QUOTE(abang brother @ Dec 18 2008, 05:27 PM) QUOTE(annetize @ Dec 18 2008, 05:48 PM) eh? which vet in kch aa? we ( abg bro n i) previously owez go to city vet.. (at tabuan) the doctors are very kind and helpful.. but, our cats that we sent there died.. ahaha i guess its bcoz of their sickness la.. not the place.. but dunno osso now we prefer the vet infront of animal kingdom, bcoz the doctor is very nice, n she will initially give the meds to the cats herself.. n our cats that we sent there is STILL ALIVE AND WELL! the price is abit more expensive than city vet but in my opinion, its worth it.. plus, if u want to neuter/spay ur cat its cheaper there (n much cheaper if u haf many cats to neuter at the same time) this is in my opinion only.. So, is Dr. Audrey good ? Bcos there're peoples saying i have done a mistake n she sounds incompetent by saying it's safe to spray the flea med on 3 weeks old kitten ? Hi,
My kittens is now 4 weeks old ++. Every time they go to litter box, they will try to eat the cat litter ( i'm using Frisian non-clumping clay litter ). How to train them to use the cat litter but not eating it ? I'm worried bcos i have to left them at home until i go back home, that's mean i cannot monitor them. Also, they only pee ... n never see them poo ... is that normal at this age ? At what age they start to poo ? Thanks ! Really need advise ... |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Dec 23 2008, 01:44 PM) They start to poo when they start to eat dry food. thanks for the advice ...eating litter is normal. kitten do not know what is litter. and it is normal for a cat to eat everything they saw. even adult cat has the potential eating what ever things in our house such as pin, screw, rubber, so u need to be careful. kitten eating clay litter is not a good sign. but in your case, u r using non-clumping, that is OK. but advice, better use newspaper.... first. |

Pls help ! My mommy cat n two 6 weeks old kittens having loose stool, I'm feeding them RC Babycat. The mommy cat always have loose stool even though i change food slowly, n sometimes ok sometimes not, n she have bloated stomach. But my 2 kittens suddenly have loose stool only after few weeks on RC Babycat (this is the 1st solid food for my kittens). All of them already dewormed. One of them sometimes poo n pee beside the litter box.
May i know will the supplement for supporting their digestive system help ? If yes, can recommend a good supplement which is suitable for both the mommy cat n 6 weeks old kittens ? Thanks ! This post has been edited by stormaker: Jan 7 2009, 01:50 PM |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Jan 7 2009, 03:33 PM) what i know some cats will get loose/soft/watery stool when eating RC babycat. but i never heard about they continously producing this kind of stool.. Thanks for the advise. I haven't try RC kitten or other kitten food. Will my 6 weeks old kittens having problem on chewing the kitten food which is larger than the RC Babycat kibbles ? N since RC kitten is for 4 months old n above kittens, is it OK to give them RC kitten at this time ?since they are already deworm, i dont see any worms problems here. have u try feeding RC kitten? or other Kitten food maybe Science plan, iams? you buy the small pack, mix it with rc babycat slowly, until its 100% new kitten food. and see what happen. if it is still not working, try to feed them boil half cook chicken with empty plain water. and let them eat the meat+soup as drinking water. if both still fail, let me know. p/s at the moment don't feed any supplement. For the boil half cook chicken, i can't do that everyday, i only can prepare for them on every weekend, so i will put aside this option 1st. |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Jan 7 2009, 04:26 PM) i know RC babycat is the smallest size ever... if that's the case ... i think i'll try science plan kitten chicken 1st ... but, since that they already having soft/loose stool, n my RC Babycat finish already, is it ok i just give them science plan without switching slowly ?but even science plan/iams kitten kibble size is the same size with rc kitten. but iams kitten and science plan kitten is not as hard adult food. they may look bigger than rc babycat, but the texture is softer. so, kitten will easily crunch on it. beside your cat is 6 weeks already aight. i ever saw people feeding 1 month old kitten with adult cat food. image how big is that. when i saw them doing their eating business, they are like chewing/crunch the kibble first - it drop to the flow - then they eat the small small part that has been crunch. smart eh! so u go for 1st option, try iams/science plan.. maybe skip the rc kitten first since it is under the same company. i know there's a small small packs of iams kitten (purple color), but im not sure what is the smallest pack for Science plan kitten. |

