Hello there, I would like to ask the procedure to send the Gigabyte motherboard for an RMA.

1) Is there any RMA online form involve?

2) Should I pack it like HDD RMA? Wrapping with polysterine?

3) Should I bring the complete package (Eg: Cable, CD)? Box?

4) Should I bring the receipt?

5) From what I've read in another topic, there's a sticker behind the mobo that should refer to some of the distributor company? So, can I directly go there without sending it to shop I bought?

6) Did it take time? Will they perform a complete check in front of you or just pass it to the person incharge, get the receive stamp, go back and wait for the reply like Seagate RMA process? drool.gif

Thank you .. notworthy.gif

I still wondering if will they accept if only the LAN port have been fried (black spot) or they will accept it first, try to refix first, and sent it back if they couldn't make it? or they will reject it at the first place?

To make it easy, how do the procedure works?

1) What the shop will do?

a) Bring the receipt and the mobo .
b) Next, .......

2) What the distributor will do?

oh.. im so lucky to find this thread.
I also would like to know how to RMA Gigabyte Mobo as my Mobo already 1 year+,
My Mobo having problem 2nd times, the built in VGA output display nothing.
The 1st time I claim thru with the shop i bought, but the shop say they will charge me rm30 after 1year if wanna claim warranty.. so i would try to send to distributor myself, less hassle than goto lowyat with traffic jam + petrol + carpark + that RM30..

So, did they perform a check at the first place? or they just take it without test?

If claim thru shop i think most of them will check the problem 1st before taking out the Mobo from your cpu.
My 1st claim also same with you that LAN spoil, then I purchase the Lan card. but problem still exist, the Lan card sometime cant be detected. then no more display then no choice have to take to the shop..
claim thru shop usually have to wait for 3 week.

If your problem is only LAN port I suggest you just buy a LAN card, only RM20+ and doesnt have to wait for RMA.

Added on October 22, 2008, 6:49 pmwhen I claim thru the shop I don't have to bring anything include receipt or warranty card..(some shop need the receipt)
they verified the Mobo from their shop's sticker they stick on the Mobo..

Anyway I would like to know how to claim warranty thru distributor..Anyone can help?

i hv experience RMA for MSI at IMBI plaza, really no hassle.very fast and convenient. 5 stars.no receipt needed, no question asked, and FOC!

im currently working on RMA for my GA-M55SLI-S4...
in malaysia, there are some main distributors for gigabyte (motherboard)...

check >> http://www.giga-byte.com/WhereToBuy/Mother...mpanyTerritory=

at first, i emailed ScanArt Data System. and they said AMD motherboard is distributed by Inforce Sdn Bhd.. right now im working it...emailed to the person in-charge of RMA...

feel free to email them at : rma@inforce.com.my

just now a person named James replied and asked me:
1)where were you purchase this m/b?
2)m/b's serial number
3)your contact number

if your motherboard is Intel, yours is maybe ScanArt. if AMD, try Inforce.
