The problems was never Anelka/Drogba. The center forward's job is to put the ball behind the net when there are chances in the box. However, the wings (Malouda/Joe Cole/Kalou) and the backs (Bosingwa/Ashely Cole/Bridge) not sending the ball in. Okay, Bosigngaw can be excused, he did well, very well. Partly is because our opponents knows our playing style so much that they shut down the sides. Like yesterday for example, Malouda and Kalou is being held by Blackburn's defenders, making it difficult for them to cross or bring the ball into the box. Hence, most of our games will depend on Lampard/Deco a lot to either through pass or lop the ball in. We'll do pretty okay if Lamps or Deco performs. We'll be deadly once Ballack is back, then we can have deadly crosses/passes to all angles (if you get what I mean).

He is not the kind of player like Martins/Torres/Zaki/Drogba where they creates chances for themselfs. I would say Anelka is a smarter player where he uses his physic to attract defenders to him so that the flair can go on 1 on 1 to bring the ball into the box. Drogba is not as good as Anelka in beating offsides and sometimes, he tend to over used his physics and refree might easily give away fouls against Chelsea. But heck, I still love Drogba smile.gif

yeah that sounds about right. teams are on to us now. they'll try to curb our wingplay. which is why deco desperately needs to regain his form.
he's been looking very2 much off the pace in the last two games. countless passes intercepted during the blackburn game.
luckily lamps was his usual self. now if we can just start using sinclair and di santo once in awhile..
guess they'll get a chance against burnley eh hmm.gif

DukeRed and DukeBlue. Brothers or trollers? imo Anelka did what he can do best. At this critical time when we only have one fit strikers available and he showed us what he got. I was kind of surprised when Di Santo and Sinclair didn't have a chance to play. =/

I'm guessing LPS is keeping them for the FA cup and League cup matches... Can't wait to see our youngsters in action again.. especially Di Santo... icon_rolleyes.gif

He definitely an interesting player. Me only saw a glimpse of him in Liverpool match and he indeed got what it need to be a great striker. With some more experience, he will be ready for starting line-up. nod.gif

Thumbsup, cant agree with u more about this. But in BPL, no matter how beautiful ur football is, it still comes to the table, winners get 3, losers get 0, easy math.

We cant expect drastic changes of how Anelka plays, but 1 thing for sure, he better get the job done always, at least until our Drogba is up for the taking, but all in all...it depends on how Drogba is progressing later on...otherwise, I dont mind to win by 'ugly' goals than trying to make everything look beautiful in the hard way.

p/s : as quoted by others, I myself dont think it deserved that name, u know it is faster to go with Smart Tag than paying manually? (toll) .... then I call this Smart-Tap.. wink.gif ...if this fugly thing is easy to do, why would all strikers worked so hard to get goals specially when theyre trailing behind? it is .. POSITIONING.

just my personal opinion, dont cranium bash me thx!