I'm so damn heartbreak, piss n frustrated now, bcos the mommy cat who i tried to give the best i could "hiss" at me n attacked me. I think she on heat today n manage to escape to our neighbour house, my neighbour male cat already started "action" but i managed to stop them before they started it. I brought home the mommy cat but until car porch, she attacked me, scratched my hand to bleed ... after that, she don't allow anybody to near her, n she hiss on everyone n attack anyone. So, i brought her kitten to her but she even attack her own kitten but luckily i manage to get the kitten away from her before she could hurt her.
So, i so helpless now, n i have to say sorry to her, if she still try to attack me n get her self pregnant again, i'll send her back to where she's belong, i'll only take good care of her kittens, n sorry for the kittens, they will lose their mom. |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Jan 9 2009, 09:05 PM) eheheh that is what animal do. oh ... i forgot i have a pet carrier .... stupid me ... but now i cant do anything bcos she's so aggressive now n will attack anybody. i haven't spay her bcos she's still nursing, the kittens already 7 weeks old today n still always looks for milk from teir mom, when can i spay her ? but i don't know how is her health condition, but i think she's really in bad shape n with bloated stomach, don't know it's safe to spay her on this condition or not.have u ever heard, old people say, if u see cats mating, don't ever go near them? your female cat is so stress like on top of the world. when a female cat on heat and stress, their kitten become their enemy. and they start to ignore them. why aren't you spay your female cat? next time if you want to approach a STRESS cat, always remember to hold their upper neck and bring a carrier along with you. i'm pretty sure that female cat of yours being with you not for a long time right? she seem have not create any bond with you yet. her kittens might have the same potential of becoming like her = aggressive. so she is mating with the neighbor cat already? if not yet, u better cage her for awhile. and spay her before more and more kitten coming soon. if u send her away to where she belong is not a good solution if u have not spay her. more and more unwanted kitten will die, and more and more stray/feral cats in the community. Yeah... if u can remember ... i adopted her not long ago from the street ... oh no .... the male cat already get on top of her but have start yet, i manage to chase him away on time. she's very very noisy when being "caged" in my room ... that's why i let her out once in a while for short period. |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ Jan 9 2009, 10:01 PM) if you sayang your female cat, bring her to the vet. or call your vet first, tell them she is very horny (on heat). Vet will recon you some solution. Immediate spay (maybe) but will cost alil bit extra money to spay on heat female. really appreciate ur advise. I think i will just keep her n my stress gone after ur advise. Some vet won't spay your cat, but they will inject/pill with hormone or pregnancy control pills. this medicine will control your cat from pregnant. when the ON HEAT stop, then u spay her. since it is still fresh and new mating, you can still avoid pregnancy. as long as it is not 3 weeks and above pregnancy, then it will involve abortion. so while it is still new, you have 2 solution from your vet. Spay immediately if your vet agree, or hormone/pregnancy control pills. i do wish you keep the mother with you p/s yes u can change the aggressive problem.. but do it now, when the kitten is still small... give more care and love... if you have more than 1 kitten, dont separate them. let them be together and learn to contact each other. if u have only 1, u need more time to train that kitten to be good. the only way is to spend more and more time with them when they are still in kitten age, potentially growing up as a good loving cat Actually they haven't start the "process" yet ... sorry for the previous typo, so i'm not worry abt the new pregnancy at this moment. Initially i don't want to spay her before chinese new year bcos the vet clinic will close during CNY, so i can't get the vet help in case of emergency. Now, i think i will talk to my vet 1st thing in the morning to find the best solution as per ur advise. Now, i have 3 kittens, n together with their mom, i "caged" all of them in my bedroom, n spend at least 1 hour playing with them. So far i don't notice any aggressiveness on them beside the usual kittens behaviour like biting n scratching , actually they like to climb/sleep on my lap, hope that's is the sign that they 're manja with me n bonding with me. |

Hi guys, it's me again n advise needed AGAIN ( at least to release my stress here ). I think i have lot's of "cat problems" n asked a lots here ... pls forgive me.
1) I'm thinking of spay the on heat mommy cat after CNY, but yesterday while i'm not at home, my mom open my room door n the mommy cat ran out n only came back home after few hours, now i'm worry she'll get pregnant again. Can i still wait until after CNY ? 2) I'm also planned to vaccinate my 3 kittens after CNY, but recently 1 of them have symtom of difficulty to breath, noise during breathing even during sleep. But still play n eat like normal. Is it ashtma n need immediate treatment ? 3) My friend rescued 2 abondoned kittens (from longkang) last few weeks, n i think they 're now 2 to 3 months old. Last night, one of them got blood in the urine after pee. Is it UTI ? They all 're on RC Babycat n occasionally canned food. Initially I budget to spay the mommy cat n vaccinate the kittens after CNY, but now ... don't know what should i do ... The financial support on the 2 rescued kittens by my friend is on me ... So, u guys think which one I should give top priority n pls comment if have other advises especially the way for self treatment or way to delay the treatment. Thanks ! A) Spay the mommy cat. ( Really can't afford more kitten ) B) Vaccinate the kittens. C) Treatment for the kitten with breathing difficulty. D) Treatment for the kitten with urine in blood. |

