I myself felt that sheer pantyhose not that suitable for men to wear, especially those ultra sheer one. For me, I would prefer men to wear opaque type pantyhose. If really want to wear sheer type, then would prefer those 20D and above, those 15D is just too sheer and not too suitable for men. This is my own opinion only.

Hi there, I'm sorry to intrude into your privacy.
But your profile states that you're a male and you mentioned that you wear pantyhose?
I thought pantyhose is for female and your profile name is "HosieryGuy".
No offense, just curious.

Yeah ... you read it right and clear. I am a guy and I wear pantyhose or hosiery in general.
As Silky said ... hosiery should be for both gender without discrimination.

Probably you need to spend a little more time in this thread, there are still a minority of guy who really pursue the idea of hosiery and taking it seriously. Some cases has the passion way beyond the woman rolleyes.gif

No worry, I am not offended at all.

Cheers mate!

Hi,
I won't deny it when I say I do wear tights (opaques) on my outings. Sometimes people just can't seem to take their eyes of me especially women when I'm at the mall accompanied by my girlfriend. I did get some thumbs up from them occasionally. And yes, she's completely cool with it. Also we do not share the same hosiery as our sizes are different. Not to mention the hygiene point of view.

As for a fashion statement, guys wearing tights or hose are of the minority where you can hardly spot anyone walking with it (in Malaysia that is). At this point in time, people especially here in Malaysia do not know what to expect for themselves (or how to put up with) when they see a male wearing tights.

Personally, tights are fabulous and it does make your legs look and feel good. (I'll not get in to the fetish part on wearing tights/hose as you can have search the net for it.)

For those (guys) who are curious on how they feel like, I would recommend that you put some on and feel it for yourself. And if you don't know how to put on a hose go here, http://shapings.com/Merchant/merchant.mv?s...ng_on_pantyhose
or simply ask a female counterpart for guidance.

Cheers, smile.gif
Roger

It is interesting to know that more and more guys discussing pantyhose, and even some guys do wear it. It is still uncommon for guys to wear pantyhose in Malaysia as still not generally accepted in Malaysia, espcially for those that have old fashion mind. I cant imagine that what happen if I wear pantyhose in front of my parents.....

Even the spandex/lycra shorts (think this should be more common for guys than pantyhose, right) also not seeing many guy wear it, even in the sports. It will take an extremely long time for man pantyhose to be popular in Malaysia. Needless to say, the popularity of pantyhose for gal is increasing day by day.

Its really a fashion statement to say what garment is common or not doesn't really matter. In this sense hosiery. And it lies solely on the wearer to make it fit the situation. Whatever you put on is entirely base on your taste and your perception of the function of the attire to any specific occasion.

So it is only fair for a person who have had experience with the attire(tights) to have a say on what's to wear and not to in the eyes of people.
In other words, it is really ridiculous for a person who had not try on a pantyhose/tights to judge others or for that matter society as a whole about whats the in thing and whats not, and further seed the situation of the public perception that men wearing tights is a big no.

Fashion comes and go. And if you have the means and are comfortable with whatever you put on its totally a personal thing. Sure the society in general will be shock if they come across a person who dresses complete different from the daily attire of the "in crowd". But then again, don't you ever get bored with what you put day in day out. I know I would. After all, a successful guy is not a 24/7 a shirt, tie and pants guy.
It is only those who are willing to try out new things and taking risk that are winners of the day.

I do know that when I do kick the bucket someday, I won't have any regrets.

goodday,
Roger

Hi, I just came back from China, Suzhou. I found out one thing that you won't see such scene in Malaysia. More than 80% of ladies over there will wear pantyhose/thigh high, mostly they won't go out bare-footed. I was wondering why and just curious about it. So I went to asked a local lady about it, and the lady told me that usually they will wear pantyhose all the time, even at home. This is because of the humid weather in Suzhou. She even said that "original Suzhou citizen" will know the humid weather will cause leg pain in future, they called it (Fung Supp), this kind of humid is even serious when raining, all the moisture on the ground will come up invisibility, they call it "humid radiation". She also said that don't think that pantyhose is only a very thin layer and can't give any help or protection, she said because of this thin layer of pantyhose, already protected so many Suzhou citizen from getting (fung supp) and a lot of old people over there still can walk for long hour without any leg pain. She said Malaysia weather is quite same as in Suzhou, maybe even more humid than Suzhou, but Malaysian like to bare-footed and show off their bare leg to people. hmm.gif

I second that. Hosiery has more pros than cons in our daily lives. Some may wear support tights for relieving pain especially among the elderly in their mid 40s and above.

