cottonkandy, lek lai is something like a natural metal particle which is in black color. It's normally found in caves. I've forgotten where I read the article from on the internet about lek lai. Normally, b4 monks melts the lek lai from a particular rock in the cave, they will chant first. Ancient thais believe that lek lai is very powerful and nowadays, its very hard to source for it. Another alternative for lek lai is makkapat.

hi bro..
it is believed that lek lai really has an energy/spirit of its own and it is believed to be quite high...
as for valuable, well,if u have a genuine leklai that can really help you, will you still re-sell it..?
but ofcoz not everyone can handle the power of leklai..

ahh bro sprinta really experienced in leklai stuff..
the monks have to chant for quite some time,it is not always successful, when it is not successful, some things will sure to happen, and even when they pass to someone, they will seek permission from the leklai, and the person normally hold the upmost respect to the leklai and must not do any harm, else it is believed the leklai will disappear itself...
makkapat or megasit also can..

You all really devote yourself in pursuing thai gods and amulets? As in find a sifu, learn, and collect amulets?

Hi eXPeri3nc3,

Yeah I devoted myself in pursuing thai gods and amulets. I dont have a sifu and I learned it through friends and experience. Nowadays I seldom pursue amulets anymore. I'm more into chanting together with monks.

Hi SPRINTA,

I see. Haha cool. Actually I'm interested la, but, it can be for leisure also right?

I have a question too, if you don't mind.

I have an amulet, I forgot what it's called I asked here before, and I chant to it like a few months once... because I heard that if I leave it on the table or on the cupboard and I don't chant to it sometimes the god will go away and the bad stuffs or evil spirits will go into the amulet. Is it true?

What is the suitable way to chant to an amulet? Do you need incense? I'm using the chinese one. Am I doing it right? unsure.gif

Oh ya the chant if you're wondering:

That katha at the bottom is Luang Phor Thuad's katha. About the chanting for few months once, theres no such thing as if you leave it on the table or cupboard, it will go away. Unless the amulet is cracked then it cannot be worn anymore. Perhaps, its those barang stuffs. Hahaha. For further enquiries, you may ask our sifu over here which is LP Maloa and seek for his advise. Fyi, I chant everyday without lighting incense as im renting a room. Any incense is fine. It doesnt matter whether its chinese or those indian (black incense). As long as you have the heart to pray, that would be fine. I have a 3 inch Luang Phor Thuad and some assorted amulets that i put on a table with a glass of water. When i chant, i will sit infront of them.

Luang Phor Thuad? I see I see. I assume that katha is like a mantra?

Oh so it won't go away. I see. No cracks so far, last time cracked dy, I ask my mum to send it back to where she got it from and got it fixed.

Why do you need a bowl / cup of water? Should you put it above waist level when you pray? Do you need to sit in certain position only you can do so?

Thanks. notworthy.gif

We need a cup of water is because to show respect to buddha. I change that everyday. Just put the cup on the table where the buddha statue resides (in front of the statue where its placed). And yes, we need to sit in a specific posture. If you would like to learn chanting, u can go to any siamese temple as they do chant everyday (evening chanting). My advise to you is that dont simply chant katha. Perhaps our LP Maloa would elaborate further on this. I've use to chant pidta katha last time but stopped due to that I didnt feel comfortable after that.

oh hai there experience..
it is believed that when an amulet is concentrated in making by high-levels monks, the "powers" is embedded to the amulets on a lifetime..if you didnt chant, it will be fine just wearing or putting on a table,
as long as you have a respect for it,it will be okay..
like what bro sprinta said...put a glass of water,as a respect to buddha and the amulets..if possible, make sure the glass is lower than the amulet...
