Because DiGi is the only operator without 3G, therefore they always try to compete with the other operator to gain customer's trust by giving the lowest price since lack of 3G is their drawback. If DiGi were to have 3G, I'm afraid they wont be as good as what they offers now because all the operator equally having 3G and they dont have to provide the cheapest rate as they have 3G and people who need 3G wont change to other operator already. At the same time the name that they have built for the pass few years will increase the number of customer if they roll out 3G. However how goood will the rate be in future since they have so many customers already ? I doubt they will go cheapest to get more customer like what Maxis/Hotlink did for the pass few years.
yes but u forget that digi already was waging price wars with the other telco's even when all of them did not have 3g and they were all on the same footing. I think that the only reason that digi's 3G would be more expensive is that they had to spend more to get the licence and as such would have to recoup their investment by transferring some of the costs to the consumer. But this is all theoretical at this point. We can keep on speculating, but we will have to see when the roll out the first of their 3G offerings.
