Haha..ur rite, back to our beloved E66 discussion !!

Btw, did you guys check your phone's product code? I've posted a list of E66 product code in the main page. I'm asking coz one of my ex-colleague bought an E66 online which is suppose to be AP Set. And the product code is 0558511 (Philippines) instead of 0566493 (Msia) ohmy.gif . So pls be careful ya.

Added on October 4, 2008, 7:55 pmhow ur phone sounds. i think the speaker is a little bit letdown. i set it to the highest volume, still i cant barely listen to the phone ringing, esspecially in when the speaker is facing the surface of a table.

have any tips to help increase more of the volume sound?
*
I kinda think the speaker is pretty good enough, and wont make me miss any calls unless I'm in a disco. I think the speaker facing the surface of a table wont really affect the volume, but unless you cover the speakers then it'll turn really soft due to the placement of the speaker very near to the casing.

I'll try to search the net and other forums to see if there's any way to increase the volume software-wise, but a much more practical way is to change the speakers at phone shops (will void the warranty) blush.gif

Still charging the phone now. biggrin.gif

I thought to get 1 additional ori battery but the price is scared me(RM 2XX), so end up i bought another AP bat, additional ori charger, 1 x ori car charger, 4gb microsd(only upgrade to 8gb when needed, but not at the moment, but i still kept the ori 2gb microsd), that's it. cost me RM20XX everything. blush.gif

i must say, this is an elegant look, solid built classy mobile.  thumbup.gif

The E66 is indeed a truly solid rock-built phone with a touch of elegance. Mind telling how much you paid for the ori car charger?? I'm thinking of getting one too..

Ya, i actually read through the definitions from Wiki-wiki, but its pretty confusing though. Its all in "photography" language..haha tongue.gif .
Anyway, I was asking as in the E66 camera, we dun get to set the ISO level, but we can only set the EV instead. The output is that higher EV = brighter picture and otherwise. So I was just hoping a good explanation in layman terms might help photography nerdie like me to understand more, hehe sweat.gif

the current E66 is FP1 topped up with some FP2 features..but a search on the net certified that the E66 and E71 will be the last batch of Nokia phones featuring OS 9.2 FP1..others and future ones will be completely FP2.

I'm nt sure if there's a way to "upgrade" our OS to FP2..but it'll be great if this is possible, Hehe.

hehehhe.. sorry but that is what i usually do if i dont know whats the meaning of certain things...

however, you u are hardworking enough, you should just take pictar of the same subject& condition with different ev setting.. and you will get better picture of what is EV about.

thks seaedge, i'll definitely try that out biggrin.gif

well, tech gadgets memang like that..a phone can be state-of-the-art today, but an antique tomorrow..

besides, i highly doubt that a full FP2 will make so much difference with FP1..coz they'll still be based on the same OS9.2 platform. Perhaps the most noticeable changes would be the animations, UI and useability improvements...whereas performance-wise will not differ much as they'll need to re-design a different system architecture for that.

Juz my 2cents blush.gif

how does Garmin Mobile XT for Symbian S60 works?....

do it still need to pay gprs charges?...

*
Garmin Mobile XT is an alternative GPS navigation software to Nokia Maps. Its totally free, and GPRS charges occur only when you:

1. Surf to Garmin Online via phone
2. Use A-GPS (lock position faster via web)

yes the ori nokia 2gb microsd.

A question here, if we choose using mass storage instead of pc suite while connect via usb cable, looks like something weird happened. I can't access the memory card after that and have to restart the phone, and some setting will back to factory default such as if before this i set to store sms/contact in memory card, etc. Anyone having the same syndrom?
*
raul,

My experience with my E66 is:

1. Choose PC Suite > Can access both phone and card memory
2. Choose Mass Storage > Can only access card memory
3. Choose media transfer > Can only access card memory

During the first few days, there are times when after i've accessed the memory card, unplug the data cable, the memory card says that its still in use. So have to restart phone, but didnt experience any factory default thingy. Then I tried exploring using PC Suite and Mass Storage..now everytime I connect using PC Suite, I can access both phone and card memory.

Did you remove the Mass Storage properly by clicking Remove usb mass storage at your taskbar on PC? Or perhaps another way is just plug your memory card into adapter and use a card reader.. icon_rolleyes.gif

hi everyone... i bought my e66 when they jus launched... but suppose i'm the unlucky one cos most of u guys are quite happy with yr purchase... have quite a bit of problems... the camera response time is very slow... pics don't appear after shooting... sometimes pic appear upside down after shoot... can't transfer any file to memory card... shows file is corrupted n ask to format memory card but still the same prob after formatting... send to zitron n they upgrade software but still can't resolve the camera issue... the technician told me my memory card even hang his computer... haha... so they change me a new memory card...
*
Hi Darren.q,

Care to tell us which date you bought your E66 and the firmware version at that moment? If its the latest V 102.07.81, you shouldnt have faced these problems. Unless its solely the memory card's problem..but so far this is the first time I heard this problem.

Anyway, has Zitron revert back to you d? Have you got back your phone with the new memory card and is everything back to normal?

erm... that is not common thing for symbian phone (as far as i have used symbians)..

It is best that you make a serious complain about your phone to higher level in zitron. if AP phone can perform without any problem, yours as a original phone shouldnt have such problem. besides, if it(memory card) comes original with the package, they also shouldnt say its memory fault and ask YOU to replace it. if i were you, i will look for higher management level and voice out the problem faced. that is why we buy original rather than AP. smile.gif and ask for a new unit rather than wait for repairs.
*
I totally agree with Seaedge..even my AP phone shop gives me a 1-to-1 exchange warranty within first week..Perhaps you're really unlucky to get a faulty set..so I would advice that you be STERN vmad.gif and insists on a new handset, regardless whether its just the memory card problem. nod.gif

QUOTE(benzee @ Oct 3 2008, 12:21 AM)
Hello everyone,

I just got Nokia E66i from my GF for our anniversary. So sweet of her. She got me the black color model zitron set and with 4GB memory card. rclxms.gif  I got little fuss regarding the OS. Previously, I use NgageQD, I can just connect my phone to my PC and create folders and store all the files to the correct folders and it will display each folder in the phone but now with e66 I cant do that. I need to create all those folders first using the phone before I transfer all my files into the memory card using mass storage method. It will display all the files on their category rather then the folders I created.

Next is the album cover.. I can't get some album cover load up. I've to manually upload all the album cover into the phone first then login into the music player and add the album cover. There is no visualization... no full screen album cover like my GF Nokia N73. cry.gif  next is the playlist... I cant load ".wpl" list.. now want to try using m3u. keep you all updates biggrin.gif
*
benzee,

Are u still having problem with the album cover? I tried and its fine with my phone. I just attached the cover to all the songs via TT Player, then transfer to phone. And it'll display the cover when I play the songs..is it becoz your album cover images are too large? hmm.gif Mine is all below 500 pixels.

As for the folder, only File Manager can display your folders as per the memory card, whereas the Gallery will dump everything into its own categories ie Images, video clips etc..u have to re-create the folders inside Gallery. That's why I prefer using File Manager or some 3rd party apps like PhotoRite SP to view images.. blush.gif

I havent tried the playlist though..
