Normally if I encounter pedes over 4" in the wild,I normally grab them like how the hold venemous snakes
For those already in captivity, depends on each ones personality,I can just scoop my 9" Myanmar flame legs onto my palm while my Thai jewel will freak out if I do that

yah,but for those above 4inches,their legs also can hold onto your skin quite hard,so might have some scratches

Hi Lee CH. Careful with these pedes bro.

Sometimes, it is just not worth it - http://www.ispub.com/ostia/index.php?xmlFi...2/centipede.xml

Added on October 19, 2011, 4:50 pmFYI, I googled that today. You may have seen it already, but it's something new for me. Hope you'll not take it wrongly but the pede-handling pics are worrying..

Sad to see this thread dead. Anyway, I've recently caught a centipede from the toilet. There were many tiny ones but this is the first one I found that was this big. It was 2.5 inches long and after some research I'm pretty sure it's a Rhysida longipes. Had it for a week but sadly it died. sad.gif Maybe I'll try raising the little tiny ones to adulthood.

Yes, this cherry red wander into my room at midnite... my neighbour house doing renovation.
Other nearby house owner also told me they found centipede and killed it.. sweat.gif

I didnt kill it coz feel its colour very nice and centipede have strong surviving skill, .. so just catch, take pics, videos and released it back to jungle.
My housing area is near forest... i used to comb and hunt for fighting spiders last time.. u can find me in fighting spiders forums. Now no longer hunt.

Theres shop selling centipedes..
http://www.exoreptiles.com/my/index.php?main_page=index

You also can go to fish shop especially those selling arowana.. there should have cherry red centipede for sale..
Petaling shop pet & fish shop also maybe also have.

Whoa that's a fine specimen right there! How big was it? Wandering into your house you say, do you live near the forest? I really want a giant centipede but I have no idea where to find one.

Anyways, I now have six baby Rhysida Longipes, all about an inch long. lol pathetic I know. I feed them mosquitos.  biggrin.gif