I would give thumbs up for the chinese people for taking precaution or whatsoever in rheumatism prevention when old ages sets in. Anyways, like what I've said no matter what reason you're wearing hosiery for, its always good and beneficial.

The cup is always half full.

Hi everyonne
I live in Australia and nowadays I see most male cyclist wear sports tights. They are extend from waist down to ankle and they hug just as tightly as tights. Most will have socks on their feet under these tights.

I think they wear it for the aerodynamic effect.
and perhaps coz they love nylon and lycra feeling.. tongue.gif

It is so common place now. I recommend any guys who wanna be out in public wearing tights to take up cycling
those footless sports tights are even worn by whole clubs of "Footie" players in Australia. ( a form of football where the ball resembles the american NFL ball)

I admire your courage Roger , to display your stockinged legs in public.
You might just be able to get yourself into the Malaysian guiness book of records for being the first heterosexual male to wear hosiery in public in Malaysia.

China is amazing. They have a few good brands which I've tried.
Naier and Yourmy.
soft, velvetty, huggy and tight.

If you ever go to the big cities, do remember to check out the hosiery departments coz they stock Japanese brands like
Gunze Sabrina, Fukuske and Atsugi as well.

Shanghai would definitely have all the expensive European brands like Wolford, cK, Fogal and Levante.
Guangzhou more local and Japanese stuff.

over here in Australia, we have a lot of European hosiery as well. (Ambra, Levante, Basque, Rede)
Local brands like Kayser , Kolotex and Platinum are quite affordable, long lasting and comfy too

Then finally , Target and Kmart sells some pretty amazing tights and pantyhose too that are from China
Fantastic feel, and very very good price.
I might even think of selling some to Malaysian wearers so you all can try it out. Some would help girl to lose weight too.
Any one interested?

check out http://www.zodee.com.au/Womens/Hosiery/

Then

p.m. me on jennyleeph@yahoo.com.au

I'll try and buy it at a cheaper price locally and send to you via postage all in one package .
No profit for me.
Doing it out of the kindness of my heart.

Happy wearing. Keep those beautiful legs hosed up.

Hi ppl,

Its been a while this topic has been sitting by itself around the corner of this forum. Thanks to "wolfordsthebest" for rejuvenating it back to life.

Wolfordsthebest, I would not dream of having my name written on the Malaysia GBR for bring myself up to par with the latest fashion in town.
Though personally, I do hope someday I too, will be able to spot more guys with the latest tight fashion in public places.

cheerios,
Roger smile.gif

Just found this site. Great to know that the hosiery scene in Malaysia is alive and kicking.

I'm a wearer as well. Wore the kolotex brand before, it's quite nice and smooth. I was told most of the cabin crew in Australia wear the brand as it is durable and good for standing very long.

I have some collections of pantyhose and stockings. Pretty Polly, Aristoc, Levante, Hue, Hanes, Oroblu, and some no name taiwanese brands. Surprisingly the Taiwanese brand quite nice to wear. The best pair of pantyhose I have I think is from M&S, it' surprisingly quite fit and comfortable. Still thinking over whether to get a pair of wolford. Heard so many good reviews about the brand...what keeping me back is the price. I presume you wore wolford, what is your view?

It is very nice of you to offer to buy and send over.

Hey guys, I'm totally new to this hosiery department.. I have to say that stockings (erm.. those that cover your entire leg?) are the best fashion personal discovery of mine!

Initially, it never crossed my mine to even own a pair.. Until I started my internship and frankly.. the scabs and scars (i'm a klutz lol) are not the most flattering sights at all!

So far the ones that I have are really opaque (280D) - black (bought from a flea market vendor in The Curve), dark gray (bought in Sg Wang for RM15.. And there's already a loooong scratch on it hahaha. See what I mean by klutz lolzzz), and lastly one in white (-.- School girl-ish -.-)

I just ordered some from Korea.. Via a friend's preorder blog. If it's any good I'll spread the news here! Apparently the quality is soooo much better (but I dunno how true is this la)

Cheers!
