Anyone having this problem? My Dopod 838Pro seems to be acting erratically this morning. Ever since turn on, it'll show DiGi (with EDGE logo on top of screen) as normal for a while. Then suddenly change to UMTS DiGi (with 3G logo on top of screen) for one or two seconds, then no signal. Then after a while, it goes back to DiGi with EDGE logo. It'll then be normal for a few minutes before suddenly repeating 3G for one second->No signal for a while->Normal.

Very funny, but could this means that DiGi is also finally rolling out their 3G system? hmm.gif

yup...3g is already in DiGi's pipeline already..

or your problem could be affected by today's start for MNP (mobile number portability)..

Well, at least it's starting to show result. In the form of interference on my Phone tongue.gif

I called DiGi customer care. They admit that they're testing 3G, apologized and asked me to try to live with it. They say the offer will only start next year, beginning with Broadband services.

But cool leh, 3G! Finally can use my phone to make video calls rclxm9.gif drool.gif rclxms.gif

hey hey......digi rolling out 3g....thats good news....
perhaps soon enough....

wonder how much would the charges be.......since digi had to pay premium price to get its 3g licence via buying time...

surely they would have to recoup their investment somehow.....

If get irritated, just set the phone network to GSM Only. Not UMTS or Both.

Because DiGi is the only operator without 3G, therefore they always try to compete with the other operator to gain customer's trust by giving the lowest price since lack of 3G is their drawback. If DiGi were to have 3G, I'm afraid they wont be as good as what they offers now because all the operator equally having 3G and they dont have to provide the cheapest rate as they have 3G and people who need 3G wont change to other operator already. At the same time the name that they have built for the pass few years will increase the number of customer if they roll out 3G. However how goood will the rate be in future since they have so many customers already ? I doubt they will go cheapest to get more customer like what Maxis/Hotlink did for the pass few years.
