if I'm not mistaken, kbps is for kilobits per second and kb/s is for kilobytes per second, right?

Wikipedia got the formula:
CODE
kbps → KiBps ((n * 1000) / 8) / 1024 = m

((1000 * 1000) / 8) / 1024 = 122kB/s

so definitely kilobytes value should have been smaller than kilobits value am I right ali?

yeah so, but kilobits per seconds should been written as kbit/s or kbps, kb/s is kilobytes per second. Go here, take a look closely http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilobit_per_s...obit_per_second

'b' vs 'B'

'b' stands for 'bit' and 'B' stands for 'byte', where one byte refers to 8 bits. This can lead to confusion, as when a "1 Mega" connection is advertised, it usually means 1 Mibit/s (mebibit per second) or 1.049 Mbit/s (megabit per second), meaning the maximum achievable download speed is actually about 128 KiB/s (kibibyte per second) or 131 kB/s (kilobyte per second).

ISP's just like to use bits to make the number look big, have to remind yourself to divide by 8 and minus another 20% overhead.

i'm surpised anyway, for some1 who download a lot, dun really know the difference between bit and bytes and their standard nomination, and dare to say he knows wat he's writing....
not intentional flame, but your statement really sounded like tin kosong until you got corrected...
i don't go around correcting ppl to shame them, just that obvious mistakes like tat should be avoided, and u make so many misinformed statements tat will only make a fool of yourself when people in the know read it
