sex appeal..hmm, can't deny it for sure
even lingerie has sex appeal (FYI, not your granny panties or bloomer)
as long as it's showing some skin, it does have more or less some degree of sex appeal tongue.gif
even LBD without tights is enough to grasp the attention of guys no matter where you go (unless you have really bad scars on your leg)

have you tried ladder resist sheer tights?
agree on that part on support style, at least it doesn't slide down easily that you have to keep adjusting it

I have not tried any of those run resist hosiery. My hose usually quite lasting, wind dry usually. I kept my nail well trimmed. I also used pumice stone to rub the edges of new shoes, straps as well to remove potential sharp edges that may catch the delicate fabrics. Also, around work places, seats, area that has sharp edges, stay away from them . Well I guess you do not wear them in exposed manner so my last statement probably did not apply.

Due to $$ , I usually took decent care of them. I am not too much into fancy design hosiery to make a fashion statement, but my wearing frequency is pretty high, almost daily basis, that's why I have decent deal of opinions. I was reading some old fashion magazines, a few years back , hosiery was not too popular, I got into wearing them due to works. Recent fashion trend caught on quite a bit. Started noticing many young girls wearing them, in particular opaque design. I asked some of my lady friends, many treated wearing hose as single use clothing item (sheer) , that's why the cheapo all flooding the market selling in packs of dozens.

good hosiery is probably cheaper in long run, if wear properly with care, added support comfort, more reliable too. I just hated having to worry about runs in my stockings when meeting customers, having to make frequent run to restroom. I used to carry extra pair in my beg, but with better hosiery, that worry is almost never there.

interesting to notice many male hosiery coming to market. kind of expensive too, looks like niche market.

"Did you noticed that after a couple of wearings, even good hosiery tends to get loose and it is not as tight as it used to be when it's new?"

Ya, it happened. Especially near the elastic band area, made it tends to roll down easily. The nice thing about support style is, it clings on much better than those normal hose. Also, normal hose if worn with panty, it tends to slide down more easily vs without panty, hosiery on its own cling on the skin better. I read elsewhere in this forum, some lady suggested having panty over it, I thought it is not a bad idea but does get a bit hot and uncomfortable at times.

"was wondering those flight attendants dat have to wear hosiery everyday, do they have extra allowance on those? or they are supplied by the airline? cos i saw those air asia flight attendants are wearing the same shade/color. while other airlines have diff color. remember one of u has frens working as flight attendant, maybe u could ask them. "

A friend was a flight attendant in neighboring country (you can guess), the company does not provide allowance for hosiery, that's why wearing is optional, but for some ladies (my fren included), they are wearing them for support reason, aiding circulation , they stood for long hours serving customers.
But she told me for some Taiwanese flight attendant , hosiery is a must, the company even specified exactly the color code and brand, stockings is usually discouraged due to ease of slipping and accidental exposure , especially when one is trying help pax pushing its oversize, overweight luggage into overhead compartment.

I am not sure if A.Asia did the same.

As for pattered pantyhose should be alright but fish net not really I think  sweat.gif
I wore only patterned pantyhose to office before, as for fish net looks cheap to me tongue.gif

Patterned pantyhose probably is ok, depends on office environment, some office and its bosses that see dressing as a form individual freedom, you can probably get away with almost anything. Some are not, having said that, I do agree that those extra large fishnet tends to look a bit "weird" for office. But I have seen some micro-fishnet design that even has a seam running at the back , I thought it was really cool, very feminine gives leg slimmer appearance.

Well, normally if wearing OL Suits to work then pantyhose shouldn't be a problem at all. I'm lucky that my boss is quite flexible with the dress code but as far as I know, quite many Malaysian female are unlikely enjoy wearing hosiery

wearing hosiery in malaysia can be quite a drag at times.. especially lack good quality and choice of pantyhose. For me , out of necessity, I slowly worked around it.

I saw very beautiful leggs pantyhose selling at Wu Fern Pu in DETV's PTS Dimo TV. Wondering anyone has tried or purchased, I would like to ask my friend to buy for me if it's worth!

@kelliemiow
someone selling it here in this forum.. I am wearing hanes and leggs, the support range. It feels good and not too hot, I am wearing skin color sheer.
another brand is kolotex sheer relief, a flight attendant friend recommended to me this brand.

I am looking at some european brand.. http://www.pantyhose-stockings-hosiery.com/
for me,, comfort and feeling is a big of different to me as I wearing them almost daily and good hosiery usually also proportional to price too, be ready for that, but at least they don't run and feel undersized like those cheapo brand cosmetic hose .

Quite a bit activities here lately.. was browsing for some aerobic steps and came across this video ..

I think this video will send some you guys going wow! Remember one earlier post I mentioned a lady I met into her 50s, was into aerobic dancing in younger days ,, she told me pantyhose was standard attire dance-wear .. seems like-in thing in 80s..

youtube.lnkYoutube link

Only thing I do not quite understand about 80s is , why do they wear something like one piece swimwear, unlike two piece design common seen now, easier to visit restroom , at least. nod.gif

this is more of question for gals,,

i noticed Kate Middleton was quite into hosiery, the sheer one, recently I noticed during one of her visit to Canada, her skirt was blown up revealed her hose covered upper thighs, i had a similar experience once, skirt was hitched up revealing the top reinforced area, for easily a minute or so without me knowing, until a fine gentleman walking behind hinted me..

my question is , wearing hosiery seemed to reduce the sensation and ability to tell such problem, so what is your solution to avoid such embarrassing moment or accidental exposure..

