Anyone heard about this SIVC before? I heard a presentation about it. Anyone member got any good/bad comment to share? What's the FAQ to ask before joining a vacation club?

All Time sharing vacation clubs are almost the same...lure u & sweet talk you...Once u joined them, all the promises not fulfill suc as:

1) Promised 7 days stay but din mentioned only 2 days weekend!!
2) The ever increase yearly maintenance fee...Ranging from RM270 & higher but no renovation as promised
3) U need to book early (Atleast 6-9mth in advance or else no unit available
4) After taking a/c the oppotunity cost on the advances paid, the cost per room which they said about RM70-RM90 per day actually can comes to RM100/day instead...(OK-lah but not as cheap as u expected)
5) No breakfast..u hv to buy your own so if added in the room cost probably RM150!! sad.gif

Quite true what stimix said..

HW, for Sunway vacation, u can use all ur entitlement on weekends.. but instead of having"seven nights" per year, it will become something like "three and a half nights" per year only.(pls check with them for accuracy)

Im a legend member, and our maintenance fee was only increased once for the past ten years..(so it not as bad as it may seems)Im not sure about other clubs.

the rest is as close as what stimix said..

if u can accept it ..then go for it..Timesharing fits many people... not all people. blush.gif

I think all this vacation club stuff is cheating customers. Many hidden terms and conditions. You must pre book a few months ahead. Not applicable during school holidays and so on. Very difficult to even get a room.

Agree with all the replier here,

Vacation Club sucks to the max, only sweet talk in the beginning.

I was Berjaya VC members, seeing lots of privileges removed and hotels sold. Staying in Berjaya Times Square requires to pay additional RM 100 a nite surcharge plus minus your entitlement.

Heard that they are removing Redang Beach Resort also (no longer available to Berjaya VC members).

If like that whats the point of joining when you use your entitlement yet you still need to pay. Sigh.

I joined the club for platinum membership, paying RM10000++ by installment.

They have only 2 home resorts, Pyramid Suites & Studios and Water Chalets Port Dickson, so choices are very limited in Malaysia. So if you buy minimum 270 points, you may entitle 1 week stay at these 2 home resorts, but if you use yur point for stay at Made Available Resort like Sunway Resort Hotel, Pyramid Tower, Sunway Penang, you will only can have 2 to 4 nights stay only as vacation points required is much more for Made Available Resort compared to home resort.

But for Other International Made Available Resort, you still able to enjoy 7 nights stay with 270 points, so this is how their points system works.

It's worth if you always travel oversea for vacation, eg Phuket, Koh Samui, Bali.

I have been to Bali staying at one of the resort available for SVIC member, Jayakarta Bali Residence, located at Jalan Legian.

I was allocated with fully furnished 2 rooms apartment.

The apartment is very spacious, one master bed room with double bed and 2nd room with 2 single bed. Living area with sofa bed and dining area equipped with Kitchenette and dining table and chairs.

Two bathrooms in the apartment, big bath room features a jacuzzi & shower is attached to master bedroom.

The resort also replenished bottled water cooler for us, its's complimentary.

The good thing of oversea resort is we don't need to pay any extra surchage, as far as I understand for Berjaya Vacation member, they impose surcharge for staying at affiliated hotels.

i'm also a member in SIVC. Overall is ok i would say.
so far i only use it once in Bangkok. Room is great, big like what fuwa have in Bali. Only downside is location. But bangkok is small, so where u stayed doesnt really matters.

but one thing good for SIVC is that u can convert ur point n dump it to RCI. which they said is the largest vacation club in the world, they have thousand of hotel/resort around the world. Plus their hotel is much better (4-5stars) based on their hotel selection magazine. But i have yet to try with RCI, maybe Fuwa got experience with it.

Overall i think is good for frequent flier, downside is 7 days per year is very little..

Yeah, thanks nonadoes for the input. So, mind sharing how many years you have joined this club?

I've discussed with Fuwa too, we are both quite concern about the point system where they can increase the point required per night stay. Other than that, i think should be ok!

Other not so good thing about it is the oversea especially Europe where you need to utilise all 7 nights in one shot!

I've just joined this club, so calling all the SIVC member, let's discuss about the up/down side about this club?

Anyone approached by free 3D/2N stay in local hotels? And end up getting introduced to a concept?

Was wondering if anyone joined this Leisure Holidays Membership?

How many types of membership packages?

How much is the joining fee?

Mind to share their membership service, such as customer service, reservations approve rate?

I've never heard of Leisure Holidays Membership, not sure how good is that?

Regarding the customer service, take Sunway vacation club,it is not actually that bad, except that they really like call u a lot (eventhough you clearly indicate that emailing is your priority?)

Recently tried to book a room in French Riviera on December for August 2009, they dragged my reservation until early this year then only tell me that my preferred date got all booked up, reschedule me into another days, now have to re-plan our travelling schedule again sad.gif
