Blonely, are u going for games? To be honest, 73GT is not on par with X1650XT lo. Slightly loose a bit. Maybe around 10-15%.

7300GT = 8/5 shader
X1650XT  = 8/8 shader

But do take note, kabu's 73GT is heavily clocked version. brows.gif Should be alright..
*
7300GT is stronger than 6600GT.Go for 7300GT if want.edmin has done a good job for sharign valuable info here.

an AGP card so rare these days and not worth spending huge amount on it

kimojideska,you may pick either one.MSI 865PE Neo2 is quite a stable mobo but with AGP. If you move to DDr2 and PCI-E,which cards are you going to buy?Another concern here.

blonely,ATI drivers are sucks.No omit on that. My next card will not be ATI properly. 7900GS should be a 256bits memory interface,if 128bits only i think isn't worth to get it.256bits can take into consideration. I have forgotten which seller already,any pictures uploaded in his thread for 7900GS?

this is his thread: http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/942444
and feel fishy as just have 9 posts up till now..

Just do some survey on the available AGP card in LYP
Only these around my budget:
Sapphire
HD3650 DDR2 512mb 128bit rm269
HD3650 DDR3 512mb 128bit rm300
HD2600xt DDR3 512mb 128bit rm290
1950GT DDR3 256mb 256bit rm219
HIS
HD3650 DDR2 512mb 128bit rm335

in a big headache now which to choose and do i hv other option ><
*
Good list here.Won't recommend you to get HD3650 512Mb with DDR3,son't get DDR2 versions. X1950GT now so cheap already?HD3650 DDR2 has 2 prices? RM269 and RM335?

its different brand.. Sapphire and HIS...
i saw it at the Viewnet pricelist i downloaded from hardwarezone.
not sure about that...may be they price it wrongly? hmm.gif
Even see it at pricelist but not sure they still have the stock.. so still in survey.. xD

I see,one from forum and another one from retail.About 50-60 bucks different.

79GS should be 256bit. Since the seller stated that it is Galaxy version, here is the details of the card.

http://product.pcpop.com/000042867/Index.html (Srry it is Chinese one) tongue.gif

All proven it is 256bit. Maybe it is the water set? brows.gif Anyways, i ever kena once. My 1st Radeon 9800XT were fake type. only have 128bit, and core & mem speed are 1/2 of the original one. shocking.gif
*
If lets say 7900GS is 256bits(i believe also is 256bits,can't get info from internet about 128bits),why the seller saying is 128bits.Damn confusing. rclxub.gif There was a brand for 9800XT which is 128bits one,forget which brand already.Chapalang one but there were a lot of people getting that GC too!

3850 for the kill

256bit smile.gif

anyways, my card X800 256 ddr3 and 256 bit also can play crysis, medium la  1280x1024

dun expect much though

but concern is bottleneck =.=
even my GPU already bottleneck, those 3850 or 3650 sure worse

btw, there is a Biostar mobo which supports S478, DDR2 n PCIE
*
Bottleneck is another story,old GPU can't support new instructions from game.That's the main problem.3850 sure pawns 3650.

even google cant found 128bit 79GS. xD
hmm.gif but i din see 79GS at any pricelist...so dunno how to get  and wonder the price...  rolleyes.gif

You may get the HD3650 DDR3 for budget wise,7900GS is a steal also cause is only RM320 from the guy.

of cause 73gt cant really compete with your x1650xt. if ddr2 then maybe the performance difference will be closer. just my RM0.02

dont worry about that..... good luck for your gc hunting wink.gif

not really hooked on DMC4 la... just wanna see the effect stuffs. not really have time for that. btw... i will hand the card to you on my way back after work today(friday) if i have my card in hand(still in HIS house). tongue.gif

9550 can flash to 9700?? i thought can flash to 9600xt/pro. have you tried yours?? i got the same card here. hehe....
*
Wao,your 7300GT is sold in a few days only.Who is the lucky buyer?What was the price sold off?9500pro which is 256bits version can flash to 9700 version,not 9600XT flash to 9700.9600pro/XT can never do that.

@Jcsy
Yea. Imagine the read write speed on 1:1 ratio when both ram and cpu been OC to 500mhz. brows.gif LG775 OC is not just the matter of pumping FSB, u can OC both ram and CPU to archive the ultimate result.

@ray,
thanx for visiting my photoblog, hehe. yeah, i need all the ram and processing power i can get, i can feel the huge difference in responsiveness while doing my photo tasks. no regrets.

@fylon,
i tested encoding on my rig. all i can say is wtfomgbbqsauce. tmpgenc uses multithreading, therefore all my cores are utilised. previously on P4, each anime episode will take around 30mins to encode to mpg. now with all enhancements added while encoding, each anime only takes less than 5 mins! most likely the 8mb cache rocks!

currently running my rig 3.0GHz @ FSB1333, when idling is 2.0Ghz. the C1E and EIST still works like a charm! wonderful.
*
Really nice photoblog,all aer very quality pictures.5min on Xeon 3GHz and 30min on P4 3.0GHz? laugh.gif

Mine is Northwood, only 512k cache. Anyway, I got the 3850 for 460bucks ouch! Very long card, almost touching my hdd blink.gif
Yes, there is bottleneck and it depends on the type of game. Usually FPS games like COD4 rely on powderful gc, while RTS like CoH rely on powderful proc. I guess its the proc cache that's holding me back. Finally my older games can use AA whistling.gif
*
I see,then i move your list to Northwood one.Seems you are enjoying your HD3850 so much.Nice GC over there.But if your proc can o/c,the bottleneck is lesser.

QUOTE(fylon @ Mar 21 2009, 04:54 PM)

Lol.. 30mins vs 5mins converting time? OMGWTFBBQ! That is awesome fast. laugh.gif But dont tempt me with ur X3 la.. Haha! I think my pushing mine to 3Ghz, the encoding not that bad also.

Btw, u on CIE and EIST during OC?
*
I heard EIST off is resulting better in o/c.

yes, EIST + C1E on! load 3ghz idle/less activities on 2Ghz. Rock stable.  icon_rolleyes.gif Not hardcore OC, so it works fine since I only upped the FSB and did not touch the default multiplier. your dual core can do encoding fast also, but u lack of another 2 cores to assist in multithreading processing. have u seen benchmarks that quaddies are around 80-90% faster compared to dual during encoding?
