Although Far cry 2 graphic level is not on par with crysis but its environment is way bigger.
Probably you need a higher processor rather than the graphic level. Hopefully this game will offer a different experience for open world theme (hell i don't another crysis gimmick) Only mass effect broke the 90 rating at metacritic & game ranking this year for pc (and its a ported title !!!) |

Far Cry2 seems like a great games. I tired with all those FPS with aliens and monster. Since FC2 have none of these 2 elements then it might be interesting and I can't think of any FPS games that took place in Savannah.

No wonder Charles Onyett (the big gun) himself reviews it. IGN normally review the game 1 day b4 release or at the day itself. The fact it only came
today highlight the fact that they really test it in detail. The summary is like this : Pro : Map environment is really huge, Con : not much interaction / repeatitive mission Pro : Scaleable engine, Con : Its not crysis level Pro : Weapons really good, Con : Sometimes enemies AI can go awry (significantly less comapred to stalker) One thing that he mentione dvery clearly / explicitly : Farcry 2 was not farcry nor crysis but a game of its own league. |

post some poison screenshot 1st heheeh i juz try it out at 1st section oni , u can choose the character to ply , then a boring start travel with the jeep dunnoe how many min ...... then the main character pening then suddenly kena capture sia

i can run it on directx 10 mode and can still get over 40fps. and that with 2x AA. |

Seems that the engine is superbly optimized even for mid end rig? Nice job to the developer but sales may be badly affected due to piracy.

Pros:
- Considering the installer is only 3.8GB, quite a lot of stuff packed in it. - Seamless map travelling. - Crazy good graphics engine. Can play on all high with 1280x960 2x AA DX10 on my HD3870 no lag at all. - Quite realistic (weapon jams, cars break down but can be fixed, etc.) - Map system pretty unique. Cons: - Too much travelling around. - FPS controls a bit too clunky, can't lean left or right, hard to sneak since no prone stance. - Weapon jams are a bloody killer in firefights. Not to mention weapon ammo is limited. - Have to develop double focus to use the map properly, lol. Overall, quite an impressive game though. well if its not that i dont know what really.
i only have those problem when running the +2 trainer i got from GameBurnWorld. it shake exactly like ur video there but when i throw a greande the shake disappear for a bit but came back. |

hmmmm..... found out that Far Cry 2 lock up if i alt+tab, there is no way to restore it back and have to end task it.... is this a common problem or im the only 1 facing the problem.... anyway to solve it?
another question is about nvidia physX... im playing this on my lappy (as stated in my signature)... i wonder should i activate the GPU physX or off it for best performance... try pausing the game then alt+tabbing,it works...although sometimes the mouse pointer wont appear and u have to ctrl+alt+delete to open task manager to get the mouse pointer back =.=
im using 178.13 for my 8800gt |

no problem wif the game....Dx 10 + ultra high + AA x2.......collecting diamond now...so far 60 only.....and i feel the game is abit disappointed......the mission are keep doing the samething over & over & over & over again....and the physics does really that good compare to crysis.......and the story is extreme boring.....compare to far cry 1....it just like another STALKER feeling game...oh well....zzz

yesterday i was cruising the swamp river with a boat but haven't seen any alligator or crocs near the swamp area..... i thought africa suppose to have alot of this creatures ??? |

Y owes ppl think dx10 will slower than dx9? It is becos of optimizing prob so it will be slower. If teh coding is good, then the game will be faster. Probably this time ati and far cry 2 dunia engine coding good, using dx10.1, so will be faster.

my 8800gt gets 19-21 fps when under the sun or very dakr conditons....im using vista 32 bit....i sitll dont know why my 8800gt underperform...btw my reso is 1280X1024...is it because my LCD to small?

well , i think they rush this game out so story and mission kinda repeat , compare to crysis, crysis is more dramatic and better.

I have a problem with this game's control. Everytime I use a mounted gun, I can't unmount. I tried using the default keys to exit but I can't. I remap it, still I can't. I'm just stuck on the gun. Anyone else have this problem?

hmm anyway doesnt really like this game and on my setting those farcry2 ati hotfixes break all other my games such as grid performe tremendously low on cf and my brother in arms hell highway always crash which it doesnt happen to me before..

the part, where it first asking u to track the diamond with the GPS, what should i do, after i've got the green light stagnant (indicating the diamond crate is near). |

When the light is permanently green, it only means you're POINTING in the right direction. If you continue in this direction, eventually you'll hear a loud beeping sound indicating that the diamond is VERY near.

This game does not like my Audigy 4 sound card. Every time I pick up a med kit I get a freaking BSOD...damn weird
Using integrated audio atm, but in any case I can't get surround sound on this game at all. |

The game stutters on ATI cards. The hotfix didn't do much. Ubisoft keeps screwing with ATI eh? Fallout 3 comes out...this game is going to be tuck away till I have nothing left to play.

