Hello everyone,

I just got Nokia E66i from my GF for our anniversary. So sweet of her. She got me the black color model zitron set and with 4GB memory card. rclxms.gif  I got little fuss regarding the OS. Previously, I use NgageQD, I can just connect my phone to my PC and create folders and store all the files to the correct folders and it will display each folder in the phone but now with e66 I cant do that. I need to create all those folders first using the phone before I transfer all my files into the memory card using mass storage method. It will display all the files on their category rather then the folders I created.

Next is the album cover.. I can't get some album cover load up. I've to manually upload all the album cover into the phone first then login into the music player and add the album cover. There is no visualization... no full screen album cover like my GF Nokia N73. cry.gif  next is the playlist... I cant load ".wpl" list.. now want to try using m3u. keep you all updates biggrin.gif

benzee,

Bro..is this your first time using S60 phone? Hehe..coz s60 memang like that. You can actually create folders in your PC and view them using Office>File Manager. I believe the problem you're talking about is the Gallery, which I dun really use. I prefer browsing my files using File Manager and some 3rd party software like PhotoRite. Besides, you can actually transfer all your files using the Media Transfer method, which is a lot lot easier.

About the album cover, I dun face any problem like wad u've described. I can upload the album cover on my PC and it shows on my music player. Well, I'd like to comment that E66 is really not meant to be a multimedia phone..thus these are some of the drawbacks. However, some 3rd party application should easily solve this problems though smile.gif

Seaedge,

I was pretty surprise of the captured images as well until I found out that the firmware was updated. However, I still cant confirm whether they did improve the image processing in this new firmware, but comparison between the images does prove something... biggrin.gif

ck_spaceboy mind posting some images of ur phone? =D
*
hi yijzen,

Umm, you mean post images of my E66 phone? Why wo..it looks all the same as the images you find on the net..better..Haha blush.gif

As for the difference between E-series and N-series, it's really hard to say. Both are targeted towards different market. I'd like to think that E-series is a superb business phone with great multimedia features, whilst N-series is a superb multimedia phone with great business features..haha laugh.gif

e66 is a great phone ! , if only the screen size had been 2.8inch then it'll be perfect
*
eyez98,

It is indeed..but if the screen is 2.8", wouldnt it be bigger..heavier..more bulky..? I'm pretty satisfied with the 2.4" though ..just nice blush.gif

ck_spaceboy, mind to share with us your comment after using if side by side comparing with any n-series phone?
*
Raul Bro,

I still have to say that the E-series and N-series both have their own advantages. My comments would be that multimedia features on E-series are on the low side compared to N-series, as this is the way it's supposed to be. If E-series are great in both business and multimedia, Nokia wouldnt be making profit out of their N-series..rite? smile.gif

Perhaps you can go through all the reviews on the net and judge their comments ya. I would say that E66 is the perfect phone for me in every aspects, but some may think otherwise..its pretty abstract. Cheers.

Added on October 3, 2008, 9:41 amgot any 3rd party software for some caller id picture to appear very large and visible at the screen like iphone?
*
Hem, surprisingly I faced the same problem with my friend's E66 last night, after restarting the phone..everything's ok. But I didnt face that problem with my phone hmm.gif Did you install any 3rd party software in your phone..coz smts they may be the cause of this problem. But its really minor though.

I think the software you're looking for is FS Caller.. try looking for it at www.ipmart-forum.com, and good luck searching. There's tonnes of software there.. brows.gif

Hmm, good question..but I think its distributed by both, as I've seen Avaxx units and benzee mentioned that he got a Zitron set.

hurm, how long can ur battery last? just charge it around last nite, and allredy lost 3 bar of battery without heavy used. is this a effect using an AP set? do u think the battery is not original?
*
Hem, since last nite till now, are you running memory-hungry apps such as camera, GPS, WLAN etc? Mine can lasts for like 2~3 days with usual usage of SMS-ing and answering calls. Did you charge your battery for at least 8 hours in the first time?

Unfortunately, we cannot verify the BL-4U battery as it does not have any verification code. Perhaps you can go to this link :

Nokia - Check your battery

and check if your battery is original or not, although fake stickers nowadays look so real tongue.gif

if i will go for est. usage per day as below:

30min internet browsing(3g)
20min wlan
1hour+ phone calling
20+ sms
very minimal music/camera

the ori battery could last up to?
*
Maybe 2 days? Coz tat's roughly my usage as well..minus the 3G. It's really hard 2 measure..but I think bringing the tiny charger around shouldnt be a big problem..hehe. Besides, the charger charges extremely fast..charging to full from flat takes less than 1 1/2 hrs..!! thumbup.gif

*
As a matter of fact, I think they still do. New batteries will need to be charged for that period of time to fully ionized (if this's the correct term) the battery. Perhaps I need to do some research on this..hehe

sounds good. actually i had been stuck with e66 vs n95 8gb vs n82 vs omnia.

my budget = max 2.5k

Looks like i can get the ori e66 + 8gb + bt headset + additional bat, car charger, etc. Anything can i add into the package? biggrin.gif
*
wow..ur budget's pretty high shocking.gif
IMHO, some of the extra thingys which you can consider are:
1. Maybe add a car phone holder (useful while GPS-ing)
2. a nice Golla phone case
3. an extra battery
4. an "Invisible Shield" for protection
5. a nice bluetooth stereo headset for music listening cool.gif

one thing for sure, that they remove the tint in the photo that the previous firmware had. besides that, the image looks abit sharper than previous one.
*
Ya, notice all the reviews mentioned a kinda bluish tint on the output images. In the new firmware, colour processing seems really improved. However, I failed to find any changelogs on the firmware releases...anyone successful in finding the changelogs?

Another question...any one can describe wad does EV (Exposure Value) do in camera? Thks

hey bro,
Just send u a pm. I did use before the old version of s60 which is my NgageQD. Then play with my GF's n73. I want the FS caller software too bad is not free  blush.gif I got some problem installing some themes that I dl from mobile88. It has this error msg stating certificate error. Can anyone help me? shakehead.gif  doh.gif

But the plastic part of the white models seems emm..plastic? Hehe.. as for the black ones, notice that the plastic parts are metallic dark grey..chun!! cool2.gif

benzee,

added you on the list d!! Welcome to the club dude!! biggrin.gif
For the FS caller *ahem* version, can try go to this link:

Ipmart-Forum

Good luck searching ya. I just posted a link previously for a website with really nice themes. As for the certificate error, try go Tools > Settings > Application > App Manager; then select All for "software installation" and Off for "Online certificate check". Hopefully this will work..if it doesnt, I still have another method that might work brows.gif

I tried checking online for EV, and I know that it's got something to do with lighting + shutter..haha. Real confusing..but all I knw is that higher EV = brighter picture and vice versa. Hehe.

Maybe shud go photography thread and ask the sifus' there...
