Sirim accept test reports from international test centre like FCC.

so it is just paper work for the approval

if you are interested more information can be found at

I'm assuming SIRIM inspects the physical aspects of the iPhone's internals, ensuring that all materials used are in compliance with the Malaysian QC standards, and whether they meet environmental directives.

I've read of many iPhone shipments from overseas in the past having been through these inspection procedures and passed fine with authentic SIRIM certifications. I suppose it shouldn't be a problem now.

SIRIM passed? what does that implies? i think no big deal.

i thought every imported electrical device need that stupid SIRIM sticker to indicate "sirim approve"?

they don't even check.. they just put on a sticker.

really? interesting thou....

bcoz of some reason before my friend had to post the iphone to me from australia using FEX EX.... the sad thing is i have to pay the 10% tax, and get this... a RM250 fees to SIRIM for approval purposes...

i call the SIRIM guy and ask them how many days should i leave the phone... he said just pay.... they wont look at it or do nothing about it...

the conclusion of my story is.... they dont even bother looking at it.... they just wanted the money.... sheesh....
and i end up asking my friend to send it by australian parcel. well that's another story lah

this is what i heard. but cannot reveal the source. Apple is actually reluctant to ship iphone here due to one problem. In the deal they supposed to have with the telco got some clauses that they are not agree. There will be a 3rd party who will benefit from commission that has to be paid by customer and apple. so this third party entity will get untung atas angin. Apple not agree on some people doing nothing but get the profit from apple and customer. i salute this apple company.
