My atom life just hang when i play the tone for sms receive tone. Is this firmware issue, need to upgrade?

Hi all,

Just change from O2 Stealth to Atom Life (screen broken). Nice to see this thread still going on instead of dead thread.

Few questions to ask.

1) My atom life got it as second hand unit, using XP-09 battery, kinda short usage time. Thinking to get a new battery, is XP-02 alright to use? Price around RM55-65 acceptable? Saw some other type of battery with higher MAH, can I use those? Anyone use before?

2) What is the cleanest and most stable WM6.1 rom among all those link? I don't need any of the built-in software as I have most of 3rd party software that I prefered. I'm looking for a rom with no or less bugs, means I can use fully feature of it not lag here and there (stealth wm6.1 was not working on mms).

Thank you.
*
huh?? u mean ur atom life screen broken or stealth?? hmm.gif

1) yes... i did read from other forums claiming that you can use xp-02 as ur atom life battery as well. and they say it performs better than xp-09(not sure bout tis, since i din test it b4). the price you get isnt expensive. but it depends on whether its ori or china ayam brand or better quality non-ori batts. you can choose to buy those higher mAh batteries as well. but the con side of it is tat the battery size is way bigger/thicker. and they include a customize thick cover for it. so ur atom life will become like.... pregnant blush.gif

2) ermm.... it depends on ur own preference as well. the 6.1 roms with touchflo UI will look nicer. while the roms with jus normal winmo UI or HTC home UI will be simple n consume less ram, and less laggy. i cant say tat all are bug free. i'm using the 3rd one. not the latest, but currently still working fine for me. all roms are preinstalled with a lot of useful softwares n some mini winmo games. it wont eat much space anyway.

I just came across with some article from china forum, it seem to be pretty easy by using their software, just that not sure whether it can do the tricks to speed up and more ram or not. Will need to do more research first. Removing extra software from rom is very easy but removing registry key ain't easy job because a tiny mess up might brick the phone. I've success to made my own rom for stealth with useless software remove and added in extra software but can't get my hand on registry stuff...
*
not bad wo...
but atleast u got a stealth to do some testing.... haha tongue.gif

next time we here got our very own atom rom cookers ady rclxm9.gif

i've updated another wm6.5 beta rom for atom life, tis time it support english ady smile.gif

here's some pictures:

from what i learned from other forums, the few noticable basic difference between wm6.1 n wm6.5 is:
-pre-installed netCF 3.5
-Office : 6.1
-New and improved IE
-New Honey Comb Start Menu
-finger friendly tody screen

performance wise... need self testing onli noe lo.
anyway... its still under beta release.

Hi, I was wondering is any1 having the battery problem wif their o2 phone? I recently bought a o2 2s(2nd hand), the 1st day go well and the battery is rechargeable. But the problem came at 2nd day when the battery run out,I cant charge my battery anymore (i.e. the battery signal light is on and it stated is charging but few hours it stiill 0%). so, i took my o2 back and the seller replace another 1 to me, o2 atom. The same thing happend to this phone. So, I took it back again and he say will change another o2 atom to me 2morow.  Anythig wrong wif those o2 phone? Is the shop selling faulty device or is my problem? Please advice me. thank you
*
as mentioned in #2nd post, earlier batch of atom devices always have battery problems. in sense that their battery does last long, weak batt performance, auto shut-off etc problem...

but your problem seems to be charging problem. so i dont think its the battery problem.
a few causes:
-faulty charger
-spoilt charging slot(on device)
-hardware failure(device problem)
-software failure(unknown?)

well... be sure to check properly your device for any other problems b4 your limited warranty runs out. since its a 2nd hand, your quite lucky ur seller change it for you. be sure to check it again.
plz look at the #2 post at "B4 buying a new/2nd hand phone spoiler" shud be helpful in identifying problematic 2nd hand phones.

how to install the application in the o2 xda atom???
me not understand..
is it install in memory card or device

and why my clock always change when i connected in to computer.???
always change.??
im not understand why..
*
when installing, it will prompt to ask you whether to install in ur device or memory card.
u can choose wher you wanna install it.

normally all application installation files comes in .cab file types.
put the file in ur mem card or device. then use file explorer to open the file. then it will start installing.

ermm.... ther's an option to sync ur clock?? hmm.gif

Need some help over here. Recently i also dunno what is wrong with my atom life:-

1) Call coming in then after 2 or 3 ring then suddenly the whole pda shutdown, and i have no idea how to diagnose this problem.

2) After taking out the sim card then when i switch on back the pda it actually works, but then when i restart it with the sim card in then after loading the windows it will shut down by itself.

3) Later on, i perform the hard reset which is yesterday then somehow the problem seems like resolved and i am experiencing for the second time.
Although, things have been solved but i still wonder why this type of things can happen. Can someone enlighten me with this problem. rclxub.gif
*
ermm.... did you take note of your battery level when tis problem happened??

Just flashed the WM6.1, 28M free ram one, first WM6.1 rom. Now testing, so far the memory seem to be increase a lot company to WM6 official O2 rom. Feel that some of the programs useless to me, might consider to put my hands on this rom, reduce some of the application and put my own application in. Long way to go....keep on reading article now.

Btw, anyone know how to automatically turn off the screen during phone call? I got that feature with my Stealth WM6.1 but Life WM6.1 don't have such option to select, could it be registry modification? Can save a lot of battery if can turn off the screen during phone call.
*
ooo... u flashed in which one??
ram is really a important for atoms, since atoms are build with low low low built in rams T_T
always insufficient.

ermm... u mean fully turn of the screen or jus the back light??

after some testings... i manage to flash the wm6.5 into my atom life.

ermm.... overall, its a nice rom. but since its still in its beta version. its considerable those official beta release. (which is not cooked)

-nice finger friendly user interface.

-the new today screen is good. finger scrolling up n down is nice. big icons for easy finger tapping. user friendly today screen (evolved frm the previous 2day screen.)

-new default contact book. new look. enable finger scrolling. larger slots for easy finger tapping

-honey comb start menu is a fresh new look. i kinda like to concept. but 1 thing for sure is..... its very very very messy n unorganized. if we put too much things into our start menu without sorting it up in different folders(unlike sorted out wm6.1 cooked roms start menu). the honey comb start menu is gonna be as messy as the honey comb.....
though... its finger tap n scroll friendly. easy scrolling n tapping.

-overall interface/windows default font change. all looks sleek n nice. loading icon changed.

-tested not much apps, but some apps seems to be buggy working in wm6.5(task manager, wsTask, battery indicator, etc other UI apps)

-and as aways, official release roms tend to provide very less free rams. lets hope cooked once are released soon to solve tis ram problem.

-overall, booting n start up loading seems way slower compared to cooked roms. but generally, all official release are slow on booting.

-bluetooth is working fine. supports a2dp.
-din notice much difference with wi-fi performance

-new office.
ermm.... what else i missed out??

i dont noe how to flash using ruu.exe..

and

if we want intall a new os for atom..
should we do a hardspl.??
should we use it.??
i confuse about hardspl.
*
hm.... plz becareful with hardspl.
i've never done it with my phone b4 (nvr found a really good and trusworthy guide to do it). so plz be extra cautious bout hardspl-ing ur atom.
way way more easy to brick ur phone than flashing.... but if done corectly... then ur phone is like free from jail tongue.gif
