I tried the goldcard method but it isn't available anymore unless you buy the software...
correct me if i'm wrong... @faizpsp89 One of my relative bought it for RM500, 2nd hand... G1 is very old already.. |

I just installed CyanogenMod5Test6 on my G1. Had a heck of a time with DangerSPL. Thought I had bricked my phone at one point! But after rebooting twice, it worked! Phew!

maybe i am slowpoke. but to G1 users, have you tried out flashing your rom to 2.1 (eclair) ?

isnt test 6 already quite stable ? or still at experimental ? btw, do u know the latest version that is stable ? im using 1.6 btw with CM4.2.15.1

I flashed it. Couldn't wait for the stable release. It was pretty painless until I thought I had bricked my phone when I missed a step while installing DangerSPL! But a couple of googled articles on the Net said it was OK. Phew!
I can't really tell the difference in speed but all the extra features of Eclair are there (except 3D). I'm downloading Test7 as I type. And I read Cyanogen saying this will be the last Test. Yay! |

The latest Stable release from Cyanogen? Its CM4 (running Android 1.6).
Official OTA is 1.6. But this is no fun, is it. The fun part is rooting your phone and trying out the Mods!  |

haha. anyway, one question: after installing weather widget donate (free), i found out that my phone has eventually lags and sometimes the android core stops running. my battery life also decreased. is there any tweak to this ? or should i just remove the weather widget (with flip clock) ?

I've tried a few weather widgets. They all suck up the battery and processing power for some odd reason. Even the paid-app Beautiful Widget also sucks up processing power.