Thanks lots master elf ...
From ur advise, I think the top priority will be given to the one with blood in urine n the one with breathing difficulty. If this 2 treatments doesn't cost a lot then only spay n vaccinate after CNY, if not I have to bet on my luck n delay spaying n vaccine ... or be muka tembok n ask for installament payment from vet. The mommy cat still meowing but not as often as before, n not sure meowing for freedom or sex. For the breathing difficulty kitten, i didn't notice sneezing, coughing n vomiting, n i'm sure it's not purr bcos it's sound more like asthma like human. |

He's been having breathing problem around 2 days ago and this morning he can't control his urination so i took him to the vet but it was too late Sorry to hear that too, takumin, may he/she rest in peace. Yupe, i've brought him to the vet last night n got 2 shots of injection from vet n currently on antibiotic. I hope it's nothing serious. BTW, how to diagnose FIP or other diseases ? Is it through blood test ? |

Hi, is it Ok for kitten aged around 4 to 5 months to eat vegetables such as Midin, KangKong, cangkuk manis ...etc ... Bcos my friend's kittens like to eat (the leave part) those vege n they eat a lot n will fight over it. Is there any health concern or it's sign of something not right ?
The kittens currently on Acana dry food (free feeding with more than enough daily amount) n canned food once or twice a week. Thanks ! |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ May 20 2009, 06:07 PM) i'm not sure what they call that vege in english.. but you can check this website for dangerous plants in cats = http://www.cfa.org/articles/plants.html Yeah ... i don't know the english name either, that't make it hard to search for it. Thanks for the link ... will try to go through the list.that's include Onion, aloe vera.... u need to check on midin aswell... cos it is a rare vege... how come the vege u mention are all almost the same type ehehe.. what i know midin, kangkung, cangkuk manis are kinda cold type of vege.. like the old people always say, if they eat this vege, they will end up have pain around legs and bones since it is cold. they don;t really eat the vege.. they are more towards playing with it. you know cat's eat everything include plastic bag LOL. I don't know the vege are "cold" type oh ... what i know it's my friend's favorite, hope it's won't have "cold" effect on the kittens. But, the kittens really eat the vege, bcos twice already almost all the leaf are gone especially kangkung when we leave the vege without covering it. Now, whenever my friend cook, she will give them some vege. Hope there's no harm to them. |

QUOTE(Artemis II Kikuraides @ May 21 2009, 10:12 AM) Sorry, I beg to differ but some cats do have a taste for vegetables. yeah, they 're on proper cat food n now we just give them a few leaf each time, but they will look for more after they finish it as if they 're very hungry. Another thing i worry abt is don't know is there any pesticide on the vege or not. Remember the durian-eating cat years ago? It was all over the news and it was true. But a cat must not live on vegetables (kangkung? ha ha ha). Sometimes we can see cats eating grass outside home and it was quite ok. They are eating plants for the fibre, to make the bowels move. Just give them proper cat food and if they still want to eat a bit of veg, just let them. At least you can brag to ur frens u have a vegetarian cat. ha ha ha! Hehehehe ... yeah .. vegetarian cat can save u a lot of money on buying dry food .... |

QUOTE(elfreakz @ May 21 2009, 11:06 AM) then the vege they took is like treat only lah right... as long as they eat proper cat food for daily food then it is already. some of my friends prepare carrot and potato together with their half cook meat/chicken... u can get all this diet recipes by google. yeah ... after we found out they like to eat vege, we give them as a treat only, i'm just shocked that they like it so much until finish it all n didn't leave a bit for our lunch/dinner.if let say your cat turn into rabbit ehehe.. then i bet feed him whiskas/friskies = this 2 brand contain vegetable yet some chicken, rather than feeding them that vegetable plant Hahaha ... good idea, i'll change the dry food to whiskas/friskies if their ears started to grow long like rabbit n jump like rabbit.
