Before I went to see EVA 2.0, I heard many many rumors about otakus rage over Mari.Infact, most of it are negative thoughts and impression which threw by the otakus about Mari be it in Sankaku, Kotaku,2ch,4ch or any other anime forum.But most that I heard is about are such as below

-Mari wasnt supposed to be in the movie and they should retain all the original cast from the series.
-Mari is the reason for Asuka to pilot unit 04 and got involved into the accident.Well screw Toji if Anno want him to get happy ending with his lil sister.
-Mari is more kewl, GAR and already supress any eva pilot in the series.She's already activated the limitation of eva unit 2 in her first debut unlike all other eva pilot which need to undergo many experiments in order to sync with their eva.Its like Goku who have to go through a lot of trainings,painful and sadness to transform into super saiya but WTF? his son just transform like that very easily without going through all that?
-She is megane and yandere.WTF is Anno think just to include this kind of character in a very super serious and complex anime?This is Neon Genesis Eva!!!!Not Tokimeki Memorial!!!

For me there;s nothing wrong with Mari except that she's there just to make the differrences between the anime and the movie.If not, it would be bored with just straightly copy paste 100% from the story.And of course, I'LL KILL ANNO IF SHINJI END UP WITH HER IN THE ENDING!!!!

Most important part is how anno gonna the trilogy, a good ending or a bad ending?..

I think the above 2 quotes say for themselves. Geez, which f**king part of Mari is yandere. Obviously someone needs to get their definitions right.

Also, Asuka isn't *less* tsundere, I'd say she's *more* like a tsundere now. Original Asuka was pretty much tsun-tsun-tsun to everyone. At least movie Asuka had dere moments.

Well Anno want to follow Kyo Ani formula where silentless character like Nagato suddenly shows some emotion in the movie is priceless.Everybody itching to see Rei suddenly show some moe expression like in last few episode in the series where Shinji dreamt about their normal daily life.

And oh, Shinji is more like Simon wannabe and I can see the ending where Shinji shout "My AT Field will reached through the heaven!!!" with all the eva girl hugged him tightly in the cocpit and some images of Kaji,Misato,Gendo and Nagisa reflected on his back ,while giving the final blow to the last angel.

Suddenly found out that shinji dream sequence is the real world and everything about ADAM and lilith are just shinji's imagination. If that's the real ending, anno is biggest troll ever?..

Well Anno did say this Rebuild project is to make Evangelion more accessible to normal anime fans. So that's probably why Shinji has more of a backbone this time round.

Admitedly, though, I miss the mindf**k of the original series.

Dude, if that happen then Anno is similarly more like Prof A Razak Mohaideen when he made the horror movies which all end up is just a dream.

yeah, rei died right after having a bit of emotion, shinji going emo coz the rei he knew is dead and replaced with another clone, asuka's dealing with her pride and the fact hes growing attached to everybody. and got eaten by the eva series.

btw, i choose no-emotion cold as ice rei. a rei thats goes, "ikari-kun no issho, atashi poka poka suru" made me o_0

As Shinji once said It's a non canon novel. If that gets animated, then other, non canon story should also be animated as well, such as Kōtetsu no Gārufurendo 2nd

kaworu is an angel, he doesn't even need power supply to control the eva.

the image of rei smiling and saying "himitsu, i'll tell you when i got better" always made HNGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, AaAaaaAaaaaaAAAA~~~!!!!
