hey my kitten she is almost 6 month and she is eating and drinking and playful,but the problem that she is not skinny but she is small compair to 6 month cat,he is still looks like 3 month kittey and the attitude also,but she is toilet trained already,
all i wanted 2 ask?
is she having grown up problem?
but she don't looks sick?
what shall i do?an advice before i decide 2 take her 2 doctor

baru je pegi 2 kali, tu pun xsengaja terjumpa sebab suppose cari pasir kucing kat carefour but mcm xde yg berkenan. so melencong kat Queens Park and jumpa. hehe.

b4 this my hitam eat whiskas, then about a month ago his fur drops out and kena serangan fleas (i posted about it on last thread.) so currently using IAMs and RC Skin & Fur. dah boleh nampak bulu tumbuh balik. but still tompok² le. nxt few weeks ok kot. i notice eversince using current food, dah jadi gemuk pulak

vet, my aunty from Melaka works with gov vet. so if anything i just ran to her. lol.

yala...hitam nampak gemuk...I also got cat name Hitam... but die kurus laa...umur lebih kurg 1 thn lebih...

sad news, 3 kitten died today
foster mother(kucing betina rumah jiran) yg my friend gune tu tiba2 x nak menyusu the little kittens dah ptg semalam,so all nite long my friend had to bottle feed them using milkadog fomula. this morning pun dia cuba to see if the mother cat leh nurse xpi still the same...no susu but the nipples are sooo big
by late evening 3 kittens died betulalah apa org tua tua kata, kucing persian nie harap jer lawa tapi byk masalah ...lagi baik kucing kmpg kita nie ah...
setakat nie the remaining 5 ekor is looking good...i dnt think they mind suckling from the bottle but all im affraid is that the nutrisi...yalah semua tau yg mothers milk is the best milk...semahal milkadog tapi still not tat good compare to mummy's milk
entahlah Elf...wat masa nie berdoalah lebih...hopefully faith will be on my side expecially nie ialah first litter dlm family.

having kitten is not a easy job.

that puting bengkak, kalo tak kempis2 boleh jadi infection payu dara. so better watch out. that milk inside the mother mesti keluar habis, now it sound like blocking nipples. when it blocks, many things can appear especially infection.

my Abang, Adik, and Kakak are all bottle milk because people throw them infront shop in tissue box when they are less than 10 days. they grew up with factory milk yet still healthy. anyway they are kucing kampung, which means healthy. kucing mix mix ni payah, most of the mix mix kurang daya tahan badan. so need more extra care.

you need to check everything on the kitten, tengok jari jari, tengok bentuk badan, kena buka mulut tengok dalam mulut. long time ago, a friend of mine punya DLH give birth to 5 kitten, 3 of them mati, ingat kan mati sebab tak sihat. rupa rupa nya kecacatan... buka mulut and see tiada lelangit, no wonder susu tak masuk perut, all the susu keluar balik via nose. kesian.

most cats yang di mix kan dgn Persian flat face, kena hati hati. potential to produce kucing cacat. i saw some of them hidung senget, gigi ada panjang ada pendek, gigi terabur, sumbing, bibir tak rata etc.

hopefully you manage to handle the kittens and the mother.

no2: this might be the reason why. =p ... my friends told me that it is time for my cat to find his mate. but is it true that if we spot black color under the cat's mouth means that they r horny ?

ELF!!! My 13months old Momoy is pyometra positive.. She was given her 1st contraceptive jab in early May. In the mid of July, she showed some sickness symptoms such as dhearroea (am i spelling this correctly?), vomit and lost appetite. I sent her to our vet. This vet said she probably ate something poisonous. She was given some antibotic and anti-dhearroea.

Her condition wasnt better after a week. So i sent her to the same vet again. The vet gave suspected she was having enterhitis, since there was some brownish discharge from her private part. Thevet told me the dscharge was coming form her anal. She was given jabs for her liver and antibiotics. I asked the vet if her condition was related to that contraceptive jab he gave her, but he denied..

Last week, i went to a new vet (a very young vet) and asked her opinion. After some diagnostic and palpate, the vet told me that my Momoy is pyometra positive She's going for her pyometra spay on 9 Nov. Please pray for her....

Iams should be ok, although i heard most feedback is fur drops.. but all you need to do is frequent grooming. we cannot blame food also, if your cat eat the most expensive food but now grooming will also make the fur drop.

I never hear about black color thing under cats mouth. but i know if it is below the chin its something like blackhead that we have on our face. most female cat will have this.

sign of horny the obvious one is, not eating, not grooming, weight drop, look terrible, look lazy, making loud sound.

sign of a male that is horny is, you check the tail.. one part of it look like oily.. eheh that is the meaning they are horny. be ready, they will spray your house with the male smell! yuck!

eheheh don't worry, all cats do not grow into the same size. just like us. short, tall, skinny, fat, average

if she is healthy then everything is fine.

even they are siblings, the will be in different size.. example like my 3 siblings, the male is big and long in size, while female A is fat and short, and female B is long but slim.

first of all, im so sorry to hear about Momoy. I hope she will recover from pyometra soon.

I know pyometra sound hurt, because its like bacteria infection internally via the vaginal. and urine are all with bacteria.

my vet said most female cat that did not spay will have potential to get pyometra disease.

spay momoy for her own good. so she don't suffer in pain anymore.

What is Pyometra?

In its simplest terms, pyometra is an infection in the uterus. Most cases of pyometra are much more difficult to manage than a routine infection.

Infection in the lining of the uterus is established as a result of hormonal changes. Following estrus (heat), progesterone levels remain elevated for 8-10 weeks and thicken the lining of the uterus in preparation for pregnancy. If pregnancy does not occur for several estrus cycles, the lining continues to increase in thickness until cysts form within it. The thickened, cystic lining secretes fluids that create an ideal environment in which bacteria can grow. Additionally, high progesterone levels inhibit the ability of the muscles in the wall of the uterus to contract.

The use of progesterone-based drugs can do this. Estrogen will increase the effects of progesterone on the uterus. Drugs containing both hormones are used to treat certain conditions of the reproductive system. Spaying your female cat will prevent this disease.

How do bacteria get into the uterus?

The cervix is the gateway to the uterus. It remains tightly closed except during estrus. When it is open, bacteria that are normally found in the vagina can enter the uterus rather easily. If the uterus is normal, the environment is adverse to bacterial survival; when the uterine wall is thickened and cystic, perfect conditions exist for bacterial growth. When these abnormal conditions exist, the muscles of the uterus cannot contract properly. This means that bacteria that enter the uterus cannot be expelled.

Pyometra may occur in young to middle-aged cats; it is most common in older cats. After many years of estrus cycles without pregnancy, the uterine wall undergoes the changes that promote this disease.

The typical time for pyometra to occur is about 1-2 months following estrus.
