Ok here's the problem,
I have a HP desktop which I have already installed Windows XP and Microsoft Office 2003 basic i think (the Office which had Word, Outlook and Excel).
Recently I'm encountering a problem which everytime I save an Excel document which I saved into .xls right? I can open the file normally after I saved it. But here's the real problem comes. After I give it a nice reboot, and I tried opening the .xls file again, the wordings inside seems to be running out of place and I can still see my previous typed documents with some extra @@@@#$#$!&@#^^$&#! fonts like this.
Every .xls file that I save has the same format where the first column consists of @@@@@ and there's like 4-5 lines of them.

I'm sorry but I dont have a screenshot of the problem as it is actually from my friend's pc and he's now back to KL.

I've tried re-formatting the windows again as I thought the Windows is corrupted and the same problem occurs again right after a fresh installation.

Can any sifus help me with this? I dont know whether I'm posting at the right thread but please help me.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Wonka

Might be a font issue. Does it happen with xls files from other computers? And since it's an ori installation, i think you can call MS to ask about it.

I think this issue came from conflict between excel 2003 VS excel 2007, any file from office 2007 cant be read in older versions of office system,if u want to use it in older versions of office like 2003,u need to change it back to compatible mode 2003-2007 mode before u can use it on office 2003.hope this will help.

I think may be is the virus problem, and the virus is store in your second partition, so you try to format your second partition as well.
