Seems like hayate can go god pilot mode when he's in sync with freyja. Best dogfight so far.

For me, all macross are good. Except macross 7, because haven't watched it yet. But the movie/ova is good.

I don't mind each is different, i wouldn't want to watched the 'same' thing over and over again.

Somehow i prefer delta songs, singing during aerial battles kinda have emotional effect on me (haha). Especially when hayate shot down that annoying guy and also when messer shot down.

The only similar song + battle in Frontier is Lion during the final battle. Alto + that other guy in red valkyrie tag team.

For me, its a bit better than Frontier, don't know why. Maybe because I'm more interested in human conflict than aliens.

Try watching the 1st episode yourself, then decide.

Macross 2 is not Macross DYRL.  M2 Its a non canon macross ova that were written without the involvement of the most people from first Macross team production. Hence deswai Macross fans rejected this anime and considered as Non Canon. Its a Dragon Ball GT of Macross universe.

So Hayate wants to fill in Messer roles.... I don't think he will suddenly power - up. My guess is that he and Mirage gonna practice flying in synch to complement each other.
