Preparing food for gliders.. hehe

u mean who ?

urm.. mochi, putting milk in water bottle wont be a good idea.
because, i used to do that, and hun said, bacteria of milk will grow inside bottle and will be poisonous substance to the glider. u can only get rid of the bacteria using boiling water or detergent, but if u use boiling water to clean that kind of bottle it will melt if u use detergent u cant rinse it clearly, which its poisonous to ur glider too

urm... but i tried to clean it with very hot water (just boil) the bottle didnt not melt but... i cant give guarantee for that

but i tried 3 times already, its still ok

hi im might be new for this SG forum,anyway i have a problems a little bit maybe...
about my SG.. i have 2pair sg..

1st couple: Jony(male)&weezie(female)
2cnd couple: Woozie(male)&jenny(female)

the problems are:

my 1sg couple is quite big even though they just around 7month... esp: my jony...
it is male and big(gemuk kot),,, and weezie big also but active...
i type in BM ok... its hard to explain: sorry!!

jony sgat gemuk kot, ok2 tapi.. kenapa dia berjalan macam terkesot2 dan tgok kakinya macam tak kuat.. seblum nie pun macam ni jugak tapi bila lama2 ok... sekrang jadi semula pada asalnya.. masa2 dia kecik2 semua ok,lincah sgat... tapi besar nie dah jadi slow la... bila dia panjat 2-3kali jer kemudian dia trun bwah, guling2 mcam seolah kepenatan.uhhuu2 nape eah? kurang senaman ker?
diet memang ok, worms dan pelbagai buah2an yg mereka suka...

masalah woozie dan jenny pun hampir sama sekarang tetapi pasangan ini kecik pula.. untuk makluman jony dan jenny adikbradik, begitu jugak woozie dan weezie, so sya kawen silang heheh... tapi weezie jadi besar ikut jony,manakala jenny kecik ikut woozie... hairan a?
so masalahnya kenapa si jony,woozie dan jenny nie kurang aktif dan agak2 mula berjlan terkesot2... mcam tgok kakinya tak kuat jer.pemakanan mereka semua ok, selera besar dan diet yg ok... just sya belum pernah kasi pil2 tambahan vtamin saje...

kepada otai2 harap bantu saya ya...

They might suffer more than you could imagine..
and some gliders are known to face death due to this...

hot water + plastic will have chemical reaction...but i think that kinda bottle are not suitable to be clean with hot water. So better to spoon feed the milk.

Regarding nursing methods, I do prefer syringe...
Anyway it's really up to you...
For introduction (to milk or slurp smoothie), not all gliders/joey will take on the spot..
One must try to intro properly..

I firstly use syringe..
Please take note that syringe is to be used once..
Do not reuse..
When the glider/joey is used with it (milk or such), then only can use bowl or whatever suitable..
Trust me, not all joeys are into licking...

About the mealworm, there's quite a few methods to introduce..

1. dip in yogurt and offer to the glider

or

2. cut off the head and squeeze the juice and offer to glider

Please take note, some may take it straight away, some might take time..


As for dried mealworm, I guess it wont be such a hassle if the glider is used to live mealworms..
I personally haven't tried giving dried freeze mealworm yet..
It's kinda cool actually to bring around dried mealworm for our gliders..

Yap! But me cant differentiate them yet. One of them peep out from the pouch and let me touch the head, another one more trust me already, climb outside and never avoid me. Never jump on me yet though.
