Cormocephalus sp. aren't that bad for starters. They are rather shy, not as bold and in your face like Scolopendra subspinipes. smile.gif

Picture time: Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans 'Red Leg' devouring poor mealworms.

That picture looks awefully familliar - Scolopendra heros arizonensis ? If the pic belongs to someone else, geo; it's best you quote your sources. smile.gif

It looks pretty much like a Rhysida longipes. These centipedes grow to an adult length of about 3inches, not much more than that.

A close up picture will help a lot. Here's a pic of my threesome. smile.gif

tq rafiq,  for the info....the centipedes that i caught measure around 3 inches...but it looks like a juvenile centipedes..are this species communal bcoz the small one that i kept together was almost decapitated...
*
They are communal as long as they are well fed brokenglass. I've been keeping 3 in a small tank with about 2inch deep cocopeat as substrate for about a month and a half now. Keep the cocopeat moist with some barks/leaves as hides. Less confrontation = less chances for cannibalism. I feed my pedes with mealworms and crickets.

Dizzy being naughty..lol! The more I look at it, the more I believe it's Alipes grandidieri. Aside from being able to stridulate, here's a good picture of the terminal legs.

Linko uno and Linko dos. *Credits to choobaine, god of pede. If got a superlenses, try macroing yours to compare.

Everyone's posted very beautiful pictures. Must say that I envy what you guys are having. Cherries never fail in photoshoots despite proving difficult to pause for a still pic. Lol!

Psst...Oldfart. Close up pics taken from the lateral view of the pede's trunk will amaze you even more. Try spotting it's spiracles. Your fat 7 incher will make a good model for this purpose. wink.gif

Ampang - the LFS located on MRR2 right after the Honda Service Centre near Ampang. It's a small shop on the left hand side of the road as you go from Ampang towards DUKE highway.

Hi Lee CH. Careful with these pedes bro.

Sometimes, it is just not worth it - http://www.ispub.com/ostia/index.php?xmlFi...2/centipede.xml

Added on October 19, 2011, 4:50 pmFYI, I googled that today. You may have seen it already, but it's something new for me. Hope you'll not take it wrongly but the pede-handling pics are worrying..
