Hi,

I'm in UK now and planning to get one DSi from UK. Is there any thing that I need to know before getting one over here? Can the game that I buy in shops in Malaysia play with a DSi bought in UK?

With the pound down and with -~10 VAT refund, i think it might be cheaper getting one here.

Any advice from the experts here please?

Cheers.

All DS games are region free, DSi exclusive game (so far none has been released/ announced) might have region restrictions in it. for your references it's much easier to get US games here than EU games.

As for DSiware you can only download contents from the European DSi Shop. But it shouldn't be much of a problem unless they doesn't accept your credit card (We have the infamous Brazil Hack for US DSi).

Hi,

Thanks for answering my question, but I don't really understand what you mean.

1. EU and US games are different? Can I play a US game in a EU DSi?
2. What is DSiware? Can't I go to the any official DSi Shop to buy any game? So EU DSi can only go back to EU DSi shop and US DSi can only go back to US DSi shop?

Sorry but I'm really new to this. Just want to get a handle to pass my time. Was thinking to get PSP or DSi and most of friends told me to go for DSi.

Thanks.

No difference in US and EU games except maybe the language a little bit, but no difference really. DS games are not region locked, so you can play games from anywhere. He meant DSi only game might be region locked, but no worries on that yet as there hasn't been any DSi exclusive games yet. There are games with DSi features, but not region locked.

DSiware is games or application you can download directly to your DSi from the DSi shop. You purchase them using points which you can buy. This you can only download from the shop through your DSi, and anything you download is locked... it's region locked and it's locked to your DSi which means you can't move it, you can't transfer it to another DSi etc.

So this means, DSiware is region locked. Games are not.

NINTENDO DOWNLOAD: DISCOVER NEW LOSTWINDS, NUMEROUS DOMO GAMES AND A TRUE ARCADE CLASSIC

Oct. 19, 2009

Eight is great for gamers this week as Nintendo adds eight new titles to its ever-growing library of downloadable games. First on the list is LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias, a follow-up to one of the most popular releases on the WiiWare™ service. Next, Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem makes survival of the fittest the law of the land. Meanwhile, Nintendo DSiWare™ welcomes Domo™, a strange creature who hatched from an egg. Also known as the popular mascot of Japan's NHK television station, Domo stars in five separate new Nintendo DSiWare games. Topping it off is RYGAR™, a 1980s arcade gem making its Virtual Console™ debut.

Enril the Wind Spirit returns to protect and guide young Toku by powering his jumps, aiding his glides and smashing his enemies. An evil adversary binds the fate of Toku's mother, Magdi, and the ancient Melodia civilization. To save Magdi, Toku and Enril must face new foes, enlist friends old and new, and wield incredible new powers - including the ability to switch the very seasons themselves - as they explore the diverse, richly interactive Chilling Peaks and Melodia City areas of the magical land of Mistralis. This enchanting, exhilarating, explorative game play experience is bursting with new ideas that make exceptional use of the Wii Remote™ controller. The awesome power of the Wind is back in the palm of your hand.

Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem

The controls are simple: Move the character with the control stick, adjust the crosshairs with the Wii Remote controller and shoot down targets while dodging enemy attacks. only if you don't have the modem with wifi capability.. as long as your modem can be wifi, then no need adaptor.. but you can still use free public wifi at anywhere available.