For all its faults, i'm still having fun. What gets me is the hitbox bugs, weapon damage and behind cover damage.
You crouch behind a wall... aim and fire... but the shot doesn't do anything. It either doesn't hit your target OR it hits the wall even when you've clearly cleared the top edge of the wall and you have a good clear aim at the wanker. |

yeah for once, it has its own uniqueness:
-weapons jam, fire itself when it's broken, -time/weather effect , eg fire spreads accordingly to wind direction IMO, Cons: - enemies take some loads of hit to get them killed - irritating cut scenes of removing bullets from parts of your body |

I'm still on HD3870. Tried Vsync as well. Nothing solved. Dx9 work ok, looks the same. I don't know about framerates though. But I could tell the lighting is different in Dx10. Oh well...gonna ditch it till they fix it. Fallout 3 and Red Alert 3 coming in tomorrow. Bye bye Far Cry 2...for the mean time. |

stage 2 is more fun than stage 1, oh the snipers in this game is too overpowered

I uninstall the hotfix and used back 8.10 - it stutters. I reinstall the hotfix - it still stutters. i usually take the jeep with a .50cal on top one, so when i'm near to guard post i just need to press "C" to switch to manning the .50cal and waste all of 'em so i don't have to jump out of the vehicle unless it's gonna explode

Dunia engine probably has nothing to do with placement of save points. I think.
I'm also guessing it has to do with putting save points onto the console version. |

Console also can quick save wat... There si nothing to do with console. I play fable 2 can save anywhere. It is becos it wants to simulate like u can just save anywhere for carebear mode. If u can save anywhere, got challenge? U can just save before a boss fight, when die, load again, rinse and repeat until u win.

Not all games on console can quick save.
Hell, not all games on PC can quick save. You bring up Fable 2, which doesn't prove anything for Far Cry 2. If Far Cry 2 on console ALSO can save anywhere, then, well, the save points are reminders, I guess. |

I'm OK with the game, I have put Very High settings too. Overall it looks good.
The game's all OK - but I have to say something about it. The combat mechanism (or toe-to-toe combat) is not good. And they have put too much distractions, I spent the whole game only driving and killing the hombres that will harrass the player when getting past the checkpoints/guardposts. The diamond hunt bores me, and on certain times I end up digging diamonds for the weapon upgrades. Other than this, the controls are not perfect - it's halfway broken. It's still better than the PC Version of Assassin's Creed though, where the game exhibits "all the buttons on the keyboard glued together" syndrome. |

this game gets old very quickly..
crysis is way better than this hyped game.. I wouldn't complain if this game title is something like "driving simulator 2" And also, car hav no physics at all.. even small rocks on the ground can stop the cars better than the brakes.. AI is noob .. and using wall hack all over the place.. Lastly, annoying random car that suddenly try to run over me.. Disappointing... |

Honestly I dunno why are you guys so proud by doing piracy? It's nothing to be proud of.
Anyways, just got the game yesterday, and I must say I lol'ed at the graphic menu. High, Very High or Ultra High. AHAHAHAHAHAHA On the other hand, the gameplay is different from Crysis. I mean in Crysis I can go gung-ho inside an enemy's stronghold as I know I can rely on the suit. Here I rather use stealth to save my bullets and my ass. There are some bugs where even if you stand directly in front of a click able object, the "hand" icon won't appear unless you twist around and find the sweet spot. Also the diamond hunt is very annoying, not to mention that I have been groomed with the keys of HL2's game (CS, TF2, etc), thus for me, "Q" is change to another weapon, NOT throw a grenade. I have burned countless forest and buildings because I mistakenly thrown a molotov, when what I wanted was just to change my gun |

I'm still 27% of the game progress. It just went too slow. All because of the travelling, I might easily get bored. Hope someone actually make some sort of 'checkpoint' modification where they removed those respawning from the unlocked checkpoints. Heh heh.

Heck, just finished the game. Twice. During the last act, near the end, that's where the real game play starts, that's where I can enjoy. But before that, I really miss Crysis. |

Tip : go offroad Missions wise, yeah its boring in some ways and what pissed me off is the outpost the needed to be cleared out each time i passby. Sometimes i ended up doing a hit and run, throw a few grenade on some explosive spots like vehicles or barrels or gas tanks and drive off The AI is rather natural and funny. If you purchased a camo suit and hide in a high bush, a patrol stood in front of you and say "i think i see something"..pause... "look around, stay on high grounds" ..pause... "i think i missed him".. happened to me a couple of times. Another scene is when you throw a nade to them, the militia will just shout "watch out! Grenade!" and instead of running far, he crouch a few feet away from the nade for "hiding" |

Hahaha! Yeah, i do face the same problem but only at the undertaker undergound hideout. Took me 5 mins plus to "lure" him out from his hiding spot.
Anyway, more funny moments to share. Those jeep patrol is another fun thing to kill. Last night in my gameplay, i roll into one of them so i jump off my precious Jeep Wrangler to avoid it being shot and i hide behind this big tree and maneuver according to the charging jeep patrol. The gunner got off the jeep flanking from the right so i killed him and left the driver. He was reversing and ramming onto the tree until the jeep explodes I laugh non-stop while looking how stupid he is.Another jeep related joke, I was scouting this new outpost and accidentally shot my sniper rifle. So the militias go scattering around to find and while some jump into the jeep. Thanks to the driver of the jeep, he reversed, killed 2 mate hiding behind the jeep while killing another one who was looking for cover while accelerating. Only left is him, the jeep gunner and a sniper uphill But my theory goes here, i realized that some militias have certain attitude. Those with vest die trying while those half naked with bandolier seem to be abit timid and love to hide till the all clear confirmation by their mate. For those who have motion sickness playing this game, try turning on the crosshair. It might help you overcome it. Unfortunately only while your character is on foot as no crosshair while driving.

