what you can DIY is:
-use a powerdrill with a small bit to grind off the top piece of the screw. then after safe removal, try to grind of the remaining of the screw with an even smaller bit (this is risky work).
otherwise, it's really hard as screws on laptops are pretty small. being a flathead screw doesn't help much in this case.

the same ol' reply QUOTE(E-J@1 @ May 14 2008, 07:49 PM) one way to force remove it by drill it all the way in your case its not an option as it is a laptop left one option super duper glue (epoxy or any other damn hard adhesive material) the screw driver with the spoilt screw head this will make the screw driver stick to the spoilt screw head really really hard (as if they were one part altogether) then just unscrew it http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/696439/

There is actually a kind of specific tool to remove screws like these. Piece of very hard metal rod pointed at one end. Pointed end has thread just like screws, but in reverse direction. So you'll need to drill a very small hole, and screw in the tool to the screw. Used to own a set, but now not with me. Available at hardware stores. ^^^^^^^^^ This post has been edited by sotplug: Oct 29 2008, 11:48 PM
