My 012 phone bill was too high so i didnt pay, above rm500...my line was barred...since july .....so i dont plan 2 use the phone no. any more....then dis month i got letter from a third party company saying is collection company for 012.....the letter stated there take legal action lah,, bla bla bla... if not pay within 7 days of letter la....bla bla bla..
and then 4 days ago i get my maxis phone bill for ogos...WTF?...now the phone bill is rm 600!!.. i thinking my phone line barred in july so i cant make any call also...but ogos subcription fee is stil bill.....So my quiestion is:

1.Will collection company take legal action or watever action (like along splash red paint in my house) ...if i dont pay

2.Should i call maxis to cancel my subcription so they stop billing me ..

3. and now currently im using prepaid also from maxis... will they barred my prepaid line b coz of my unpaid
postpaid bill????

or 4. Jst pay the goddamn bill?? but seriouly i dont plan 2 use back the no. also n also no $$$$$..

Yikes. I had a problem with a collection agency too, but that was not my fault, and after filing a complaint with SKMM/MCMC the issue has been resolved...relatively.

1) You made those calls, and you don't want to pay the bills? I mean, how the hell do you think you're gonna survive? Keep changing numbers every few months? So yeah, the collection agency is authorised to bug and hound you every day until you pay Maxis. They can't do anything more UNTIL they can prove you are "dengan sengaja" evading their efforts. Then, if Maxis authorises legal action, good luck.

2)Maxis won't cancel your subscription until you TERMINATE your account by paying your arrears and then cancelling.

3) Not sure.

4) Just pay. Make a civilised attempt at being responsible, discuss with Maxis and the Collection Agency on some installment arrangement, take a personal loan, cry to parents if you have to.

dang.. u use rm500++ and dont want to pay? if 10k customer like you, sure maxis will bankrupt lo..
of coz they charge u for ogos subscription fee becoz u didnt terminate ur acc.
just go to maxis center to terminate ur acc.
no, i dont think they barred ur prepaid line becoz prepaid and postpaid are using different system.
lastly, u better just pay the bill coz they can blacklisted u. So, u cannot use their service in the future. They can take u legal action, better read t&c lorh. Usually stated there.

1. they might sue you and blacklist you and declare you bankrupt.

2. depends.. if you contract stated 2 years and you still have a few months to go on, you'll be charged your subscription fee of that few months too. only after you pay up all the amount then you would be allowed to cancel your subscription.

3. i don't think they will barr your prepaid line.

4. be a man. u use it, u pay for it... try get a prostitute then refuse to pay the goddamn service charge and see? ( even tho you're not satisfied with her service and don't plan to call her back for next round in future... )

Dude. All you have to do is walk-in to Maxis Centre or call them and arrange for mercy! Better yet, just walk-in, that way you'll have a chance to speak to someone with authority. Tell them your situation and be frank about it. Discuss payment options and what you're willing to pay monthly or lump sum, up to you. Nego from there. Maxis ain't like Banks, with interest rates and all, they'll just Blacklist you for life and you won't be ablt to apply for any postpaid services in Malaysia.

Same thing happened to me whilst I was on TMTouch some time back. It was a company given number and all bills are directly auto-deducted from my salary. However, there was some RM400+- that was outstanding of which Finance didn't make payment to TMTouch, however, was deducted from my last drawn salary. This was a mess. Didn't know about this until I wanted to sign-up for Celcom Broaband and the agent told me there was an outstanding on this TMTouch number in 2001!!! Dang... that far back? Oh well, didn't want to wait, so I asked kindly could I nego one-off payment. To my surprise, they gave me 40% OFF for wanting to pay off the account. WELL WHY DON'T YOU LOOK AT THAT! Being responsible has its perks you know! So i ended up paying only RM200+- or so and that's IT!!! They provided me a settlement letter and I was off of the Blacklist! Just like that!!!

So you see, just walk-in and negotiate. Tell them what you're willing to pay and they'll be glad to help out. Don't worry... all is well and I know you'll do the right thing...

yea, like gfunk11 says..u could try to negotiate ur payment with them..i;ve done so before with TM Net streamyx..got an outstanding bill of RM600++ they agreed to let me pay half the amount first and reactivate my line again

i think its good that u wanna settle it off.....i wish you good luck...Arrange some kind of payment.....dont just leave it alone and forget about it cos it will never go away. Worse still, if they sue you for the arreas or for bankruptcy, thats going onto your financial record. Will make it difficult for you to get loans later in life.

If u dont settle it now.....its probably gonna be in the thousands in years to come. Pay it off and close this ugly chapter of your life.

Added on September 17, 2008, 6:33 pmMy advice is go to any maxis centre and talk to their consultant/manager about this matter. Ask them to give some rebates and negotiate on how to pay installment. I have somebody that use maxis for 1k and can pay rm50 per month as installment to settle all the debt. Usually call their customer centre don't work.

you can choose not to pay, but your name will be blacklisted. the next time you want to register postpaid, you wont be able to do it

Don't simple say anything without any fact!
They won't be able to sue bankruptcy when the amount is not more than RM20,000.
What they can do is charge you for cheating them!
Means you WILLFULLY subscribe to their plan just to make free call, then after that run away.
But i never heard anything like that happen before, at least in Malaysia.

So don't worry......
Save your RM600 instead of paying these amount to the liar Anandan.
But do take note you won't be able to subscribe to MAXIS PLAN ANYMORE!
Including broadband or whatsoever.
BUT JUST MAXIS!!! NOT OTHER TELCO as claimed by some unresponsible member which talks without fact!!

Why you just said " won't be able to subscribe maxis" only? Any proof for that?
