i feel like n82 sound quality is quite good , doesnt let me down , n82 sound quality of cause way better then n73 dude .

i realise most ppl who say the sound isnt good...are those who either...
1. think lots of bass is good, ie. megabass
2. doesnt know how to eq or do settings properly
3. are using the regular headsets

seriously, cannot expect high end quality sound...
but i will still take this over any ipod and gay itunes.

Thats true enough for me. SE has better SQ external speakers and play ringtones with better clarity and difinition to my ear. N82 have stereo speakers as an advantage whereas SE mostly mono. Thats another issue and don't matter. Win some loose some.

But the sound is too soft. If turned around 80% and above, distortion sound produced. Anyhow, I am happy with N82's performance in every aspect.

hey , can i know why after i upgraded my firmware to v30 , when i open Nokia Maps my phone will hang ?? once it hangs i cant do anything , when i press and hold the menu key , it shows the map when i press close aplication nothing happens . totally hang , i need to open the back of my phone and take out the battery and put it in to on back my phone . Only when i use nokia maps , anyone have this problem too ?? anyway to solve it ?

ok , i've figure it out wat makes my n82 with v30 firmware hangs when using nokia maps v2 . i've check forums and many people have this problem , here are the steps to cure your phone .

Step 1. I deleted The "CITIES" folder from the memory card. i mean the whole damn folder.

Step 2. Installed the official version[1.2] for N82 over the Beta 2.0.

Step 3. Downloaded new maps and voice using maploader

thank god ~ my n82 is back to normal , <3

means using maps 1.2 instead of 2.0?

yea haha , cause when i use 2.0 my phone lags and hang . cant even use 2.0 at all . i can only use 1.2 . hehe

I tested with Creative EP-630 (one of the best midrange earphone with strong bass) and Mylar X3i (great vocal and treble IEM that smoke a lot of earphone). The sound quality of N82 still cannot beat K800i with using the same IEM. K800i produce lesser noise, clearer sound, and better sound stage. However N series music player is better. ~

Haha...that's why I don't dare to update my firmware version to V30. Later if not successful, brick my phone, or else got problem this and that. Glad you solved your problem on Nokia Maps.

and now using shure scl-2.

to me, N82 is good enough...since i use it mainly to listen while on the lrt etc.

and i dunno why u find the N series music player better.
i find it highly irritating especially when i have to refresh the player for every time i add a mp3, even for 1 single mp3...
at least with SE...the track is automatically there to be played...no need irritating refreshing which takes a few mins to do considering i have at least 1000 mp3s on the 8gb card.

also the N series player...if the mp3 u put on has no song data...its all thrown into the unknown folder...which again is highly stupid...
or even if one of the songs in the folder has a different album title or mispelt...u have to go search for it...which isnt easy with 1000 over mp3s.
with SE...u can still search and add in music player via the actual folder name thats u saved on the phone...rather than searching for artist or album title...

so no point for N series having better EQ or watever features if its not as user friendly.

yea..tat 1 of de bad when wan to add new songs,need to find it through de long list.. anything new vit dis n82 nowadays coz quite boring when nth to new to it..
