Hey dudes and dudettes.

This is my first time here and i gotta congratulate you on this nice comunity from what i`ve seen so far. I have a couple of questions and maybe you guys can help me out:

I recently purchased a Gainward HD 4850 (non-GS version with the black plastic) and i`m a bit confused as to how you should OC that thing cos i tried that using the CCC Overdrive option with Auto tune, and after it tested the frequencies and passed them, the next thing was to freeze my PC and show green vertical stripes on the screen. Is it because of the PSU? I have a Gigabyte Superb 460W. Or something else? I also mention that the black screen problem also arrised but only at the begining and only in Crysis. After searching for a few answers with Saint Google, i changed the PCIe frequency in the mobo BIOS and the problem was solved. I played Warhead for a whole day without anything crashing down all around me.

Another thing is, also in gpu-z the fan speed always shows 6% with 1 RPM, nomatter what the load. That can`t be right, so i was wondering if there is something to be done.

What is this... RMA you speak of? i`m from Romania, so i don`t fully understand. i`m guessing you`re talking about warranty or something like that.

I have to wait a week or so for the next card to come in, cos they have to test it and whatnot. Hopefully it will be the stable card you guys are all enjoying. For the moment, i`ll go back to my sweet old x1650. *sigh* guess i`ll have to dig up the old Counter Strike cd...

well.. maybe i should be more specific on my question... i intend to leave my pc open for couples of months...is the PSU able to survive that? I doubt my current PSU would...

wut kinda information do u wana noe...well..i havent actually benchmarked it...jst bought it 2days ago...
well its alot quieter den the 512mb version(IMO) performance wise...its able to run crysis in high settings@1680x1050 with rather smooth playable frame rates
as for very high settings...it can still achieve bearly playable frame rates abt 20+ fps on avg,so far im quite satisfied...yet to oc the card...gona get my hands into it later
BTW any GS 4870 1gb users here?can i noe whch ati catalyst is better///8.7 beta or the latest 8.10

oo ic...so 8.10 is a better choice as compared to 8.7 beta...but certain websites recommended it instead of those newer ones..
so how do u feel bt the card? u oced till how much ?

FINALLY ! i going to make a jump from Nvidia8600 to ATI4850GS (Is this jump worth the price?)

The only reason for me to do so is because of ....... FAR CRY 2 !

1st inquiry - Do i have to uninstall my Nvidia driver 1st before i plug in the 4850? will the drive conflict if i didn't uninstall the old drive?

2nd inquiry - Cooler Master Real Power 450W, can support this sweet candy right?

The Fan speed for the new batch of 4850GS always stuck at 50%?
I never saw it increase b4 although I'm using auto fan speed setting.
