QUOTE(squall_12 @ Sep 5 2008, 11:56 AM) only 1 thing i dont like about gainward 4850gs is the vrm and memory chip is not cover with heatsink which force me to wasted money on heatsink lol other that than gainward 4850 is best bang for buck... What ramsinks did you use? I wanna try to mount them too! Please share Added on September 5, 2008, 11:20 amBTW, my card will be back prolly by tomorrow from RMA. Netraid swapped 1-1 for mine due to unexpected faultiness and um, my bad luck. Haha. Which means they provide quick response to RMA issues! Customer service 10/10! Added on September 5, 2008, 11:21 am@crazy_rose, what's the name of the gainward models? This post has been edited by desmond1310: Sep 5 2008, 11:21 AM

QUOTE(squall_12 @ Sep 5 2008, 01:58 PM) i try to take some picture later im free to show u guy how i put my heatsink... i didnt remove the warranty as i only remove the cover of the heatsink and only vrm chip can cover with heatsink.. Netraid did told me that 3mm(height) ramsinks can't fit onto the samsung chips around the the R770 chip. Must get 2.5mm ones. Sounds insanely thin. And moderno don't carry 2.5mm ramsinks.. I contacted him yesterday. Cooler Master's ones are 5mm high.. so yeah, can't fit the samsung chips underneath the heatsink. Time to make BULK on 2.5MM RAMSINKS! Someone please?

Yeah, I suppose you should buy those angled SATA cables.. but if you don't wish to, i guess you have to cramp it. I managed to cramp my power cables on the left side of the PCIE slot after inserting my Gainward card. There's a little gap that fits nicely.
Added on September 6, 2008, 12:40 amIt's a 90 degrees angled SATA cable.. One of it came with my LG DVD ROM.

QUOTE(raymones89 @ Sep 6 2008, 01:41 AM) lol, i have no choice, but it seems like the gap is also very small unless the angled sata is very very small... where can i find the angled sata? how much does it cost? I've no clue about the price, but good luck finding it at your nearby computer accessories shops. This post has been edited by desmond1310: Sep 6 2008, 12:43 AM

QUOTE(tgairborne @ Sep 6 2008, 10:09 PM) Woots, proud owner of Gainward 4870 GS. Just got it yesterday night from a forumer. Rig almost done, just left 3 more parts (mobo, psu, proc) to gao dim the whole thing. PS: This monster is really huge, I wonder it can fit inside my casing or not ==" Going for Intel or AMD proc?

Added on September 7, 2008, 12:05 amQUOTE(Dark Steno @ Sep 7 2008, 01:01 AM) Reverting back to 8.7 looks refreshing. Only one blackout encountered so far. Sounds encouraging. Will try that out on Monday. This post has been edited by desmond1310: Sep 7 2008, 12:05 AM

QUOTE(raymones89 @ Sep 7 2008, 01:18 AM) my temp never goes above 60. but the heatsink is quite hot when i touch them lol how about the others? You could get cooler temps if you manually adjust the fan speed. Set it at 50/55%. May just satisfy you more

This may sound weird but, if don't mind, please list the amount of RAM you're using too!
