this is what i heard. but cannot reveal the source.  Apple is actually reluctant to ship iphone here due to one problem.  In the deal they supposed to have with the telco got some clauses that they are not agree.  There will be a 3rd party who will benefit from commission that has to be paid by customer and apple. so this third party entity will get untung atas angin.  Apple not agree on some people doing nothing but get the profit from apple and customer. i salute this apple company.

So typical Malaysian way of doing business...if this is true I would hope that Apple never ever launch iPhone here in Malaysia tongue.gif

I m not expect iPhone will come in Malaysia 1, read the phase I to phase III country, there have a lot lower class than Malaysia but still pretty launch iPhone at their country. Why aren't we? I agree with what Karim said.

if this is true then i will not support malaysia iPhone units. and if it's even locked then goodbye.
actually really looking forward for official malaysia iPhone for my next purchase, but now very disappointed.
i can wait longer, but i wont wait and supporting this if this is what really happens.

better get one from GS.

Why wait while you can get a unlock unit in S'pore? Such a torment to wait but if you have the patiences, by all means.
If iphone comes in, u r bound to a 2 year contract with the telco which will cause you more $$$. You're stuck.
I have a 3G iphone now and i don't have to sure-come to any contract. thumbup.gif

actually i'm now using iPhone 1st gen since end 2007, skipping i3g and waiting for the next gen instead.

really hope for iPhone to arrive here early next year so when next gen is available it will appear in our stores too.

i'm considering the possibility of iPhone to be sold here for prepaid plan too, as some countries do provide iPhones with pay as u go plan. plus most people in Malaysia are on prepaid plans. but i dont have problem if it needed to be bound with contract as long as the price of the phone itself is ok and the plan tied is not 'cekik darah', as i also currently on postpaid.

but if the rumor bout 3rd party got 'untung atas angin' is true then i wont support our official iPhone. better support sellers in GS thread, at least they put some effort on bringing it here.

and if our iPhone is locked, then bye bye malaysia iPhone.

mmm...never heard bout iPhone nano, and even if apple is going to introduce a new iphone this year it will only have bump in capacity, nothing else.

still happy with 1st gen and will just skip i3g (i even get another 1st gen as my first iPhone already cracked). it's just that i prefer 1st gen more than current iPhone model (plus it's cheaper), so i have no urge to buy i3g. waiting if there is more surprises from Apple next year, as they already got PA Semi working for next gen version, plus newly introduced Broadcom chip supports 802.11n (if apple gonna use it anyway). or myb something extra.

mmm...off-topic already. but i only hope that iPhone will arrive here before the next gen is made available. but at this rate (3rd party benefits from the comission) looks like i'll be disappointed more in the end even if the iPhone does come early.
