30caps means there are 30 capacitors below the proc there. These versions are gem in overclocking. brows.gif  brows.gif Northwood is 512k L2 cache.
It's a good deal, you might proceed if feel ok.Just buy the board and you can use already.
*
yeah, since it has 2 ide, i can straight plug in my current 2 hdds, and able to switch to sata anytime. however, it's also possible to find a dual core amd am2 proc and mobo for around that price. my haert still kinda half half on the biostar + 3.0 combo or the amd combo. sad.gif

the 2 cards look exactly identical if not for the fans laugh.gif
is there a possibility of 7300GT a stepped down version of 7600GT's core?

coz normally i see the same identical cards have the same core, but different model. like the one i used to have 6200 but using a 6600GT fan and board, and can softmod to 6600GT too brows.gif

Haha,i don't know the HD2400pro is coming with 64bits of memory interface only.Cacat.
*
yeah, initially i didn't know that too. got one card for my bro, 256mb ddr3 but 64bits. first i couldnt believe it coz seldom got ddr3 cards with 64bit memory, but was confirmed after i check using gpu-z. i would 7300gt ddr3 can also beat this thing. now it's lying in my room, and i'm wondering what to do with it now. the card is still quite new..about a year old only.

Only RM440 for OEM ?The price is dirt cheap.
Then recommend you to get Q8200 or Q6600. brows.gif
*
even quaddies oem like q6600 can get around that price. if rm500 can get xeon 3320 also, equavalent to q9300 brows.gif
q6600 would be a good buy also, although kinda old already, it's a good oc-er, better than q8200 IMHO biggrin.gif

btw, thanks to those who dropped by at my thread to offer your help. appreciate it notworthy.gif notworthy.gif

q8200 is not considered old, quite new actually. in fact i think it's newer than e8400. but q8200 is made from the e7xxx series or the e5xxx series, forgot already, so it has lesser cache than e8400, thus making it slower than e8400 in some applications that require more use of the cache.

the p4 architecture was so good that it was 'ported' to s775, even sandwiched into a dual core (pentium D) before the core 2 era.
*
yeah, pentium d had the same heat issues that prescott cores have too sweat.gif

btw, i just got a old dell p4 cpu from my friend. tested it, seems to boot up but no display. tried with my lcd and crt, both came up with no signals. most probably IGP on the mobo kong? it doesnt even have a AGP slot laugh.gif

cant see any foxconn label on it..maybe due to the tight dell casing and many wires around laugh.gif
it's a really weird mobo design btw, no agp slot sweat.gif
i dont have a pci graphic card, so now cant test the system, cant check the specs. but everything else seems to be fine though, can boot.
my friend asked me to sell it for him. any takers? brows.gif

now i have another dell cpu with me, dont know how to test it as it doesnt have any agp slot..

i think with your budget you can get yourself a decent amd x2 processor, which performs much better than a celeron dual core.

Now, what I need to improve is my PC133 SDRAM modules since one of the DIMM modules is not running at the correct configuration (Apacer PC142??). Maybe, I will try to look for the rare 1GB PC133 SDRAM (not server-type) if possible.
*
i also have that problem, my apacer pc133 running at weird speeds as you mentioned. it cant run together with my kingston pc133, the pc will boot but keep restarting at the windows boot screen. what i did was to downclock it to pc100 only, but then it's kinda wasted to downclock it

QUOTE(voscar @ Apr 14 2009, 05:43 PM)
How? Please advice on the proc, mobo, and RAM combination. my budget range is rm300-400. I don't care if it's a AMD, as long it's a 2 core will do.....
*
what i got is this.

ASUS M2N68-AM (178)
ATHLON X2 5000+/5200+ (~200)
1GB RAM (40)

that would total up to RM418. slightly overbudget wink.gif

for intel setup it's harder to fit that budget if you go for slightly higher step procs like pentium dual cores. can go for this setup

ASUS P5KPL-AM (178)
Pentium Dual Core E5200 (239)
1GB RAM (40)

total : RM 457.

maybe you could try to check if lower spec models are still available, like intel e2xxx series or athlon x2 4xxx series. can lower down your cost.
you can try asking at the recommendation thread at hardware q&a. maybe they can give better recommendations than me biggrin.gif
