Usually mobo bios only allow upgrade but not downgrade. But flash with exact same version i have never try before. Afraid cannot give u a exact answer. But anyways, what had u done before all these happened?

Usually we are using the bios flashing utilities / tools to do upgrade right? If I'm not mistaken the utilities / tools are not allow bios downgrading. That where my assumption come from.

But flash back with the same version, that i ain't sure about it as never try before. Usually only upgrade and never downgrade before.

AFAIK, the tools will perform certain type of check sum of the bios on the mobo and the one that ur going to flash with. If the bios revision of the one that ur going to flash into the mobo is lower then the one on mobo CMOS, usually user will unable to flash it.

And also, not all new bios are working fine. There are some issues where new bios are causing problems and make user downgrade back to older revision.

Problem still unable to resolved? Hm.. Quite weird. Have u try to swap to the VGA card? Or turn to onboard display if ur mobo has one. Try it and see how was the condition.

My vote goes to dual channel.

Well.. Since dual channel is boosting the performance for sure go for dual channel right? Haha! For 2x or 4x ram i think there will be not much different. Unless ur doing OC. Tested 4x ram dimm on my previous rigs, OC performance is limited thou.

New specs, P4 2.8Ghz FSB533 (pity not HT proc|), P4P800-X, 1.5GB of ram (3*512mb, mixture of dual channelll & single channelll ) GF MX4000!

But that just for monitoring purpose.. Waiting for my new lappy arrived! Wander whats the spec yet.

Yea. Still consider as single channel. But nvm.. Since this system is not for gaming.. Just need more juice for apps. Lol.. But then still running fine. Feel the real power of single core processor. Just fine tune the system. Haha!

It is P35-DS3R! Lol.. This mobo cames with on board RAID. Anyways, it still on Nicolasteoh hand and waiting for its return.

The best codec for encoding HD will be coreAVC thou. Highly recommended! But ofcause it ain't free.. But it always a way to get it for F*EE.
