QUOTE(Ya Rerd @ Feb 8 2012, 07:32 PM) Hey guys... need some advice from you. Aircon compressor dying and squeaky sound is normal.. those are the wear and tear.I sent my City iDSI 2007 for 160K service today and they found out that my aircon compressor pump is "dying". In the mornings when I cold start my car, there'll be squeaky sound and initially I suspected it could be some belt problem. However to my surprise it has something to do with compressor. Does anyone has any experience on this before? I think I'm gonna get a second opinion on this. I do not want to fork out RM4000+ (the price Honda SC quoted me) and in the end the problem ain't fixed.. Any recommended aircon shops with good experience on Honda cars? But quoted RM4k for replacement is a bit too much. I don't know about others, but I personally recommend you to go to any local workshop and get your aircon compressor replaced. New one (I can't remember much about the price) should not cost you more than RM1.5k (I think!), recon should be less than that. I got the squeaky sound before, seriously irritating. Went to Honda of course they ask to change the entire thing. Then I researched and went to this spare part shop, ask them to replace the aircon compressor to solve the issue but the shop (well they're honest) declined it (although they have sparepart) because they discussed the issue with me and the thing I really want is for the squeaky part to go away. They can't promise or confirm by changing aircon compressor it would solve the issue. So they asked me to check for another workshop recommendation instead. In the end, my brother called his personal mechanic to come and see my car. He tighten a screw and noise was GONE! Said belt screw was loose. I told him need to change aircon compressor? He said no need if I still feel it's cold. Just use until no cold air come out then only change. So... you might wanna check on that.. |

My Y2003 I-DSI got squeaky noise also but only during wet rainy days morning cold startup, no noise after on the road warm up, it's just the wet belt & pulleys & nothing to worry about, compressor is still original & running strong & cold. |

Hi all,
I am new here. I plan to buy used Honda City iDSI 2007 from my relative. Accident free, well maintenance and low mileage 40500km. Is it a good deal? I'm worry about the CVT gearbox problem. If well maintenance (ensure CVT oil not ATF oil etc), could the gearbox has longer lifespan than 160km? (average life I found from Internet) Does anyone with CVT that have exceeded 200km w/o any gearbox problem? I plan to drive the car for another 5 years. What's market price for this car? Thanks. Hi guys, I have a 2002 Honda City that's suffering from a low idle
When idling the RPM drops to around 400-500 and the car vibrates a lot Anyone knows how to adjust the idle higher? Read that there's an idle control screw, but can't seem to figure out how to get to it |

Dear all sifu,
my city 03 year have the steering problem which is: seem like something block in the steering, let say when i want to turn the steering for 5°, it will slightly turn more to 7° (just example). The mechanic told me is the steering rack problem, if change the new steering rack will cost around RM3k + .... Any one have other alternative way to solve this? |

QUOTE(cklee75 @ Mar 29 2012, 05:37 PM) Hi all, So many ppl ask question and no one answer. Ok let me start. My honda city is year 2005 and running at 200k km, So far no problem at all on my gearbox. How do I maintaince it? I change CVT gear oil only at Honda Service Center. 2 service change once. Means one time normal service at 5000km and the next service i already change the gear oil. To play safe than be sorry.I am new here. I plan to buy used Honda City iDSI 2007 from my relative. Accident free, well maintenance and low mileage 40500km. Is it a good deal? QUOTE(iamsolucky @ Apr 4 2012, 01:53 PM) Dear all sifu, This is very common issue for Honda City where the steering turn more than expected. It's dangerous too when things like this happen. So far, touchwood i didnt encounter such problem b4. Yes, this was due to steerling rack problem and cost for changing the whole rack will cost quite a boom. If possible you may try to ask around mechanic who does repair instead on changing the whole rack.my city 03 year have the steering problem which is: seem like something block in the steering, let say when i want to turn the steering for 5°, it will slightly turn more to 7° (just example). QUOTE(noprob @ May 3 2012, 02:49 PM) Change to lightened crank pulley and K&N open pod filter. Exhaust part can change straight flow muffler or decat 4-2-1 header. Reduce rim size maybe?. Last but not list, use lighter engine oil such as 5W 30. If got money to burn, engine transplant. |
