Strange sound from the camera lens.
Go to Camera mode (with Review turned on)
Take picture
Delete the picture shown as review
It goes to show pictures taken previously. Camera lens still open
Press Back button (centre round button) to go back to Camera
There's a zzzz sound and the lens seem to be moving.

is this normal ?

I just try as what you mention above.

They is no zzzz (or any) sound at all after pressing the back button to go back to camera. (I always press the camera button to go back, hehe)

I believe this is not normal in this case and I suggest you bring back to the seller for checking or replace with a new unit.

I'm thinking of purchasing it today.

How's the battery life?

Based on your experience, if I just leave it on standby how long will it last?

I think around 2 to 3 days if without touching it. I can not guarantee on it because I use the phone rapidly and I normally charge it every two days once.

Those are friggin awesome pics! thumbup.gif

BTW I checked the prices, they're selling PIXON at the Samsung Center in Mid-Valley for RM 2099.
But there's another store in Mid-Valley selling for RM 2000.

I'm planning to wait until SE W995 comes out before I decide whether to buy this phone. W995 has better specs (wifi), but no touch screen.
But by then PIXON price should have dropped a bit more. nod.gif

So far until now I never regret take this phone.

Pros:
- Fantastic 8.0 Mega Pixel camera especially the Macro Mode. (use the preset text mode will give you extremely sharp details image)
- Fast respond, good touch feeling.
- Well done, extremely stable and never hang until now, already 2 months+ used. (Never switch off until now)
- Microsoft Word, Excel, P.Point and Adobe PDF reader.
- Sharp and Clear 240x400 resolution TFT LCD

Cons:
- No Wifi (for me it still ok)
- Internet browser - Netfront could be done more better.
- The QVGA or WQVGA video record not enough smooth.
- The search bar at Contact I feel better put on right side rather than left side. (I am not left handle)
- Photos slide show could be much more better.

* I will not wait for SE W995 even thought Wifi is included because it really not comparable with Samsung Pixon (This is my own opinion)
** Future phone that interesting me include: SE Idou & Samsung Omnia HD.

Attached with few more photos taken with Samsung Pixon icon_idea.gif
