QUOTE(lowyard @ Apr 29 2009, 04:01 PM)
just figure out dat hotlink youth plan r still xpensiv. juz 4 yr validity? only applicable for those studying in colleges/uni? no more ten ten ten ten ten ten i got activ10 (meaning no special rates like uox 8pax 10cents call n 0.5cent sms)? 50cents to off net mms? 25cents mms on net??

celcom youth plan (school of x & university of x) offers a person with validity of up to 13 yrs (if dat person apply since 13yrs old). a very big advantage for those savvy users who often still hav credit when the validity xpires.

maxis got no 3G at all in my uni. celcom got it there but now its slow like hell coz all d students there use celcom brdbnd. i wish maxis got 3G in d uni so dat the load will b distributed equally.. but i believe many will use maxis brdbnd so supposingly there'll be less traffic for celcom brdbnd which means more speed.

as for digi, haha, my uni got no cover for those d'campus thing.. so its out of equation..

Wait, i can bash other telco in here right? i mean, this is like a uox fanclub rite? lol
*
of course UOX still have some advantages.. and that is why im still using UOX, and many of my fren also still using UOX (so we still can sms half cent each other).

also Celcom have the widest and clearest coverage for both 2G and 3G, that also a advantage of using Celcom.

calling careline from hotlink is not free, while all Celcom user can contact careline free of charge.

celcom users also enjoying 7 days free call and sms to 8pax during birthday

also other bonuses such as suprise reload bonus rm10, rm20, rm50. celcom prepaid user also have special broadband package unlimited daily access or unlimited weekly access. celcom call me tones charge based on fixed monthly fee while maxis user being charge base on how many songs in their library.. etc.. etc..

that is just few advantages of using celcom.. i will not interested to switch my uox to youth club just because of very slight 1 or 2 cent different.. not worth.. also in my phonebook still majority number celcom (around 45%), maxis (around 35%), digi (around 10%), others - home/house number or office number or sms gateway number (around 10%)

Is there a way to have an unlimited data plan to be integrated into UOX, except the daily and weekly plan? I can't unleash my phone's fullest potential without an unlimited data plan, but no way I'm gonna ditch my UOX just for that.
*
no, only postpaid plan (CEP50, CEP20, P18, P38, etc, etc) can integrated with monthly unlimited data package

Would it be costly to check my email using IMAP with GPRS?
*
celcom will charge u 10sen/10kb, so depending on your email size, if you set to download text only (without any graphic or attachment) it might cost you only few cents..

haha yes, u can also ask simcard replacement/upgrading but using the same number.. the fake owner will shock suddently his/her simcard inactive..

but i dont think u want to do that, no one want to use the same phone number that currently use by other people.. just ask them to terminate that number, and u apply for a new uox number.

ai ya... I tried to change my UOX to other plan through *118# but celcom replied the service not available at the moment... lazy go celcom branch to terminate or change plan....

oh ya... for those who wanna port to celcom prepaid, need to go celcom branch coz that only took 1 day...
If u go celcom point or blue cube, they only can port u to postpaid...
celcom point and blue cube just a celcom reseller/agent so normally took 2 days or more...
I recommended everyone go to celcom branch to port to celcom coz only took 1 day and sometimes is much much faster...
*
change your UOX to other plan? why? i thought UOX is the cheapest celcom prepaid plan. in fact, users from other plan (Blue, Xpax, etc) are always dream to be allowed to switch to UOX directly. but u want the other way around haha

yes, i agree if you want to port faster, go to celcom branch directly.. if you do port request at celcom dealer, it will take time because some dealer keep all the form till end of the week, then only submitted it all in a batch.

QUOTE(holoman @ Nov 6 2009, 04:07 PM)
youth club hotlink and upax celcom
which one is more worth ?
i mean rate for sms/call to other telco
cuz planning to get 1 upax soon smile.gif
*
both offer very cheap rates.. but hotlink youth club is slightly cheaper.. but uox/sox on the other hand offer some other advantages such as
- 8pax (got half-cent sms, 10cent call),
- anyone between 13 to 25 can register without need any student card
- wider 2g suitable if u travel a lot
- wider 3g coverage very useful to make video call anywhere
- free careline service (although the service is not so good lol)
- cheaper broadband prepaid service (rm6/day or rm20/week)
- using facebook via sms unlimited for rm1/week (new)
- got monthly usage bonuse, birthday free call/sms, and suprise reload bonus

but its up to you lah.. laugh.gif

by the way another good news

For NOVEMBER and DECEMBER 2009 only

You will receive double monthly usage bonus as follows:-

Use RM50 - got 6% bonus (usually only 3%)
Use RM150 - got 10% bonus (usually only 5%)
use RM300 - got 16% bonus (usually only 8%)

Open to all xpax, uox, and sox user only.

Note: i usually get around rm3 to rm4 per month for my monthly bonus. seem likely for this next two month i'll get maybe around rm6 to rm8 per month free credit.. well, its a small amount but still its FREE lol.

thanks.

why only NOV and DEC..
they should just continue with the double bonus longer..

if its always double, then it no longer called 'promotion'.. and we cannot call its double anymore because it already become normal.

now they rarely give bonus of free credit...kedekut la..
i guess because of the big increase in celcom users (are they?), so they cant sustain that bonus...

actually they do give a bonus

last friday (1st jan) they offer 30% free credit when u reload minimum rm30
rm30 - free rm9
rm50 - free rm15
rm100 - free rm30

but all the free credit valid within 7 days only. not a problem for me to finish my rm15 free credit in one week hehe

QUOTE(omarule87 @ Jan 27 2010, 04:43 PM)
does this apply to any other phone besides blackberry(celcom package)?

I asked the ppl there in celcom centre n they said the broadband prepaid service is only applicable to blackberry which can be bought thru Xpax plan, is this true?

I'm a heavy internet user so I need an unlimited access but at da same time i still wanna use UOX, is this possible?
*
don't ask ppl at the celcom centre, they do not know anything tongue.gif (they dont really understand what we are asking for, and they dont really sure what they talking about)

broadband internet and blackberry internet service (BIS) is a different package.

you can easily subscribe broadband via *118# and choose Celcom Broadband from the menu, choose either daily plan or weekly plan.

the daily plan allow you to surf internet 24hours (1 day) for only rm6, while weekly plan allow you to use internet for the whole week (7 days) for only rm20.

be sure that your plan is successfully activated before start surfing (to avoid super duper expensive pay per use charge), and stop surfing before the plan ended (u can renew subscribtion if you still want continue surfing).

i have to agree with u over the celcom centre service teams, they are terrible in solving our problem, until now i got pending problem and they are not even following up with me, im gonna make a complain soon and make sure the top management team know the prob that the customer are facing over their customer service support team, im really pissed!

ok back to the broandband service, let say if i want to subscribe to the daily plan, can i use it only when i need it? I would only turn to this plan when wifi option is unavailable
*
yes, u can use it only when u need it. for example today u dont have wifi so u subscribe daily plan, tomorrow u have wifi so u dont have to subscribe daily plan.
