW? I have both of these at home. Both looks great to me though, the color. Only thing dissing me off is the Acer needs to display their logo for a few seconds before turning on . However I prefer my 2233SW because of higher resolution, more space in desktop compared to the Acer.

QUOTE(ej_italia @ Jan 13 2009, 05:14 PM) Yes, I know it can be easily solve that way. But i would like to know if I can still maintain the my current gc, as I don't game, will mainly use it to watch movies. Well I've search around and it seems your card could display up to 2048x1536. Since you don't game on it, definitely no problem trying to run it on your desktop right? Even my X700 laptop graphics card could output 1920x1080 onto my 2233SW and my LCD TV. QUOTE(ericpires @ Jan 13 2009, 05:26 PM) My gfx is geforce 4 ti4200... can only push to 1440 x 900 on a 19".... so you can kinda figure out how max ur gc can go. if u buy a gfx now also not 2 expensive, get a nvidia 9 series also ok... no point buy a chun LCD but ur gfx no juice to power it up. plus no problem to see Bluray also no problem Err, yours can only output 1440x900 cause it is a 19" ma. That is the normal resolution for wide screen 19" anyways.

From my experience, the auto is usually to automatically detect the settings for VGA connector... so far la with my old Dell and another Samsung. This 2233SW I using DVI so no need use auto detect.

QUOTE(Bigblock @ Jan 25 2009, 12:39 AM) I dun want a 24, the graphics supplied by those GC wont be enought to have a more realistic experience and S series is not ultrasharp i suppose and comes with HDMI QUOTE(:3mushy:3 @ Jan 25 2009, 08:28 AM) Well if he insisted on 22", just give him a model You have a choice between Samsung 2233SW, Viewsonic VX2233WM, or BenQ E2200HD, or if you don't mind of not having crappy speaker and HDMI input, just get the low profile version of T2200HD. From the design, Samsung wins hands down Err, those 22" are 1920x1080 as well..which means will kill his GC if he meant his gc can't support S2409W at native which is 1920x1080 as well.

QUOTE(Bigblock @ Jan 29 2009, 12:54 AM) Max rezo for a 22'' is 1920x1080 is it? if i run a 4850 golden samply wont it be able to handle the output? Can you explain more on native please. I have to agree i am a learner when it comes to LCD's hope you guys dont mind Max resolution for 2233SW is 1920x1080 which is also the native resolution which means it looks best at that resolution due to using all the pixels without the need to compensate. Let's say you are using 1680x1050 (lower resolution), the monitor would need to compensate for the loss resolution on the height and width which oftens affects the picture quality. QUOTE(ichigo_6091 @ Jan 29 2009, 09:19 AM) is 2433sw selling there?hell,i dont even know 2433sw even exists.btw, hows the 2233sw,can support 16:10 and 16:9? Added on January 29, 2009, 9:21 amwait,2233sw can support 1920x1200 right? I don't quite get what you mean, yes it could produce let's say 1680x1050 which is the usual 16:10 22" resolution but it doesn't look as good as on 1920x1080.

Well, IMO if you can add your budget a little, can get a 1920x1080 24" Dell as well. 21.6 -> 24". Worth it IMO.

QUOTE(jedi_dc @ Jan 29 2009, 05:14 PM) Noob question here -- , Can my 3850 support 22 inch Gaming?.. it may be my computer, but im already having trouble playing Undercover on my 13.5Inch Samsung CRT.. even with lowest settings, it lags .. I assume you're going on 1024x768 on that 14"? Then your system is definitely not going to be able to handle games at 1680x1050 or 1920x1080.

QUOTE(davidmak @ Feb 3 2009, 01:54 PM) Yeah its not obvious at all and it will be undetectable if you put the monitor in a shaded area. I love the monitor's color reproduction so much now even though its only a TN panel. Anybody knows how to distinguish what panels put onto the 2x33SW monitor series? Look at the back, there's a sticker.. If you see CHxxx tat's the chinmei panel. Mine's one of those >(.