A friend suggested safety pants over the hose, to me, I just hate the hot and humid condition of having extra layer of clothing .
thx, ms

I have a pair I really like the design but...just doesn't translate well on me. I risk looking too risque =( even in casual clothes... maybe that's just in my mind. difficult to match~

I don't quite fancy leggings as I feel that they cut me of at my ankles thus making me look stumpy  I'm all for the illusion of making legs look longer

--Wao, this forum grows quite a bit since my last visit. Could not even remember (or find) where I left off..

@Bonjour, @lurverocker

Agreed that legging usually gave the illusion of shorter leg. A co-worker friend that lives in S'pore, used to work part time as grooming advisor (helping out her aunt's biz) share with me a few little tips about hosiery and leggings.

Fancy pattern hose (sheer), or tights (more opaque ones, UK term for both), needs to be selective, even for color.

For those with shorter leg (not slim), if possible, wear darker color hosiery, if patterned hose, choose those with line running along the leg line (back seamed stockings or pantyhose is one such example, or ribbed design )- avoid those with black/white/ ring band - or any pattern that run sideway , it makes the leg looks even shorter. If possible, avoid anything can draw attention to the leg. Keep skirt length to knee length (or just above, A-style) and no more (conceal thigh area), for shorts- cycling shorts length, at least mid thigh or below, again darker color (navy blue, black, dark red).

For the shorter leg, but slimmer, any color is usually fine. But overly light color hose , if possible, do avoid, stays with skin tone ,grey ,sheer black. Pattern , usually any pattern is fine, the trouble is, at times, a perfect looking leg on its own is already nice but wearing something makes it look wider then it actually is. Skirt length can be shorter to reveal a slimmer proportion leg even up to thigh area. Avoid complete opaque black if leg overly thin (will mention later). Any color of hose can be matched with similar color short or skirt. If you prefer to reveal your stocking top while wearing skirt with split, do go for those with slightly wider band , or lace at the top, it gives illusion of longer looking leg.

For longer leg, not slim- same applies , stay with darker hose, almost same rule applies on patterns, avoid any pattern that run sideway, only those that runs along the leg line (back / side seamed, ribbed ) . Any skirt that has split prefer to be at the side (cheongsam style, split mid thigh or below) , avoid split at the back because it give illusion of cellulite accumulate while walking. Anyway, keep length to knee length if possible and not shorter. Having said that, with stockings or hold up (without skirt split, or else looks thrashy) is probably better choice for humid place like ours, for split with reveal top maybe not too appropriate for office.

For long slimmer leg. Usually any color or pattern is fine, avoid white unless you are bridesmaid or dressing up as lolita. Cream color with matching skirt or shoe is furthest one can go. If possible also avoid totally black opaque, it give illusion of overly thin (like match stick look),can look out of proportion at times like a almost broke match stik, sheer black is usually good enough.

In summary,
For slimmer legs , any color is usually fine, or pattern. More care is needed for wider frame.
Lace design is usually nice, for those with wider upper leg, keep skirt to knee length, A style. If upper thigh is wider , any pattern usually amplifies the effect, also wider skirt design usually makes the leg proportionally narrower.
If legs is spotless, sheer hose with shiny effect is usually good to accentuate the effect, else stays with matt looking hose.
Any fancy color hose, can easily be matched with skirt color if one tries to be safe.
Office wear, usually skin color, black, black diamond pattern are now quite acceptable in office, skin color with some pattern is quite ok too in air-con.

Another interesting tip was, she herself dance quite a bit, for performance, she told me one nice hose design is fishnet, those traditional small net type (not those big pattern), fishnet do give nice illusion of slimmer effect. She told me she usually has a pair of sheer skin color hose under fishnet while doing performance, fishnet can be black or skin tone but sheer hose beneath it can be shiny, feeling less rough during vigorous movements . If you watch dance programs, many ball room dancer usually applies the same tip. I noticed Rihanna and Katy Perry did that pretty often during performance. Micro-net (very small net) Probably not that easy to find here.

hope the tips are useful..

I still felt nice panties and panty hose is better then just safety pants .. cause to me safety pants looks like boy leg cut panties ... somehow it's like wearing 2 layer of panties  sweat.gif

In one of the writing I did earlier, I for one wears support style pantyhose, tends to be thicker a bit. I usually opt for "non sheer to waist" type with cotton crotch design, and I wear them without panties unless it is the time of the month . It cost more though. But much more comfortable under our hot humid weather. Also, I noticed that wearing without panty usually made the hose stays up better and does not slide down too easily for whole day wearing. Also, I need not to worry abt VPL.

Usually I wear pencil skirt with suit, knee length or lower, my company has dress code of suit (skirt or pants suit), for skirt , hose is a must and only two colors allows, black or skin color with no pattern. I usually prefer skin tone, I found out for black ones , whenever I had a run, it is so obvious.
