Apple is gearing up for its third and final phase of international iPhone expansion during the 2008 calendar year, which will include launches in Russia, Brazil and Egypt, but not China or Korea. Malaysia too (added in by me )


Phase I
22 countries

Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK and the US.


Phase II
Another 22

Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Estonia, Greece, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, India, Liechtenstein, Macau, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, and Uruguay.


Phase III
29 countries
Botswana, Brazil, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Croatia, Dominican Republic, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Jamaica, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Lithuania, Madagascar, Mali, Malta, Mauritius, Nicaragua, Niger, Panama, Russia, Qatar, Senegal, South Africa, Turkey, and Venezuela.

why no malaysia 1?

I know everyone wants Apple to officially launch the iPhone 3G, but this thread is pointless. Countries that are choose to launch the iPhone 3G are already shown in WWDC '08. This is just a news on the dates of the future countries that are going to get the phone. Stop whining, it won't be here. Get over it.

If malaysia is able to launch,it should happen at the same time with singapore...

the only thing i scare is malaysia going to sell locked iphone 3G after all the long waits...

Probally 80% it will sell locked iPhone 3G(contract) here.

of course la...telco want make money

or choose to go the Singtel route, people are not aware of i3G setting hence the data charges cost a bomb.

The problem iPhone 3G need subsidize by telco...

y no Malaysia?very simple...Because our gov haven come to agree on how Apple want to rasuah them by bringing iphone here.Especially their colonies..

no matter how much we crave for it..malaysia aint getting i3g via contracted telcos...
it is like a dream neva cming true for us here...
maybe malaysian telco dun quiet see the prospect here..

better be safe than sorry if they really sell locked iphone then i big stick loh...better go buy in HK sooner.

i-phone not launching in Malaysia...disappointing but however it may because apple do not see the opportunity here Singapore have it, and we do not have it.....i guess the only way to do it is to buy it from other countries...

our telco malas to put more staff on customer services department la. Once they start launch, Ramai la ty mcm mana nak import sim card, Mcm mana nak masuk lagu bla.... bla. Btw, just forget maxis la, stay tune with Celcom muahahagaha
