QUOTE(Terence573 @ Oct 30 2008, 10:21 PM) using pc to post the messege hehe coz I'm at home. It beats the ati reference cooler at idle temp. But still a bit hot to me... so what it is best use for? 8800GT? why ur card can go beyond the 850 boundaries? It served pretty good for my 4850 last time. 47/61C as compared to ref. cooler of 70/90C Akasa is single slot that's y it wont beat dual slot cooler. Added on October 30, 2008, 10:46 pmQUOTE(tech3910 @ Oct 30 2008, 10:41 PM) perhaps the ASUS TOP bios.......... i google around i found out dat not many 4870 can even get pass 800 wall. i'm very happy wit my 4870, capable of 877 if i increase the voltage.................... No benchies no proof. This post has been edited by owikh84: Oct 30 2008, 10:46 PM

QUOTE(LeechFever @ Nov 2 2008, 02:19 PM) I'm considering buying the ASUS EAH4850 recommended by one of my friend. However, when I check it out, there seem to be no problem except that it runs very hot up to 80C or more. ANyone own this can tell me if it's going to be any problem. I know about coolant and fan that can reduce the temp but if someone can assure me that that are just normal temperature then I don't need to fork out extra money cause it's already at the threshold of my budget. Increase the fan speed to 50% thru CCC 8.10 & u'll get a better temp like 60C idle.

Not worthy if 4830 for about RM500. If OCed 4830 to higher than 4850 also stability is an issue.

QUOTE(tellmewhy @ Nov 7 2008, 06:57 PM) how u know its used gigabyte 8800gt? Why I claimed it's a used replacement gc: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Where are my accessories??? It's a custom fugly box with foam covering the card. Look at the bent cooler fins, dented DVI ports, scratch on the pins, and it's an old Type A silver Zalman cooler, as compared to my last Type B with newer golden Zalman cooler.. After that called up the shop & SDS to complain. Lastly SDS agreed to replace it with 9800GT, but still without accessories & box. This post has been edited by owikh84: Nov 7 2008, 08:13 PM

QUOTE(tellmewhy @ Nov 7 2008, 08:35 PM) wah... really kns grafic cardl orh ... Yeah yeah look at zhen^wei's reply below. Having their own technician is not a good news after all. QUOTE(zhen^wei @ Nov 7 2008, 07:38 PM) actually. HIS just have problem with previous warranty deparment in charge ppl. now all the RMA had improve. and now they have to take some times to settle previous RMA issues. btw, the warranty time depends on which dealers you get the HIS GC from. scanart no carry gigabyte, only nationtech and SDS, i think you mean SDS. gigabyte have their own technician that can do repair locally and not need send back to manufactury (this is what i heard), so the RMA wil be faster than other brands. maybe your sellers had delay the RMA process bah. But, I have positive experience with Scanart for Gecube and other products they carry, they do exchange one to one with me when i send items for warranty.

Yes I knew it already took me 4 months liao. And they just changed the cooler only without replace it with a new one.
