Not downplaying any criticism, good or sucks, i'm just accepting them as it is, as long as there's something i like from any series.

Macross 7? Mang I love Macross 7 more than Frontier.

Every Macross has their concept

Macross - about singer diva and transformable robot jet fighter pilot
Macross 2 (i dunno whther u guys wanted to acknowledge this OVA) - about a reporter, a pilot and an alien hynotized emulator singer
Macross plus - lagi gempak, about 3 sum love triangle and an A.I diva (AI? looks like MGS Patriot system copied from this)
Macross 7 - a singer and his band who fight the enemy by piloting a VF themself while playing the instrument and singing
Macross F - same as SDF Macross, but the hero get 2 singers as his harem, heck he also a cross dresser
Macross D - Idols~yaaay, a VF pilot who wish he is a ballet dancer and bunch of lengzai gay pilots piss off their people only has life span up to 30 years

So to make it short, Macross may not about VF alone. Its about singing combined with transformable jet themed. Just watch and enjoy la.

Hardcore fans never discriminate each Macross series. They accepted each Macross series coz its relation between song and VF. Is like Sound of Music married with Top Gun, but presented in diferrent way.

Most of it are dogfight between Messer n white knight. Battroid mode is for mc dancing la, but gerwalk mode still hav le during dogfight evasion n during mc still noob 1st time use Valkyrie.

Although it's sad, I hope that Bandai don't do what they did to Gundam Iron Blood Orphan (eps 23 inm)...

This is quite relevant to mainstream media/trend nowadays. I only watched Frontier before this so Delta is not that different. They could tone down on the wind mumbo jumbo though.

Axia is pretty nice, it's on top of my list alongside ichido dake & ikenai. The Rune Pika song should just be banned.

For me, all macross are good. Except macross 7, because haven't watched it yet. But the movie/ova is good.

I don't mind each is different, i wouldn't want to watched the 'same' thing over and over again.
