HDMI will not affect picture/audio quality (sharpness, contrast, colors, etc) but it can have data loss, especially with those thin cap ayam brands. In this case it's the cable bandwidth that's lacking.

The same thing happened when I listen to CDs with my DVD player, no audio for every 10 seconds or so. The HDMI was given free witht he DVD player. I changed to a new cable and now everything is good.

When i first bought it..the HDMI cable was not functioning (no handshake)..so the tv can't detect any signal..so i changed with my DVD's HDMI cable and it works...so i went back to the shop and the guy changed my initial cable to a bit more expensive one (RM90)..hopefully it's the cable because i don't want to have to change my 40" TV or send my PS3 back to SG for repair...both will cost me a bomb

If it's truly the HDMI cable..i will try to get the monster HDMI cable..

Ahh..i remembered one thing..he didn't give me a new RM90 cable..it's a used one of his..because the cable that i purchased is not in stock..i wonder why i even agree at that time
