why my screen keep back to the original (max) setting of contrast every time i start up my vista?

any method can save it , so that i no nid keep changing the contrast setting? becoz max setting is too bright for me 

wonder why you guys encounter such problem. i've put down some brightness using the Fn key after setting up Vista and it stays there ever since.

check wit cpuid my Memory-->Channel mode has been grey out.... i can't seems to know what channel is it running.
and another thing is ....it's detected running on 333Mhz..... is this real? i'm running on 2x2gb 667 as well

try on winxp and vista as well same result...anyone know y?

CPU-Z also can only display speed info for core #0, option to go to other core has been greyed out. What is going on with this notebook?

My BIOS is F23 (02/Oct/2008). Even in HP website only have F22 as the latest BIOS. What happening with HP?

That is normal. 333 is for 667.

HP did not make it troublesome for XP users because there's no official XP support to begin with.
So it's more like "those who insist on installing XP, even after knowing that there's no official support, are asking for problems".
Anyways after some tweaks, Vista rocks.

Maybe F23 is not a big update. I suggest u wait for the next official update.
If u hate the slow bootup i suggest u use sleep mode for notebook. Becareful though because battery will drain up so make sure its fully charge all the time.

Perhaps your CQ experienced a major heart attack while sleeping and died on the spot.

Just kidding of course.

mine  cq40-125ax got CIR as well...... my windows vista automatic detect it and give me a solution to download the driver.

i'm pretty satisfied wit Vista Ultimate 64bit sp1 compare to XP pro 64bit sp2. i found out the vista is pretty much stable and smooth than XP.
it's vista 64bit .....32bit kinda suck

My friend just bought this lappie (CQ40-126AU) yesterday...when we tried to install XP, after "Press Any key to boot from CD", we hit a key, and the screen went blank. Vista installed no problem. I'm pretty sure this is not SATA Driver issue because we never got to the stage where the setup says it doesn't detect any HDD. In any case the CD was a slipstreamed Win XP CD with the necessary SATA drivers (tried and tested on other recent laptops with no problem).

Any ideas?

Works nicely on my 115AU with vista ultimate.

Ganged = dual channel mode for ram

Phenom has two memory controllers on the CPU.

Ganged is setting both memory controllers to work together which allows data (that is being used by all cores) to await on the queue until they are accessed.

Unganged means that the two controllers work independently. This allows them to work asynchronously with reference to individual clocks with their one or two Dimms.

From what I heard ganged gives you a single 128 bit channel while unganged gives you a dual 64 bit channels.And that ganged is better for single threaded apps and unganged for multithreaded.
