QUOTE(Zan @ Oct 17 2008, 09:03 PM) Hey dudes and dudettes. think the prob with the green lines was caused by overheated memory chips..This is my first time here and i gotta congratulate you on this nice comunity from what i`ve seen so far. I have a couple of questions and maybe you guys can help me out: I recently purchased a Gainward HD 4850 (non-GS version with the black plastic) and i`m a bit confused as to how you should OC that thing cos i tried that using the CCC Overdrive option with Auto tune, and after it tested the frequencies and passed them, the next thing was to freeze my PC and show green vertical stripes on the screen. Is it because of the PSU? I have a Gigabyte Superb 460W. Or something else? I also mention that the black screen problem also arrised but only at the begining and only in Crysis. After searching for a few answers with Saint Google, i changed the PCIe frequency in the mobo BIOS and the problem was solved. I played Warhead for a whole day without anything crashing down all around me. Another thing is, also in gpu-z the fan speed always shows 6% with 1 RPM, nomatter what the load. That can`t be right, so i was wondering if there is something to be done. Allrighty then. That about covers it. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work. Cheers btw..welcome to gainward club QUOTE(desmond1310 @ Oct 18 2008, 11:30 AM) relax bro..it will come soon..some day...waaa.i was gone for only 3 days and the page have added soo much.. |

QUOTE(humanoid86 @ Oct 23 2008, 09:21 AM) well its alot quieter den the 512mb version(IMO) performance wise...its able to run crysis in high settings@1680x1050 with rather smooth playable frame rates as for very high settings...it can still achieve bearly playable frame rates abt 20+ fps on avg,so far im quite satisfied...yet to oc the card...gona get my hands into it later oh god my heart is screaming for GS 1GB version... QUOTE(ahhann @ Oct 23 2008, 10:58 AM) FINALLY ! i going to make a jump from Nvidia8600 to ATI4850GS (Is this jump worth the price?) hurm..from what i think..yup..worth the price..The only reason for me to do so is because of ....... FAR CRY 2 ! Can't wait to play it on nice eye candy, but that depend on Lehteck got stock or not on tonight (sorry for the rush lehteck ....) 1st inquiry - Do i have to uninstall my Nvidia driver 1st before i plug in the 4850? will the drive conflict if i didn't uninstall the old drive? 2nd inquiry - Cooler Master Real Power 450W, can support this sweet candy right? 1.yup..uninstall the Nvidia driver 1st..or ur system will have the probability to crash..driver conflict will happen.. 2.yup..it can support ur "sweet candy"..depends on the comp spec..as long u dont have too many HDD and super power fan(talking about 190cfm delta fan that i'm using..sucks out 3A of 12v..)..it will be fine.. |
