ipod touch uses lithium battery.
lithium batteries like to be topped off.
i try not to let the battery meter reach half way. do not 'deep cycle' lithium batteries (run them to almost flat)
when i see the battery is a bit down, i charge it.

the following are myths (bullshit) about lithium batteries:
1: first charge must charge ipod overnight.
2: keep the ipod plugged in 24 hours a day.
3: run the battery flat once a week/ two weeks/ month.

lithium battery
*Charge often*.
charge every day if possible. when your battery reaches 70% you can charge already. if you need to use it for longer, no problem. but if you're not using your ipod, just plug in the charger when it reaches 70% or less.
try not to let it reach 50%. this is why lithium batteries are chosen for phones and ipods. reasons:
a. you don't have to completely discharge your phone battery daily.(discharge daily means you need at least one battery. like maybe 14 years ago)
B. they are light/not heavy. they have high energy (mah) per gram.
c. they are the only battery that you can use that allows to be charged two or three times a day or whenever it reaches two or three bars of power.
Nickle metal hydrate nimh:
charge when almost flat. it will self discharge 1.5% per day.
*normally you have to charge them before you use them.*
they don't like being charged every day.

nickle cadmium
not common any more.
you MUST finish them before you charge them. the chargers usually have a discharge function. if not large crystals will form INSIDE the battery and it won't hold so much charge (memory effect).
if you charge and full discharge a few times (reconditioning) you can make the battery better again because the crystals get smaller.

every time you touch your ipod touch and the screen lights up, that drinks battery life.
the backlight on full or max will drain the battery.
wifi will eat battery too.
just charge your ipod touch often.

i never use the ipod touch eq.
i do however tweak the equalizer on my sony zplod head unit and the bass and trebble on my altec lansing vs4121
ipos equaliser too strong... it gives distortion

hmmm that will explain why i need to keep chargeing it. i dun use the slide to turn off thingy.

hey guys, how about a device that has a touch screen, same technology as the ipod touch 2g, same resolution, but is 10 inch screen. but same resolution as the ipod touch. that way, the ipod graphics precessor doesn't have to work harder and confirm compatible with all apps.
that means everything will BE NICE AND BIG

the device will be just a screen and batteries that you slide or dock your ipod touch into.

ipod touch 163pixels per inch. it can view a web page in full screen. i'm 23 and i can barely see the individual pixels at an arm's length. wikipedia for example. if you zoom so the text is readable, you must scroll left, right and up down. annoying. don't they realise that zooming and text size is not quite the same?
