HOLD YOUR HORSES!!

Those who are interested in purchasing new LCD, DELL are releasing two models in February. These LED backlighting LCDs are definitely a big step towards LCD development.

* 22" widescreen G2210 offering 1680 x 1050 resolution, retailing for $279 (Estimated to be around RM1k)

* 24" widescreen G2410 offering 1920 x 1200 resolution, retailing for $359 (Estimate to be around RM1.3k)

Some of the pros of LED backlighting:

* High brightness
* Significantly larger color gamut (greater than NTSC and EBU) for more vivid colors
* Tunable backlight white point (maintains full LCD contrast)
* Real-time color management
* High dimming ratio
* Enables Field Sequential Backlight control for larger panels
* Reduced motion artifacts without brightness or lifetime penalty
* Low voltage
* Low EMI

so.. this monitor pawn t240 at the same price..!!??
*
Do you even have to ask, T240 can throw into the drain if compare side by side with LED backlight LCDs.

If you do not know how LED backlight monitor looks like, go to Machines and see if they have Apple LED Cinema Display there already.

My advice, if you really want it, wait for the DELL because the Apple costs 3x the DELL 24"

The resolution is 1920x1080 and the price.... it looks to be a TN panel even with the LED backlight...

Likely teething problems again..... May need to wait at least 2nd reversion...

I would wait for the LED lit 1920x1200 non TN-panel, the 2408wfp successor
*
TFT Central misled me regarding the resolution.

Anyway do you have any idea what e-IPS panel is this on the DELL 2209WA? From the spec sheet provided by DELL, I couldn't find one that matches LG.Philips' list of panels. unsure.gif

Samsung's Series 9 is LCD-TV, isn't? huh.gif
*
Correct. That's why the only LED backlit LCD monitor is the ACD.

damn... RM950 for an IPS panel? I'm getting it for sure after CNY. How the heck did they make an IPS lcd cheaper than a VA lcd? Deos IPS LCD's have ghosting and latency issues?
*
You better make sure it is really an IPS panel. DELL called it e-IPS, which I have no idea what thas it. e=Enhanced?

From the spec it looks more like a VA to me. hmm.gif

I'm really interested in knowing how this 2209WA performs. I'll definitely get one next week.

For those who are interested in the 2209WA documentation:

*
Are you referring to CRT? doh.gif If that's not the case, 9 yrs ago you already have a Samsung LCD?

What if is side?

Ever since i use my laptop crystalbrite technology LCD screen... seems to be more pleasant and vibrant than my current LG 17" matte type
*
As long as there is no light source behind you, glossy screen color tends to look better. But dust and fingerprint is easily seen.

was the display smooth (dell)... cause i saw the review did by TigerDirect about that HP gloss screen is so eye catching...
*
Don't get too caught up by this glossy screen hype. I have both glossy screen and matte screen LCD and I prefer matte screen. The fact that glossy screen's color is a tad more vibrant, I cannot stand the amount of dust visible on the screen. If color is important for you, go for IPS panel, the color is so much better, even a matte IPS panel outshines a TN glossy panel. My advice to you, instead going for HP 22" glossy TN, get the DELL 22" e-IPS panel. Warranty wise, DELL pwns HP already. My 2cts.

@kianwee >> dude, can u give me any solution on Samsung 2333sw or Dell S2409W? hehe... Looks like you know a thing or two about LCD.
*
If I were you, S2409W would be my choice, extra 1" and HDMI input. But make sure the warranty is really legitimate because AFAIK, DELL RMA based on the registered address during purchase. (I assume you're getting from forumer below market price)

i like 16:10 than 16:9, like when i see benq e2200hd i feel like, why it is too wide ,but when i see 2233bw i feel it is nice.
lol..i don't think there is anything wrong with my eye, it is just what i prefer.

btw, what is the suitable monitor for my budget?
*
Exactly. I prefer 16:10 more as it it gives me more room vertically to do my daily work.
