QUOTE(elfreakz @ Feb 22 2009, 04:05 AM) It is ok to feed them dry food as daily food. El, i always wanted my cat to get fat. so i tried to feed her with 1 can of wet food every evening as dinner and free feeding her with dry food since a month ago. and i brought her to vet just now for vaccination, and guess wat....she gained 0.4kg!!!! Adding extra dish will be something like supper. you can feed extra dish maybe 2-3 times a week. not too frequent, because you might end up getting a fussy and choosy cats. since daily food is the dry food, its convenient to feed this type of food to your cat. you might not want to end up feeding that extra dish everyday right. Extra dish we talking about here is the wet food that is sold in petshop for cats. Example such as whiskas, friskies, science plan wet food (cane food). You can also make your own. Google and search for Cat food recipes / Home made cat food. Simple one is raw or half boil chicken or meat. don't add any flavor or oil. its not good for the cats. no human cook food for cats please. it is not good. no extra flavor, spices, onion, ginger, etc. Lastly, cat treat. you can buy this at the petshop. my cats love the tuna flavor stick treat. others like catnip cookies, sushi salmon treat, etc. again, not too frequent, else they will want it everyday eheheh. too much treat is not good too. -- Completing all of the above, will conclude the owner as busy person good luck |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Feb 22 2009, 05:28 PM) Good improvement. but not too fat ok. i prefer my cat to look masculine rather then too fat. thx for ur advice El. she is now 3kg, the ideal weight for DSH if not mistaken. saw a table about the ideal weight for different breed of cat at vet's place last month.if u want a good one, feed super premium food toothbrush and toothpaste, must buy from vet or petshop only. brush will be the softest on, because kitten/cat gums is very sensitive. like human we have soft, medium and hard type right. toothpaste u need to get the one made for cats.. i saw that segar vets. if your cat is still eating dry food, will still be ok. because dry food is also design to remove tar tar on the teeth, when the cat crunch it. there is also treat for dental care. and also science plan has oral care type of food, u can buy small pack and feed your cat sometimes with it. she is fed with RC fit 32 now. and i got a sample packet of innova evo from a pet shop last week. she didnt like it. i still have half packet left. ht price at that pet shop is RM70 for 3kg. not much difference with RC actually. so how to make her likes innova evo? |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Feb 22 2009, 11:08 PM) weight = body length. oh i see....but where can i buy Origen. i seldom see this brand. tats is why cant do the price research. check out Is My Cat Overweight? -- my cats don't face innova evo that much, but they sure do love ORIJEN. the price is not much different between innova evo, orijen, and RC.. but remember... Innova Evo and Orijen is super premium food. the contain is 100%, and 0% grains.. RC is the most expensive in premium food (others are SP, iams, eagle pack, etc)... premium food contain grains.. it is not 100% meat/chicken.. so if u have a few cats.. go for orijen/innova evo.. its good... because fully protein and fat. no carbo and unwanted grains. |

Added on February 23, 2009, 7:07 pm QUOTE(elfreakz @ Feb 23 2009, 04:40 PM) orijen 7kg is RM140++ thx El....but the 4kg of RC can last for more than 3 months for my cat. now still have quite a lot left. so i cant imagine when she can finish the 7kg. orijen 3kg is RM60++ orijen 1kg is rm30++ so better buy 7kg..because buying 3kg x 3 packs will be rm180.. orijen is for both kitten and adult. so u no need to worry buying kitten type or adult type. --- RC fit32 is for adult... QUOTE(elfreakz @ Feb 23 2009, 07:45 PM) i think because that one is RC Kitten "36".. 36 is cheaper... but 32 is expensive. try compare RC Kittern 32 price is adult RC. tats y i told u she was thin. LOL!!! maybe let her try origen small pack 1st. hopefully she will like it. and i also think, RC persian adult is much more expensive than Fit. and sensible is the cheapest RC right? yaiks your cat eat 4kg more than 3 months? my kitten age 5 months eating iams kitten 3kg = 1 1/2 months. u try change it to iams, if it finish faster than RC, thats mean all this while your cat do not fancy RC.. if it finish faster, thats mean they love it so much. |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Mar 2 2009, 07:07 PM) let see... the pup is a mix of Labrador and chihuahua. he is not a scary one, but a super active 1. now my cat is in my room, he is in the living room. he didnt even bark at her, but she will just ran away once she saw him from far. i didnt let them to be side by side. i was carrying my cat while introducing them to each other. im not sure what type of puppy you have there. because what i know, dog breed here is a good one, there is a naughty one, there is also a scary one ehehe... but for cats all breed will still remain the same, territory behavior. cats will need time to get used with each other. not only to cats but also to dogs. they can be friendly as long as your puppy is not a scary one. since cat won't bite a dog. all you need to worry if you dog will attack your cat one day. cats will recover from stress, u need to give time. again, what you need to worry is, will your dog attack the cat. because cat won't attack and kill dog. but i really wish they can be fren. |

hi El,
i bought my cat a new cat litter called Feline Fresh last week. it has a type of smell (donno what smell is that) and my cat doesnt even want to go inside the litter box. she will slowly.... and carefully.... step inside and pee, and once she is done, she is quickly jump onto the side of the litter box and use one 'hand' to cover off the pee. does this mean that she doesnt like this brand of cat litter? or maybe she is just not used to it? |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Mar 27 2009, 05:36 PM) normal if u change to a new type of litter. remember cats are very fussy. if they love one thing, the will love it forever. but if it is come to toys, they will love till destroying them LOL. hahaha....this is cute, El...she is just like my rich fren, she doesnt want to do housework cuz she scared that her hands will become kasar after doing im not sure what type of litter you using before, and feline fresh is what type? are you changing from clay sand to pine wood type anyway? if yes, then that is the reason why. it takes time for them to love it. when you search for litter tips, the article will mention that, some cat do not like his/her litter type, some takes time to get used with new stuff. one hand to cover off the pee? as far as im concern, cat do use one hand only to cover pee.. can't imagine if they use both hand, that will be like a rabbit digging hole ehehehe. you are still consider lucky pumpkinn... one of my cat, name mia. not sure you know her or not. she is the one in my avatar. she have this one behavior which can be good, can be bad too. bad = after poo and pee, she never cover it up. just leave it like that. good = she keep her hand clean, she told me, her nails will be dirty digging the sand and pee/poo. she wants to keep her claws beautiful at all time other female cats say = damn! she is so paris hilton. other male cats say = she is a weird girls... geesshh! yea...i changed from sand type to pine wood type. no!!! HAHAHAHA....u made me laugh till my stomach pain |
