The things was, I already googled up and found out the output are different.. some got 3.6v, 1800mA, some 5v, 2000mA etc. That's why i ask in here. If all the same, i won't ask and wasting your time. The questions is can i use any of the chargers that has different power output??

the ultimate answer would be yes.
at your own risk of damaging your psp and/or battery.

go get one that is closest to the original's output, which is 5.0v 2000mA.

what action can be taken of a PSP (slim) is bricked?
can the PSP be "formatted" and if so, any advice on how it can be done?
correct me if im wrong but the M33 drivers are partly functioned to ensure that default setting could be restored - comments? icon_question.gif

Well, if it's semi-bricked, then the M33 recovery menu can be used to run recovery flashers like Hellcat's Recovery Flasher and so on. But if you have a fully bricked psp slim with no access to the recovery menu, your only option is the Pandora's Battery. Pop it up into your unit, and install the custom firmware of your choice.

Hello all. I've got some psp relate problems that i want some help with the guru's in here....

I have a fat psp with (unfortunately) ta-082 mobo, with original cfw 2.80 oea. So after reading all the good recomendation from LYN forumer about bernand shop (GAMERS SOLUTION), i went to his shop. Make no mistake, his service is truly wonderful. He readily upgraded ( with a price ofcourse) my cfw... but here's the problem. he said that my psp couldn't be upgraded to cfw 5.00......only to 4.00 only.

Is this something related to my psp mobo afterall? Is my psp destined to use up to 4.00 cfw?

I thought that when you have the fat psp one, it is the most cfw capable....more than 2000 and 3000 model?

Please, could someone clarify my problem..... icon_question.gif

Thanks.

(sorry for double postings at another topic... sweat.gif )

Yes, Lacus, you're right. That makes no sense at all. You psp should be able to go up to the latest firmware without any problems blkxiicat. Also, note that your previous firmware wasn't 2.80oe. It most probably was an SE firmware.

Here's what Bernard could have done.

2.80 cfw --> 3.52m33-4 --> 4.01m33 or he would have used a reflasher program (like Hellcat's).
He might have also used a Pandora's Battery with a stick set to install 4.01m33 directly.

Anyways, don't worry about it. 4.01m33 is a good firmware. I'm on it, and it works just fine for me.

Also, custom firmware updates are free. Do not pay money to some shop keeper who DID NOT develop the firmware just to upgrade your custom firmware. Basically, here's what you're paying your money for.

For the shopkeeper to connect your PSP to his laptop etc, transfer a folder (UPDATE), and a .pbp file and then just scroll to the game tab and run the upgrader. The developer (Dark_AleX) releases all his firmwares and developments for free for the psp sceners to use and enjoy... but paying to someone else for using a tool that he DID NOT make? I don't think so.

So please, in the future, try not paying people for stuff they do not deserve. You can instead, donate to the developer for his awesome work.

Be more specific mate smile.gif

If you wish to perform a firmware upgrade, and you wish to obtain the files for it, then it shouldn't be a problem at all. Use your favourite psp news site. IE psp-hacks.com, eXophase.com, dark-alex.org, consolespot.net etc. All the firmware and update files should be there. smile.gif

Well.....i don't quite remember what are my previous cfw is.....maybe 2.7x or 2.8x..... but it is cfw and with OEA at the back......

Yes. I think is the the method that is used by him.....

Well.... there is something that just quite not 'complete' without latest cfw..... such as inability to play newest games.

Noo....don't flame me.... I am a noob in psp.... doh.gif
I have to clarify this. Yes, I also didn't want to pay any money for doing something that you can DIY, but i have some doubt for upgrading my psp myself. Mainly because of all the MOBO thingy. I kept thinking, "my MOBO is TA0-082 ones. Can i updated it to M33 from OEA by myself? What can i do if my psp became 'batu-bata'?" Cost of unbricking is much more expensive than a simple cfw upgrade (at that time)......

I bought my psp from my friend shop at october 07'. I think at that time my cfw is (almost) the latest one. No M33 at that time. No pandora technique at that time. I asking the same friend, "if i want to upgrade my cfw how much? 300 ringgit. Why so expensive? If the upgrading fail, this 300 will cover for the new MOBO ma...." So, i'm using my 'outdated' psp for almost two years before i began searching here in LYN for good, reputable shop for upgrading. And thankfully i've gotten this far.... thanks to LYN communities.

Anyway enough rambling.... Basicly, that is the (small) price that i have too pay for not brave enough to DIY my psp myself. Trauma.....

So.....

Can i pm you in private Lacus and Playboy21? Just wanna to follow up in installing 5.00 one...

blkxiicat, no no, i'm not flaming you mate, it's just an advise. If you don't feel confident of yourself, seek help from fellow forumers like Lacus and benwong88 who both offer upgrading + pandora service for a decent price. You don't need to pay like RM50 (example) for an upgrade. Just advising lah bro' biggrin.gif

Sure, feel free to PM me. smile.gif

Nope, that is not true. All psp units can be upgraded. Those days, 1.50 -> 2.80 were advised against upgrading to higher firmwares as the downgrading process would become harder (requires UMD's etc), so yea, maybe that's what he meant.

These days, no need to worry about that tongue.gif

By the way, congratz MaverickWarrior biggrin.gif Welcome to the psp club.