Tried MP for Far Cry 2 earlier yesterday. It is not worth the gameplay. Only mode that is catchy is Capture the Diamond. IMO, the SP is more engaging than the MP itself.
Far Cry 2 vs. Fallout 3, well from my view, Far Cry 2 suits those who love exploring while doing recon work against environment while Fallout 3 couldnt content most of the Fallout fans, it lacks some "ommpph". Though its humor is just as good as its previous release. Far Cry 2 leans more towards the cinematic quality instead of engaging gameplay where the environment "interacts" with the player. Conclusion, Far Cry 2 is only worth on the story mode. If you have seizure or dizziness, do not PLAY THIS GAME. My gf got dizzy, puke, faint after just looking at me driving at the desert for a few seconds. |

ur proc kinda bottleneck edy...
even before this i'm using E2160 OCed to 3.2 still lag like hell while playing Crysis... then i change to x3320 no lag at all with 1280*1024 mainstream setting... maybe its time to change ur CPU?? and dont forget to add some rams there... 4GB is d best for latest gaming... if ppls said it overkill, heck i tested it edy... so its up to u who to believe... |

i found 2 in the game, 1 in act 1, the other is in finale area (place of no return) where u can climb on fallen tree lean on a cliff. just across it n u will find it.
in act1, cant really remember where, i think somewhere south east of act 1 map inside a abandon hut, there is a road to it (main road where u can see em in map unlike small path to most save house which doesnt shown on map) n at the end of the road. check map on road to square dot with a road to it. |

my rig... C2D E4300 oc'ed to 2.4GHz, 2GB memory, 8800GT stock, Vista Home Premium SP1. Running at DX10, 1680*1050 reso, very high, with no AA, I am getting quite smooth framerate, average at 40 while running the benchmark.

What OS are you using? Vista 32-bit have no problem running but Vista 64-bit have issues, same goes to Windows XP 64-bit. Set the compatibility mode to Windows XP should fix the problem

Oh man I've told to kill one of the UFLL guys then I was betrayed by the one who ordered me so. Then I was on the hit list and they're going to after my buddies and the priest before me. So I went to my buddies and they all got killed

i haateee the driiviing paarrtt. i stucked in a jam for thirty minutes only to get home and drive yet again. T_T And the thing is farcry 2 reduce the vertical view when playing on a widescreen to achieve 16:9 ratio T_T That means it sorta zoomed in and that is why causing some motion sickness and difficulty to see the map while driving

As u can see here, more FOV (Field of View) = more details u can see on the screen.  The the "blue" bars/highlighted are the additional fov for widescreen users (have to use hack to get proper fov for widescreen as u know the default fov screwed up by chopped-off fov). I do not know how to explain but think the gaming experience with FarCry2 is totally different from the original FarCry and the CRYSIS, it has a unique feel of it own.
Just playing the 1st scene and not in love with this game yet, maybe need to keep on playing until I can fall in love with it. 1 more thing for this FarCry2, the system requirements for this game seems very high, it is even higher than the CRYSIS-Warhead. I get better frame rates in Warhead compare to this FarCry2. Maybe their DUNIA engine is very resource hungry? |

i played this game not more than 3 hours then uninstall already. the game play is very s**k for me..the action and emotion of the characters inside the game is freaking bad....this is my own opinion.hehe...u may like it....

Erm...maybe
How about the side mission ? I only finish 25 out of 40...is the assassination mission u get from the radio tower consider as side mission? I kinda dislike the ending seriously... EDIT : WTH ? I restarted the game to try out those hidden mission and my rescue buddy is freaking killing me. I kinda like this game. It really does gives player lots of freedom compared to any other FPS except GTA4

hey guys, i just tried far cry 2...quite realistic game and beautiful but still need a lot of improvement from the lazy ubisoft...
I had a few probs with this game too, when i play the game i got artifacts ( green dot and few others artifact ), and also weird lags ( the fps never drop but the game just lag, probably mouse lag? ) i set the display setting to all ultra high, 8x AA, v-sync enabled, and using it in dx10... but i found out that if i set the game to dx9 the lag and the artifact just gone...maybe the "DUNIA" engine dx10 prob ? |

I've switched to the 180.43 driver just now. A slight boost in FPS
Previously I'm only gettting around an average 23FPS in med settings. Now I got around 27 |
